Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country with a high risk of geo-hydrometeorological disasters, requires early education to build awareness and preparedness. This study aims to improve students’ understanding of early warning systems and disaster mitigation through participatory learning. The Community Service Program (PKM) was carried out at SMA Triguna 1956, Pesanggrahan District, South Jakarta, on July 24, 2025. The stages included site survey, material preparation, socialization through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), disaster response simulation, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test combined with digital media. A quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design was applied. The results showed a significant increase in students’ understanding of early warning procedures and mitigation measures. Thus, participatory education proved effective in strengthening youth preparedness against geo-hydro meteorological disasters.

Abstract

Processed food MSMEs are strategically supporting food security while contributing to the community's economy. However, one of the significant challenges is the low implementation of Good Processed Food Production Methods (CPPOB), which results in inconsistent product quality and safety. This condition is also experienced by Berkah Rangga (BR) MSME in Kubu Raya Regency, which, despite having business legality, still faces problems such as uncontrolled raw material quality, limited knowledge of sanitation and hygiene, and the absence of standardized operational procedures (SOP) in production. This community service program aimed to strengthen the partner's capacity in implementing CPPOB through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The program was carried out from July to August 2025. It consisted of several stages: socialization, training using a learning by doing approach, hygienic practice assistance, and evaluation through knowledge tests, interviews, and observations. The results showed that participants' understanding of CPPOB significantly improved, achieving a perfect score (80/80) on all evaluation items. Before the program, partners had a basic understanding of CPPOB but were weak in applying sanitation practices. After the program, there was a noticeable improvement in workplace cleanliness, better organization of raw material storage, and awareness of applying simple SOPs. Although participants' motivation varied due to limited facilities, mentoring encouraged more hygienic production behavior. The outcomes of this program are important for improving satisfaction and providing tangible benefits in strengthening a culture of quality, enhancing food safety, and increasing the competitiveness of BR MSME in both local and broader markets.

Abstract

Parit Baru Village, Salatiga District, Sambas Regency, has 7 mosques, 3 prayer rooms, and 5 Buddhist temples. Some houses of worship have recorded their financial statements, but they are not yet in accordance with the Accounting Standards for Entities Without Public Accountability (SAK-ETAP). SAKETAP is stipulated by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) in ISAK-35 (Interpretation of Financial Accounting Standards) concerning the Presentation of Financial Statements for Non-Profit Entities. Therefore, houses of worship require education and training in mosque financial literacy so they understand and are able to present accountable financial statements. Education and training are carried out through Community Service (PKM) activities in the Public Sector Accounting Study Program. The purpose of the PKM activity is to improve understanding and ability in preparing mosque financial statements. The results of the PKM activity show that there is an increase in knowledge and ability in preparing financial statements according to applicable standards. Before the PKM activity, participants did not fully understand house of worship accounting, because financial recording has only been done in a simple manner. However, after participating in PKM activities, house of worship administrators came to understand the importance of good accounting as a form of accountability to the public. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants who want to learn about the application for compiling financial reports for places of worship that we have provided.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia, including in the working area of Puskesmas Kota Ende, which has reported high case numbers over the past five years. The national strategy "One House, One Larvae Monitoring Officer" (G1R1J) has not yet achieved optimal results, largely due to limited health worker involvement in education, monitoring, and community support. This community service initiative seeks to strengthen health workers’ capacity through participatory training consisting of three sessions: deepening DHF knowledge, structuring G1R1J implementation, and practicing larvae surveillance and health education at the household level. Methods included interactive lectures, simulations, discussions, and fieldwork. Evaluation showed marked improvements in knowledge 44% to 86.7% (session 1), 8% to 82.7% (session 2), and 22% to 88% (session 3). Besides cognitive gains, the program also developed soft skills, making participants more communicative, collaborative, and responsive to local dynamics. These results indicate that participatory training effectively enhances technical and interpersonal competencies, positioning health workers as key agents of behavioral change in dengue prevention. This model holds potential for replication in other regions facing similar dengue challenges.. Keywords: Empowerment, Health Workers, Implementation, G1R1J

Abstract

Abstract Public awareness of waste management has increased over the past decade. The government has carried out numerous of waste management outreach from the national level to the sub-district level, which is the separation of organic and non-organic waste. Bukit Pinang Village is one of the sub-districts located in Samarinda Ulu District, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan. RT 19 is one of the RTs in Bukit Pinang Village where several residents have awareness about the separation of organic and non-organic household waste. However, the knowledge about organic waste management is still inadequately implemented. This was seen from the fact that many residents still throw it away in final disposal sites and some residents even burn their household waste, which of course disrupts air quality. Through this Community Science Program, counselling was provided on the management of organic household waste using a zero waste-based system that has broad and long-term benefits such as the plantation sector in a simple (minimalist) concept to housewives in RT 19. Participants were equipped with knowledge about improving the processing of household waste into more useful products, such as minimalist gardens and compost, so that local residents can manage their own waste while also having minimalist production gardens.
