Abstract

Since the pandemic conditions, the well-being of employees in Indonesia has continued to decline. The Work Trend Index survey from Microsoft stated that the level of employee well-being reached 68% in 2019, which then dropped to 61% in 2021. This decline in well-being is inseparable from the relationship between the company and employees, manifested in the internal work situation. This study aims to identify the influence of internal working conditions on the well-being of employees, especially in the banking sector, considering the pressure and work stress are pretty heavy. Banking employees are vulnerable to work stress due to high pressure, competition, and demands to provide the best service. Specifically, This study compares the well-being of employees in conventional and Islamic banks, considering that there are differences in the work system between the two. The city of Yogyakarta was then chosen as the object of this research because of the low City Minimum Wage (UMK) of Yogyakarta compared to the five other provincial capitals on the island of Java. The data obtained through a questionnaire from as many as 107 respondents were then processed using multiple regression analysis. The finding of this study is that the well-being of conventional bank employees is statistically higher than that of Islamic banks. In general, work pressure has a negative and significant effect on well-being. Like income, work motivation also positively and significantly impacts well-being.

Abstract

Poverty is still a complex economic problem in every country, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. One of Indonesia's provinces with a high poverty rate is the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), which amounted to 11.44% in 2019. This figure is the highest in Java and even higher than the national poverty rate of 9.82%. The high level of poverty is in line with the regional minimum wage of the DIY Province, which is the lowest in Indonesia, which is less than Rp. 1.6 million per month. This study then analyzes the minimum wage at the poverty level in the Province of DIY. The method used in this research is panel data with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) for all districts/cities in DIY Province from 2010-2019. By controlling for variables such as economic growth, education, and health, the results of this study indicate that the minimum wage has a negative effect on poverty levels in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Therefore, to accelerate poverty reduction in the DIY Province, the provincial and district/city governments must review the minimum wage calculation annually.

The data used in this study are secondary data sourced from the results of SUSENAS KOR and KP in March 2021 at the Central Bureau of Statistics using the logit regression analysis method. The logit model aims to find the probability of an individual or household event falling into poverty or not. The analysis results show that the smoking variable has a significant effect with a greater chance of falling into poverty. This means that someone who smokes has a greater chance of falling into poverty than someone who does not smoke. More people who consume cigarettes will increase the likelihood of falling into poverty more than those who do not.

Abstract

Sustainable economic growth is the goal of every country in the world. However, the economic growth that occurs is not in line with the welfare of the population in the lower middle-income countries. The high level of income inequality between the upper and lower classes indicates that there are problems that need to be resolved. This study aims to determine the direction and magnitude of the influence of trade openness, tax revenue, digital economy, corruption perception index, and government spending on the level of income inequality in six countries classified as lower Middle-Income countries in 2017-2021, namely (Bolivia, El Salvador, Honduras, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine) using panel data regression. The results with the Fixed Effects approach show that trade openness and the digital economy have a positive effect on the income gap, while government spending has a negative effect on the income gap. Meanwhile, tax expenditures and the corruption perception index have no effect on the income gap. Based on the results of this study, the government in each country should be able to pay attention to the development and support the economic facilities of the people in the lower middle class with various assistances that can directly increase their income.

Abstract

Mandalika Lombok is one of the super-priority tourism destinations in Indonesia. Culinary is one of the important elements needed by tourists, thus innovation and menu variations are needed. Pizza is one of the menus available at Mandalika Lombok, however, there are still not many variations. The availability of adequate and minimal use of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is one of the considerations for making innovations, namely making pizza with the addition of Virgin coconut oil (VCO), as an alternative and a variety of culinary tourism menus in Mandalika Lombok. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design with organoleptic tests including hedonic quality tests and hedonic tests with concentrations of 0%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The results of the analysis showed that the addition of Virgin coconut oil (VCO) had a significant effect on the Hedonic Quality Test (P0.05) and significantly affected the Hedonic Test (P0.05). The best treatment from the Hedonic Quality Test Results is T3 with a score of 4.20 and the best treatment in the Hedonic Test is T3 with a score of 4.46.

Abstract

The local community of Kuta Mandalika Village is required to adapt to the regional tourism industry as the spearhead of tourism operations in the Special Economic Zone for Tourism in West Nusa Tenggara. As a result, researchers aim to see how prepared the residents of Kuta Mandalika Village are to welcome tourism to their village. The cognitive, emotional, and conative components all play a role in community readiness. The community at Kuta Mandalika Village was studied using a qualitative research method. In-depth interviews and a non-probability sample strategy were used to identify relevant informants in this study. For the first phase, snowball sampling was chosen as the data collection strategy. According to the findings, the community of Kuta Mandalika Village are well prepared to host tourism activities in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. However, they are not yet prepared to participate in the tourism industry. The village is in the process of transitioning to a tourism-based society. The phenomena of rapid tourist development pushe the community as hosts, who are directly affected by tourism, to prepare themselves in an indirect way. The government, academics, and the private sector all have a role to play in helping to develop the surrounding community in terms of the capital and skills that the industry requires.
