Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prokrastinasi mahasiswa dari perspektif filsafat pragmatisme yang diusung oleh John Dewey. Pragmatisme menekankan pentingnya pengalaman nyata dan dampak praktis dari tindakan individu, yang mencakup bagaimana mahasiswa memaknai dan menghadapi tugas-tugas akademik mereka. Dalam pendekatan ini, prokrastinasi dipahami sebagai respons terhadap persepsi tentang relevansi dan manfaat praktis tugas-tugas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan pragmatisme untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana prokrastinasi dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman dan persepsi individu. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur (library research) dan observasi mendalam terhadap mahasiswa, yang memungkinkan peneliti memahami pola pikir dan respons emosional mereka terhadap tugas akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prokrastinasi terkait erat dengan persepsi mahasiswa tentang relevansi tugas dan pengalaman sebelumnya. Dengan pendekatan pragmatisme, pengalaman nyata dan refleksi diri dipandang sebagai cara untuk mengubah pola pikir mahasiswa, membantu mereka melihat tugas sebagai peluang untuk berkembang. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa dengan memberikan makna praktis pada tugas-tugas akademik, mahasiswa dapat mengurangi kebiasaan menunda.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the communication strategies of IAIN Curup’s Public Relations (PR) in branding the campus through the utilization of social media for the promotion of new student admissions. Every academic year, higher education institutions face the challenge of declining numbers of prospective new students, which becomes a seasonal concern. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a field research method to uncover the underlying phenomena related to the promotional strategies. Informants were selected using purposive sampling to obtain maximal data. The results indicate that the role of the PR department in higher education is highly strategic in ensuring the dissemination of information regarding the institution's vision, mission, and leadership policies to the public, as part of institutional branding. The task of PR is to create a positive perception in the community about the campus through various branding attributes. Furthermore, from 2019 to 2022, IAIN Curup’s PR utilized seven social media platforms for campus branding, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), YouTube, and TikTok. The use of these social media platforms successfully reached thousands of followers and visitors. Additionally, the branding strategy was realized through planning, implementation, and evaluation to enhance the effectiveness of new student admission promotions.

Abstract

This research describes: first, the implementation of the annual Ramadhan preaching week activities for students; second, application of Islamic educational values ​​in the da'wah week program; third, the internalization method in applying Islamic educational values ​​to the da'wah week program. This research method is qualitative field research. Data collection methods are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research indicate that the da'wah week program is an Islamic boarding school program that must be followed by class XI female students at the Zam Zam Cilongok modern Islamic boarding school. This da'wah week program is held in the first two weeks of the month of Ramadan. This program is running well and the implementation of Islamic values ​​is also implemented by students in their preaching environment.

Abstract

Racism often occurs in everyday life and on social media. Many social media users deliberately post hateful comments to insult others, often related to racism, such as discriminatory treatment based on skin color. This issue contradicts the teachings of the Quran, which advocates tolerance, harmony, and politeness. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, referring to Wahbah Az Zuhaili's Tafsir Al Munir to analyze the issue of racism in Q.S. Al Hujurat verses 11-13. Wahbah Az Zuhaili interprets these verses based on his experiences and intellectual background, emphasizing the prohibition of insulting, belittling, and finding fault with others, and highlighting the principle of human equality, distinguished only by piety and character. The divine system in mentioning ethics includes reports about corrupt people, the impact of conflict, the prohibition of despicable behavior, and the affirmation of the unity of mankind, with the aim of maintaining the unity of Muslims and spreading the teachings of Islam at all times and places.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana mahasiswa di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Sumatera Utara menggunakan internet sebagai alat komunikasi. mengevaluasi seberapa baik internet mendukung kegiatan belajar mahasiswa di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Sumatera Utara. Online efficacy merupakan variabel bebas (X) penelitian ini, sedangkan aktivitas belajar merupakan variabel terikat (Y). Sifat penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dan deskriptif. Sampel dikumpulkan dari wawancara dengan 78 mahasiswa, dan populasi penelitian terdiri dari 104 mahasiswa yang disurvei menggunakan kuesioner yang disesuaikan menjadi 100 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan metode Slovin. Dengan menggunakan kuesioner, metode yang digunakan adalah proporsional random sampling. Kelayakan instrumen dinilai dengan menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Wawancara dan kuesioner digunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Analisis regresi linier sederhana dan teknik analisis deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Secara bersamaan, uji asumsi tradisional dilakukan untuk menilai kelayakan regresi dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS Versi 17.00 untuk analisis yang komprehensif. Menurut penelitian ini, 75% mahasiswa di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Sumatera Utara melaporkan bahwa penggunaan internet sebagai alat komunikasi mempengaruhi kegiatan belajar mereka. Karena internet terutama digunakan untuk tujuan rekreasi dan karena tidak semua pengajar memberikan tugas yang mengharuskan siswa untuk menggunakan internet, maka dampaknya terhadap kinerja akademik siswa tidak terlalu besar.

Abstract

In today's culinary business, there are more and more competitors, therefore a marketing strategy is needed that can attract the attention of consumers so that the business can continue to grow. The purpose of this research is to describe the 4p marketing mix communication strategy used to expand the marketing of @mierah_purwantoro. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection using interviews with the owner, admin, employees, and consumers, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) SWOT analysis in the @mierah_purwantoro culinary business, namely: Strengths, strategic location, prioritizing service quality, pure raw materials, affordable prices, and accepting online purchases or delivery. Weaknesses, namely large business capital and a less broad target market. Opportunities, using various social media for promotion and creating new menus. Threats, namely the number of new competitors and similar marketing strategies with other similar businesses. 2) The 4p marketing mix communication strategy applied in marketing the @mierah_purwantoro culinary business, namely: Product (product), has a variety of quality product variants. Price (price), has an affordable price that matches the quality of the products offered. Place (place) is strategic. Promotion, through Instagram by uploading photos and videos on snapgrams or instastory, creating content with celebrities, including the place and WhatsApp number of the owner and admin, and creating independence competitions or other days.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis framing pemberitaan Pemilu 2024 yang ditayangkan dalam program Q&A Metro TV dengan menggunakan model analisis framing Robert N. Entman. Studi ini menyoroti bagaimana narasi dalam program tersebut membentuk persepsi publik tentang proses demokrasi digital. Dengan fokus pada tiga episode Q&A dari Februari hingga Juli 2024, ditemukan bahwa framing berita mencerminkan krisis kepercayaan publik terhadap transparansi dan netralitas penyelenggaraan pemilu, serta dugaan kecurangan yang melibatkan aktor politik dan kelembagaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Q&A Metro TV menggunakan elemen framing seperti identifikasi masalah, interpretasi penyebab, evaluasi moral, dan rekomendasi solusi untuk membingkai isu secara kritis. Program ini juga menciptakan kesadaran publik tentang pentingnya pengawasan masyarakat, reformasi sistem pemilu, dan adopsi teknologi sebagai langkah modernisasi. Namun, framing yang tajam dan provokatif berpotensi memperdalam polarisasi diskursus publik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk diskursus politik, tetapi perlu menjaga keseimbangan antara fungsi pengawasan dengan objektivitas untuk memfasilitasi dialog demokrasi yang konstruktif. Abstract

The Tebar Huffadz program is a mosque-based initiative aimed at disseminating Qur'anic education within the community. This study seeks to analyze the persuasive communication strategies employed in the Tebar Huffadz program at Masjid Ibadurrahman Cembor, as well as to assess their effectiveness in enhancing community engagement and addressing existing social barriers. Adopting a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research focuses on the persuasive communication strategies implemented in the program. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the mosque’s management board (takmir), religious figures, and community members involved, as well as through program documentation. The findings reveal that the persuasive communication strategies used in this program include a personal approach to religious leaders, the use of familiar terminology within the community, and message delivery rooted in local and socio-religious values. These strategies have proven effective in introducing and implementing mosque-based programs in environments with strong religious affiliations. The utilization of community-recognized terminology, the involvement of religious leaders as primary communicators, and message delivery that prioritizes social and spiritual values are the key factors behind the program’s success

Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of social media as a medium for da'wah carried out by Pesantren Maskanul Huffadz in Medan City. The pesantren Maskanul Huffadz in Medan City has utilized social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to convey and disseminate Islamic messages to a broad audience. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The research findings indicate that social media management at Pesantren Maskanul Huffadz in Medan City involves structured content planning, organized implementation, and periodic evaluation of the effectiveness of uploaded content. The da'wah strategy includes a creative approach through visual content, videos, and writings that are relevant to the audience's needs. The challenges faced include device limitations at Pesantren Maskanul Huffadz in Medan City. However, the pesantren has successfully built a positive image and expanded its da'wah reach through active interactions with social media followers. This study concludes that effective social media management can serve as a powerful tool in supporting da'wah activities. Pesantren Maskanul Huffadz in Medan City is expected to continue developing digital strategies to address the challenges of the information technology era.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the extent to which the MUI Medan City da'wah program has been implemented. The purpose of this study is to determine how the implementation of the da'wah program is carried out by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Medan City. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, where data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data used in this study consists of primary and secondary data. The main informant used as the primary data source is the Chairperson of the Dakwah and Community Development Commission of the MUI Medan City. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from documentation, archives, and other sources. The results of the study indicate that there are two types of da'wah programs implemented, namely direct da'wah activity implementation programs and da'wah activity implementation programs through social media. The implementation of the da'wah program by the MUI Medan City shows positive results and is in accordance with the established program standards.
