Abstract

Sariak Laweh is a Nagari in the Indonesian province of West Sumatra's Akabiluru sub-district, Limapuluh Kota Regency. Farmers and breeders of livestock provide the majority of people's livelihoods. Nagari Sariak Laweh has much potential for planting crops like rice and vegetables. In addition, farmers and breeders in Sariak Laweh report a need for more livestock feed. This program aims to educate farmers about fermented forage animal feed and provide them with the necessary skills. Farmers can autonomously create and produce animal feed, which can reduce the amount of input and associated costs. The community engagement service was delivered through lecture and discussion techniques, which included direct conversations, practice sessions, and presentations by subject-matter experts. In order to manufacture fermented forage animal feed, farmers receive training from students. Therefore, this training would help breeders become more adept at using fermented forage animal feed in the field. The products from the training were prepared rice straw and processed corn waste that are ready for fermentation so that farmers can use them as feed samples in the future.

Abstract

The Shibori Sidomaju elderly group is a community that actively produces and sells shibori cloth. As the Shibori Batik business develops, there are many conflicts of interest between members. The management chairman committed fraud by taking over all the assets owned by the community, so the village government took over the management. This community service aims to transfer knowledge regarding institutional strengthening through management reorganization by establishing articles of association, by-laws, and organizational structure. The approach to community service activities used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) in counseling, mentoring, and training. The target community is the administrators and members of the Batik Shibori Elderly group in Kenteng Village. The activities were carried out from July to August 2023. The results show that Shibori managers understand the importance of institutional legality and the Shibori organizational structure. The output of the activity was the article by law, which was agreed upon and approved by all Shibori members. On this occasion, an organizational structure was also agreed upon that reflects the primary duties of the management, members, and village government. The division of leading tasks and functions can increase the sense of responsibility, commitment, and loyalty. Awareness and understanding of leading tasks and functions are the keys to developing the Shibori business.

The primary objective of this initiative is to nurture a generation of digitally aware youth by enhancing their knowledge and shaping healthier attitudes regarding cybersex. The location of the activities was SMA X Pariaman City. A combination of active and passive approaches was employed. Active methods involved delivering lectures with prepared materials and informative video presentations. Passively, students were provided with informational leaflets and banners placed strategically in the school environment. Pre-test and post-test questionnaires were administered to gauge the effectiveness of the materials and videos in influencing participants' knowledge and attitudes. Statistical analysis, including the Wilcoxon test and Gain Score, reveals a notable increase in expertise and confirms the effectiveness of the counseling efforts. Abstract

There are still many plant species that the public currently needs to be made aware. It is because the uses of plants still need to be well explored, which has left them with little practical usefulness. Abstract

The risk of various degenerative diseases is more experienced by older adults than young people. One of the most common health problems among the elderly is hypertension. Delays in treating hypertensive patients are caused by the majority of patients only coming to health facilities after experiencing complications and lack of access to public health services. The incidence of dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus (DM) also continues to grow, which are risk factors for coronary heart disease. For this reason, promotive and preventive efforts for the elderly group are significant through increasing knowledge and understanding of degenerative diseases. The community service partner is the Banpres Pololo Community Health Center, one of the community health centers in Sigi Regency with high cases of degenerative diseases, and the target of community service is the elderly in Uenuni Palolo village. Implementing the activity was health education about hypertension, DM, and dyslipidemia, health screening, and health counseling. The screening results found that 94.12% of older adults suffered from hypertension, 17.65% suffered from DM, and 52.94% suffered from hypercholesterolemia. Health counseling results show that most older adults did not understand the importance of early detection of degenerative diseases. Therefore, health education and counseling for the community still need to be improved.
