Abstract

In a warehouse facility layout design including a health clinic, the layout design of warehouse facilities and production storage areas plays a very important role, it is impossible for the manufactured goods to be distributed directly to all customers. For this reason, there is a need for a good storage area and storage system to simplify the production process. Clinic XYZ is a 24-hour public health clinic, located in a sub-district in North Sumatra, to be precise in Medan Deli District. The problem that occurs is the random arrangement of goods in the warehouse without paying attention to storage and arrangement patterns that depend on the position of the empty warehouse. Based on observations, it is known that the time span needed to look for drugs at the clinic is too long, so this will make it difficult for employees / operators to manage the products to be stored or retrieved from the drug warehouse. One of the warehouse design methods that can be used is the dedicated storage method. Dedicated storage is a method of placing a specific location or storage area for each item stored. In this study, the types of drugs were classified into drugs, solid types of drugs, semi- solid drugs, liquid drugs and gas drugs. Based on the results obtained, the number of slots needed in the drug product warehouse is 11 slots, the total floor area needed is 13.2 m2, the area needed for storing medicinal products with an alley area is 6.8 m2, the percentage of area that is not used for storage the product in the medicinal product warehouse is 34% and the diagonal length of the hand truck when carrying the box is 1.56 m

Abstract

PT. X is an industry that produces green tea and black tea. In this study, there are often problems with the wrapping machine due to the age of use and the tight schedule of usage in the wrapping machine. If the machine operates in an unstable condition, it will greatly affect the results of the production. Damaged components such as cutting blades, heating heaters, thermo control and bearings. By using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and also calculating the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value, the highest RPN value to the lowest is obtained, namely Cutting Knife (RPN = 100), Heater (RPN = 90), Thermo Control (RPN = 72) and Bearings (RPN = 36). It can be seen that the cause of damage to the wrapping machine and also the highest RPN calculation is found in the damage to the cutting knife whose RPN value is 100. From the analysis of the damage to the cutting knife, the author provides a suggested repair plan for the company so that it can be implemented in the company which can later improve the quality of the machine to be operated. for the future which cannot be separated from the supervisory role of the operators in charge of their cooperation to improve quality and the quality control team that always monitors quality

Abstract

Bulk olein is one of the products produced by Palm Oil Processing Company. Bulk cooking oil controls 75 percent of the production market share in Indonesia and about 77.5 percent of households in Indonesia use bulk cooking oil because the price is cheaper than packaged cooking oil. Demand for olein in the future is predicted to be continued to increase, so it is necessary to estimate future sales so that production activities become more effective and efficient. The method used in this study is the double moving average (DMA), which is one of the forecasting methods with data that has a trend. The calculation will be done by comparing the result of 3 moving, 4 moving and 5 moving. Forecasting error is calculated using mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The calculation results show that the average MAPE from DMA with 5 moving has the smallest value. To verify these results, an analysis of the processed data was carried out, namely looking for data with the furthest distance from the linear line, namely t3 data and t7 data. The data is omitted in data processing and then the MAPE error value is recalculated. The results obtained are that DMA with 3 moving results have the smallest error, which is 11.863 percent. For this reason, the chosen forecasting calculation is a double moving average with 3 moving.

Abstract

Wood furniture workers often face ergonomic challenges in their daily work activities, which involve manual tasks such as lifting, cutting, and assembling wooden components. These activities have the potential to cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which are disorders of the musculoskeletal system. MSDs can cause muscle pain, physical fatigue, and reduced work productivity in the long term if not properly addressed. This study aims to analyze the work posture risks of furniture workers using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, designed to evaluate overall body posture during work activities. Data collection was conducted through direct observation on-site and video recording during the work process. This visual data was then analyzed using CorelDraw software to measure the workers' body posture angles, which were subsequently used to determine the REBA score for each work activity. The analysis results showed that out of the five main stages in the furniture production process, four of them had moderate to high ergonomic risk levels. The most risky stages are during wood cutting and assembly, where workers tend to bend or lift loads in an unideal position. Based on these results, the study recommends several improvement measures, including the use of lifting aids, adjusting the height of workbenches to match workers' body postures, and scheduling regular rest breaks. These steps are expected to reduce the risk of injuries caused by non-ergonomic work postures and improve the comfort and efficiency of furniture workers.

Abstract

Calibration Laboratory PT. ABC is one of the calibration specialist laboratories, offering calibration service facilities and tool sales via a job order system under the warranty and ISO departments. Currently, performance measurement in the Calibration Laboratory is based on incoming order targets being met by the warranty and ISO departments. This method of measuring performance cannot be used as a benchmark. As a result, the Calibration Laboratory must implement an adequate performance measuring method to determine whether or not the company's performance has been satisfactory. This study uses the Sink's Seven Performance Criteria technique to assess firm performance based on seven criteria: productivity, effectiveness, efficiency, quality, profitability, work life, and innovation. The performance measurement results obtained using this method can identify 23 Key Performance Indicators (KPI) at PT. ABC's Calibration Laboratory (Persero). The use of a scoring system based on the Objective Matrix (Oi MAX) and the Traffic Light System is known to obtain a performance index of 7.78 for the Calibration Laboratory of PT. ABC in 2021. According to the Traffic Light System, Calibration Laboratory's total performance value is in the yellow category, indicating that average performance has also not met the aim. Management must strive harder to improve its performance by selecting criteria that are poor and have a high weight. They are then assessed and suggestions for improvement are made using Fishbone diagrams and 5W+1H.

Abstract

Product and service quality factors are important aspects of business continuity. Consumers will abandon low-quality products and services. Consumers will feel satisfied if all aspects of the products and services are appropriately accommodated. Product and service quality have different tendencies because service quality dimensions are more complex than product quality. This study aims to analyze the quality of customer service at auto repair shops based on consumer preferences. Assessment of the level of satisfaction and consumer expectations of each attribute is done by filling out a questionnaire to identify the gap between the level of importance and level of performance. The consumer's assessment of each indicator of the auto repair shop is carried out through a questionnaire filled out to the consumer to find out the gap between the level of importance and the level of performance. The analytical method used is Importance Performance Analysis–IPA showing that the attributes of auto repair shops that need to be improved are [P1] improving the repair period as promised, [P2] Procedures and managerial capabilities in providing adequate service, [P3] Results following consumer recommendations, and [P4] Knowledgeable workshop managers and staff, [P5] Service speed from responsiveness quality dimensions, [P11] Credibility and honesty of workshop managers and staff, [P12] Clarity of communication and information to consumers. The priority of quality attributes of auto repair shops that will be improved can provide alternative development priorities between human resources and limited equipment servicing.

Abstract

CV. XYZ is a company engaged in food processing, it processes meat as the main raw material. Beef rollade is one of the products produced by CV. XYZ using "Fort Quarter" (FQ) beef as raw materials and auxiliary ingredients, i.e spices, eggs, onions, TVP (Texture Vegetable Protein) Red, and flour. TVP Red is an important auxiliary raw material in beef rollade production. A shortage of auxiliary materials for TVP Red during the production process will disrupt the process and if production continues, the product quality will decrease. Currently, the inventory policy carried out by CV. XYZ is to check the inventory of and auxiliary materials just before carrying out production activities so that if there is a shortage of auxiliary materials, new orders are made at that time. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the number of orders and the optimal frequency of ordering TVP Red using the EOQ method and determining the total cost of TVP Red inventory before and after using the EOQ method. Based on the results of calculations carried out using the EOQ, it can be concluded that the number of economical purchases of TVP Red is 1,007.6 Kg per order. With that number of purchases, the frequency of ordering by CV. XYZ is reduced to 13 times in one year. The difference in the frequency of these purchases is 25 times in one year. With purchase frequency of 13 times in one year, it can save the total inventory cost of Rp. 163.972,4.
