Journal of Tourism Studies (Jurnal Kepariwisataan/JPAR) is aimed to spread critical analysis from researchers and academic practitioners on various travel and tourism issues local, national and internationally. Abstract

The goal of this research is to find the quality service of French-speaking guidewhen they serve during the peak season in Bali, between Juli-Septembre. In another hand, according to the data of Bali’s Guide Office, there are only 235 among 8.198 French speaking guides who are competence and certified. The data were collected using a questionnaire with Likert Scale of degree 5. The data were analyzed using 5 dimensions of ServQual, and analyzed by comparing between the expectation and perception of tourists toward the quality services Bali’s French speaking guides which are: Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. The data also analyzed by using SPSS System version 13,0. The result of-of this analysis are: the mean score of tourist expectation of quality services Bali’s French speaking guides is in 3.46, and the men score of tourist perception of quality services Bali’s French speaking guides is in 3.29. It means that tourists are not satisfied.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pengembangan yang sesuai bagi desa wisata Undisan. Wawancara dan penyebaran kuesioner dilakukan kepada 12 orang stakeholder dan 18 wisatawan, guna mendapatkan data yang mendalam sehingga layak dianalisis. Data dipaparkan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan dianalisis dengan SWOT, untuk mengukur faktor internal (kekuatan dan kelemahan) dan faktor eksternal (peluang dan ancaman) dari desa wisata Undisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya alternatif strategi jangka pendek (1-5 tahun) yang meliputi revitalisasi lembaga formal, pemberdayaan masyarakatlokal, kampanye peduli lingkungan, redesain produk dan kerjasama dengan pihak lain untuk membangun kekuatan. Alternatif strategi jangka panjang (6-10 tahun) yang meliputi penetrasi pasar, pengembangan pasar dan produk, penyuluhan akan kelemahan dan ancaman secara berkala dan berkelanjutan, peningkatan mutu lingkungan fisik, dan penetapan batas wilayah desa yang definitif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan peran stakeholder sebagai “pemain utama” serta kendala-kendala pelibatan mereka dalam pengembangan desa wisata di Bali. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan pada empat kabupaten di Bali, yaitu Kabupaten Bangli, Gianyar, Badung dan Tabanan. Data diperoleh melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dimana narasumber dipilih secara purposive, selain data juga diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi. Analisis kualitatif dipilih untuk mereduksi, memilah serta menginterpretaskan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah sebagai regulator, fasilitator, dan eksekutorhendaknya: (1) mendorong pengembangan desa wisata sesuai potensinya, bukan atas alasan politis dan/atau karena sekadar untuk memperoleh dana bantuan, (2) mengkaji secara konprehensif desa wisata yang akan dikembangkan, (3) menyiapkan perencanaan yang matang dengan mengintegrasikan rencana pembangunan pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi dengan rencana kerja yang disusun masyarakat, (4) memberikan pelatihan untuk mengembangkan kapasitas masyarakat local dalam pengembangan desa wisata, dan (5) memonitor dan mengevaluasi kegiatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan desa wisata.Masyarakat hendaknya secara kritis mengembangkan diri dan lingkungannya, serta menerapkan nilai-nilai lokal serta mengedepankan keunikan budaya Bali sebagai kekuatan pengembangan desa wisata, sementara itu pengusaha diharapkan berperan dalam peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat lokal terkait kebutuhan desa wisata, peran akademisi diharapkan mampu memberikan sumbangan pemikiran dalam mengidentifikasi permasalahan desa wisata dan mencarikan solusinya, sementara pers dapat menonjolkan fungsi kontrol dan penyebarluasan informasi kepada publik. Kendala utama yang dihadapi dalam pengembangan desa wisata terkait dengan koordinasi antar stakeholders serta belum adanya agent of change yang mampu mengkoordinir peran stakeholders tersebut.

Abstract

Perkembangan wedding di Bali semakin meningkat, menyebabkan banyaknya usaha jasa wedding organizer bermunculan. Para calon pelanggan menjadi lebih selektif dalam menentukan keputusannya menggunakan jasa suatu wedding organizer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bauran pemasaran jasa yang terdiri dari price, product, promotion, place, people, process, dan physical evidence terhadap keputusan pembelian di PT. Bali Exotic Wedding. Teknik analisis data yang dipakai adalah deskriptif kuantiatif melalui pendekatan statistik yang menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan regresi linier berganda, uji signifikansi parameter individual (Uji t), uji signifikansi simultan (Uji F) dan koefisien determinasi R². Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebagai responden adalah sebanyak 85 orang yang terdiri dari pelanggan bride/groom yang pernah menggunakan jasa layanan wedding di PT. BaliExotic Wedding.

Abstract

The discrepancy of tourism development which focused only at the south, is now a major focus in tourism development strategies in Bali for equitable distribution of destinations. One touristic village now growing due to is Munduk Tourism Village in North Bali. This study, therefore, aims to obtain the perception of European tourists on the tourism development in Munduk through explorative analysis with 8E model. This research was conducted by using quantitative-qualitative research approach by distributing questionnaires and in-depth interviews to the respondents by accidental sampling. The results show that the tourists are dominated by female with the major countries are from Denmark. The classification of tourists are mostly millenial generation with the age range 17-25 years old, thus they are mostly students. The most enchanting attractions which become favorite preference is Panorama (22%), then followed by authentic Balinese Village (20%). Besides, it also shows that the most effective marketingstrategy is through the internet, as 36% tourists admits to get information from website or social media. Moreover, half of tourists admit for their first visit to Munduk. Another things need to concern is their length of stay which is 2.6 nights. To conclude, there are several challenges and obstacles facing tourism management in Munduk Village, namely: related to culture, local community involvement in cultural attractions, enrichment of cultural attractions to attract tourists and good waste management for sustainable environment.

Abstract

Tourism in Indonesia has rapidly developed and has supported the economic development of the country over three decades. Along with the issues of global sustainability, most governments in the world, including Indonesia, have committed to developing tourism in a sustainable manner. The national tourism policy thus becomes an important tool to control the development, where the natural and cultural resources are intensively utilized to support tourism. As a focal part in policy making, the national government has a significant role to ensure the attainment of sustainable tourism. However, the integration of the concept of sustainable development in the national tourism policy has been moderated when the economy of Indonesia particularly in the tourism industry is currently facing depression and has not to get back to the level as achieved in the past decade.

Abstract

The Government of Bali decided that culture tourism concepts were viewed as the ideology, spirit, guidelines, framework and solutions in developing tourism in Bali. These decisions were then legitimized in a form of provincial rules "Perda no 3, tahun 1974" concerning the cultural tourism. The relationship of tourism development and cultural development runs in harmony. It can be seen obviously that the Balinese awareness of their culture comes simultaneously as the tourism of Bali develops. The culture of Bali which is based on Hindu Relegion is implemented as a fundamental base, dominant factor and motor by which the tourism of Bali is developed.
