Mezurashii: Journal of Japanese Studies is a biannual peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Cultural Science, University of 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. The journal encourages original articles on various issues within Japanese Studies, which include but are not limited to linguistics, literature, and culture. Mezurashii: Journal of Japanese Studies accepts to publish a balanced composition of high-quality theoretical or empirical research articles, comparative studies, case studies, review papers, exploratory papers, and book reviews. All accepted manuscripts will be published either online and in printed journal.

Abstract

This study examines the current existence of bundo kanduang in the economic sector through the lens of womenomics. Womenomics policies have enabled Japanese women, who were previously excluded from pursuing careers in the economic sector due to the influence of patriarchal culture, to gain the right to pursue careers and actively contribute to the economy. Comparatively, this aligns with the role of bundo kanduang in the economic sector in Minangkabau. However, environmental support and cultural factors, such as matriarchy and patriarchy, have led to differing impacts of women's roles in Japan and Minangkabau. This study employs a qualitative research approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection conducted through a literature review. The primary data sources for this research include internet-based resources such as scientific journals discussing bundo kanduang and womenomics, news websites, and books addressing bundo kanduang and womenomics. The findings reveal that the economic role of bundo kanduang, analyzed through the womenomics concept, demonstrates a significant and positive impact on community economics. Bundo kanduang acts as an agent of change by improving the economy through entrepreneurial activities such as selling various handicrafts and food products. However, there are notable differences between the impact of women's roles in the economic sector in Japan and Minangkabau. The participation of bundo kanduang in Minangkabau has a relatively greater influence on improving the economy compared to the contribution of Japanese women, due to differences in social and cultural environments.

Abstract

This research uses the SLR or Systematic Literature Review method which focuses on findings that show the importance of interlanguage pragmatic and its learning in language learning, especially for Japanese language learning. There are 15 articles published in the period 2019 to 2024 that focus on three categories; the types of pragmatic errors that commonly occur, interlanguage pragmatic learning strategies, and their effects on language skills. The results obtained are the importance of understanding interlanguage pragmatic in relation to second language acquisition (L2), as a form of prevention and minimizing the occurrence of pragmatic errors and as a positive impact in the form of improving language skills in order to comply with the social and cultural norms of the language mastered. An understanding of interlanguage pragmatics is needed in Japanese language learning which is full of and closely related to the social and cultural norms of the community. This shows the integration of teaching interlanguage pragmatic thoroughly as a prevention of pragmatic errors and bridging the gap, both in research and understanding of interlanguage pragmatic. Abstract

Code-mixing is a general term that refers to the alternating use of two or more languages or language variations for communication purposes. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of code-mixing that appears in Che'nelle's song lyrics. The method that will be used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, which is a method whose data is described through or with words. This method is considered a method that is in line with identifying code mixing in Che'nelle's song lyrics. The data contained in the study is a form of dialogue from each character which will later be interpreted into sentences or written words. The primary data source for this study was obtained through YouTube Music through the lyrics in Che'nelle's songs and Japanese translation texts; In contrast, secondary data sources include books, literature, and internet sites that are relevant to the research topic being conducted. Data analysis was carried out using the listening method and note-taking technique. The results showed that the code-mixing that appears in Cha'nelle's song lyrics consists of various forms such as words, phrases, clauses, and word repetitions. This code-mixing phenomenon often occurs when Japanese is mixed with English, either in one verse of a song or between verses. Keywords : code-mixing; sociolinguistics; song lyrics; cha’nelle

Abstract

Kanji adalah simbol yang diciptakan berdasarkan makna yang ingin disampaikan. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada 39 Kanji yang mengandung Bushu 糸 yang memiliki hubungan dengan makna “benang” secara tidak langsung yang diambil dari kamus Kanji Jepang " Shin Reinboo Shougaku Kanji Jiten Kaitei Dai 3 Ban" (新レインボー小学漢字辞典改訂第3版). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan bagaimana peran semantik unsur 糸 pada Kanji yang ber-Bushu 糸 berdasarkan naritachi dan makna asosiasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, teori yang dipakai adalah teori peran semantik oleh Sumiko (2005) dan teori makna. Dari hasil analisis, dapat diketahui terdapat total 39 Kanji yang memiliki hubungan dengan 糸(benang) secara tidak langsung. Dari 10 klasifikasi Kanji berdasarkan teori peran semantik oleh (Sumiko, 2005) hanya ditemukan 6 peran semantik, yaitu peran semantik sebagai penderita dengan 11 data, sebagai tema 10 data, sebagai pelaku 7 data, sebagai tujuan 7 data, sebagai alat 3 data dan sebagai lokasi 2 data.

Abstract

Huruf hiragana merupakan salah satu huruf dasar dalam bahasa Jepang yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh pemelajar pemula. Namun, dalam praktik pembelajaran ditemukan kesalahan, baik dari segi bentuk tulisan maupun goresan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan penulisan huruf hiragana yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas X ULW di SMK 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2024–2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes tulis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 18 siswa kelas X ULW yang dipilih sebagai sample. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 22 huruf hiragana yang teridentifikasi salah karena tidak sesuai dengan goresan maupun bentuknya. Kesalahan yang paling sering dijumpai terdapat pada hurufか (ka),う (u),き (ki),こ(ko), ね(ne). Sebagian besar siswa belum terbiasa menulis huruf Jepang, sehingga mengabaikan tiga jenis goresan yang ada pada kaidah penulisan huruf hiragana. Selain itu, kesalahan juga dikarenakan huruf hiragana yang tidak sesuai dengan bentuk standartnya sehingga sulit dibaca. Oleh karena itu, dengan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi kepada guru Bahasa Jepang dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran menulis huruf hiragana yang efektif dan aplikatif sesuai kaidah penulisannya.
