Abstract

Feed is one of the most influential factors on the appearance of tilapia productivity. This study aimed to analyze the effect of substitution of fish feed with Eucheuma striatum seaweed meal on the cultivation of Tilapia (Oreochromis. niloticus). This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Mataram University. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 4 treatments with 3 replications, ie: control (P1), concentration of 4% seaweed flour (P2), concentration of 8% seaweed flour (P3), and concentration of 12% seaweed flour (P4). The results showed that substitution of fish feed with seaweed meal E. striatum could affect growth and specific growth rate, but did not affect Feed Utilization Efficiency (EPP), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and Survival Rate (SR) of Tilapia. Fortification of E. striatum flour at concentrations of 4% and 8% in feed gave better absolute and specific weight growth of Tilapia, while the best absolute length growth was found in the addition of 8% E. striatum flour, which was 2.26 cm.

Abstract

Cherry tomato is a popular horticultural crop in Indonesia. The need for cherry tomatoes is starting to increase and they are starting to be consumed fresh as fruit or in processed form. The growth and productivity of cherry tomatoes is strongly influenced by the salinity of the growing media. Soil is classified as saline if the saturated extract from saline soil has a DHL or EC value of more than 4 dS/m. The aim of the study was to determine the growth response and the best NaCl concentration on growth, vitamin C content, and total phenol in cherry tomatoes. This research was conducted from March to May 2020 at the Green House of the University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa. Cherry tomatoes were grown in a planting medium in the form of yard soil and manure with a ratio of 2:1, given a solution with various concentrations of NaCl every day to produce the effect of salinity of NaCl. The treatments given during data observation included growth, vitamin C content, and total flavonoids. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA, if there was a significant difference, then proceed with DMRT. The results of the analysis showed that several growth parameters gave significant differences, namely: plant height, compound leaves, and stem diameter. While the growth parameters that do not provide a significant difference in the number of flowers and the number of fruit. The highest vitamin C content in cherry tomatoes was obtained in the 1000 ppm treatment, amounting to 30.30 mg/ 100 g. The highest total phenol content of cherry tomatoes was found in the 1000 ppm treatment, amounting to 24.89 mg/ 100 g. The conclusion of this research is that the best NaCl concentration treatment is 1,000 ppm, where there are significant differences in plant height, compound leaves, and stem diameter. The concentration of 1,000 ppm also increased the highest total vitamin C and phenol content.

Abstract

Capillaria hepatica is a zoonotic parasitic agent that has been reported in various parts of the world. The presence of C. hepatica in an area is closely related to the presence of a rat population. Considering the life cycle of C. hepatica which is easily transmitted to humans, one of the most vulnerable places for transmission of C. hepatica to humans is the market area. This study aims to detect the presence of C. hepatica worms in the rat population in Public Market Kebon Roek, Ampenan District, Mataram City. This type of research is descriptive research with a cross sectional study design (cross-sectional study). To determine the number of samples, an accidental study approach was used, namely the number of rat samples used was the number of rats caught during the study period (set for 2 traps). 10 samples of rat liver were collected. The liver was then preserved in 10% formalin solution at the Microanatomy Laboratory, Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University. Meanwhile, histology preparations and GI fluid examination were carried out at the Clinical Skill Center (CSC) Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mandalika University of Education. Data in the form of images of worm eggs and histopathology of liver tissue were analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of figures and tables. The results of the examination of 10 samples of rat liver histology preparations showed that 4 positive samples contained eggs and adult worms of C. hepatica. Where the 3 histological preparations observed showed that the rat liver was severely damaged, and 1 sample appeared to have minor damage. For examination of gastrointestinal fluids, there were no samples containing C. hepatica worm eggs.

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKPD), is a useful guide in conducting a practicum. This study aims to analyze, test, and reconstruct Student Worksheets (LKPD) that do not meet the established standards. The research method used is using a qualitative descriptive method, which analyzes the Student Worksheet (LKPD) of the urine test practicum contained in the Biology package book for class XI SMA from several curricula. The analysis was carried out on 10 Student Worksheets (LKPD) for urine testing from the Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK) (2004), Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) (2006), and the 2013 Curriculum from competency aspects, practical aspects, and knowledge construction aspects. The results showed that, there were discrepancies in the Student Worksheet (LKPD) of the urine test on competency aspects, practical aspects, and knowledge construction aspects. Practically, the urine test Student Worksheet (LKPD) analyzed can be carried out properly, but some Student Worksheets (LKPD) are not in accordance with the predetermined standards. In addition, the existing Student Worksheets (LKPD) from the Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK) (2004), Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) (2006), to the 2013 Curriculum, there is no change in the working procedures from the Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK). (2004) to 2013 Curriculum. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct the urine test Student Worksheet (LKPD) as an alternative to practicum in order to construct knowledge and develop students' thinking skills, so that practicum activities become more meaningful.
