Abstract

This article publication aims to examine the Bawah Reserve’s efforts towards sustainability, a luxury resort located on remote and marine conservation area Anambas Island, Indonesia. Its appeal is based on luxury, but it also offers insights into the small island’s nature and community development. By analyzing the content based on the grounded theory approach, this study sheds light on the opportunities that arise when striving for both opulence and environmental responsibility in the context of tourism. The paper attempts to address how eco-luxury is projected by management and perceived by customers and community. A qualitative study was adopted, and the findings identify four themes: Sustainable Management, Sustainable Socioeconomic Benefits, Cultural Heritage and Reduced Cultural Impacts, and Environmental Protection and Conservation. The findings of sustainable tourism practices in Bawah Reserve, such as tourism packages based on natural conservation and community empowerment as well as eco-friendly infrastructure and operations add to the literature review and case studies in the field of sustainable luxury tourism, the majority of which focus on Bali or Maldives. This study offers insights for achieving a harmonious balance between luxury tourism and sustainability on a remote island within the Indonesian context.

Abstract

Purwakarta has 62 tourist destinations in 2023, one of the interesting places to visit is Pelangi Forest, Mount Cupu, Purwakarta. This destination has been established since 2017 on an area of 5 (five) hectares and is still being developed. It is called Pelangi Forest which means Rainbow Forest because it has a unique theme, decorating the forest with lots of colorful ornaments like a Pelangi. However, the level of tourist visits is still very low, it is known that there were only 2,582 tourists per year in 2020. This research aims to analyze the extent of the natural tourism potential of Pelangi Forest. The method used is quantitative descriptive, where data collection is carried out through distributing questionnaires to 30 tourists. The collected data was then analyzed using the Analysis of Operation Area-Natural Tourism Objects and Attractions (Analisis Daerah Operasi Objek dan Daya Tarik Wisata Alam (ADO-ODTWA)) criteria assessment by the Directorate General of PHKA by providing an assessment of each specified indicator. The results obtained were that the Pelangi Forest was suitable for development as a natural tourism objects and attractions (73.92%>66.67%). It is hoped that this research can become a reference and alternative strategy for managing the Pelangi Forest in developing its tourist attraction to be more optimal so that it can increase the number of tourists in the future, as well as being a source of information for other parties who need it through published journals

Abstract

The agriculture sector is critical to the achievement of the first and second Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Studying the Farmer Exchange Rate provides insight into the impact of this exchange rate and its influencing elements from the standpoint of the SDGs. One of the issues is the necessity for farmers to gain greater expertise. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the Indonesian Farmer Exchange Rate and the SDGs. A literature review was used in this study, using secondary data gathered from papers and journals containing talks on Farmer Exchange Rates and SDGs that were curated and identified as many as 40 selected research titles. Data analysis was carried out in stages that included data gathering, data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drafting. Data was gathered from the Published or Perish application utilizing Google Scholar literature sources. According to the study's findings, the Farmer Exchange Rate corresponds with poverty, a key target of the SDGs. Because the Farmer Exchange Rate is a measure of farmer welfare, which is tied to poverty, the factors that influence it also affect the SDGs. Lower poverty rates are connected with higher farmer welfare.

The growth of the tourist industry need a variety of supporting aspects, one of which is hotel accommodation. BWP Panbil Batam is a four-star plus hotel with a premium concept that opened in 2016 in Batam City. BWP Panbil has numerous departments to assist operating activities, the most important of which is the housekeeping department, particularly in the room attendant position. To clarify the topic matter or research findings, this study employs quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. Using the Slovin algorithm, the researchers collected a sample of 100 responses from customers who stayed at the BWP Panbil Batam Hotel between January and June 2022. Based on the partial test known as t-test, it is possible to infer that hypothesis H1 is accepted in this research and hypothesis null (H0) is rejected. The R2 value is 0.595, as determined by the determinant coefficient test findings. This suggests that service quality influences client satisfaction at the BWP Panbil Batam Hotel by 59.5%, with the remaining 40.5% impacted by other independent factors not investigated in this study.
