Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of Facility and Safety Management (MFK) at the Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital (RSJ). This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The informants for this research are MFK implementers, namely the K3 committee/installation, management, structural officials and visitors. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews. Examination of the trustworthiness of the data in this research includes credibility and dependability. Data analysis uses the thematic analysis model. The result of this research is that the evaluation of MFK implementation at the Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital (RSJ) is less active in involving K3 installations in the planning process up to the evaluation. Implementation of Facilities and Safety Management (MFK) can run well if there is a clear priority scale and results that can be measured according to targets. It is necessary to improve the implementation and socialization of programs, such as the Hospital Disaster Plan, Contractor Safety Management, and fire protection systems that need to be identified and periodically evaluated for the security and safety of all those in the hospital environment. The four phases in the PDSA cycle have not run optimally. Increasing human resource capacity, managerial commitment, K3 structure and clarity of funding sources are still obstacles. Collaboration between K3 installations and policy makers is needed to reformulate improvements to the implementation of Facility and Safety Management (MFK).

Abstract

West Sekotong Village is one of the coastal water areas included in the Gita Nada Aquatic Tourism Park (TWP) area which has a seagrass habitat. Seagrass beds in West Sekotong are threatened due to increased tourism and community activities. This research aims to determine the distribution and extent of seagrass beds on the coast of West Sekotong-TWP Gita Nada. This research uses a remote sensing approach through interpretation of Landsat 8 OLI imagery. This research consists of 2 steps, namely image data processing and supporting data. Image data processing includes several stages, namely image data collection, geometric correction, radiometric correction, image cutting, image composite, image data sharpening, image data interpretation, accuracy testing, area measurement, and final layout. Supporting data was obtained by searching related literature, interviews and surveys of activities that have the potential to have an impact on seagrass ecosystems. The research results show that the distribution of seagrass in West Sekotong-TWP Gita Nada covers the coast of the large island (mainland) and the coast of small islands. The distribution of seagrass on the mainland is found on the coasts of Medang, Tanjung Kelor, Batu Kijuk, Tawun, Labu, Kelapa, Pandanan, Gili Genting, Labuan Petung, Temeran, and Gawah Pudak. In the coastal areas of small islands, seagrass is found on Gili Sudak, Gili Tangkong, Gili Nanggu, Gili Poh, and Gili Lontar. The total area of seagrass beds in West Sekotong is around 144.68 ha. On the mainland coast the area is 118.96 ha (82.2%) and on small islands the area is around 25.72 ha (17.8%). The distribution of seagrass in West Sekotong is influenced by many factors, among which those observed in this research are the type of substrate, the presence of river estuaries, and the use of land and coastal waters.

Abstract

This study aims to investigates the link between early marriage and parenting styles among parents of children aged 3-5 years in Awang Village, Central Lombok, Indonesia. This study employs an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were gathered from 42 mothers who married before the age of 20. The research instrument is a questionnaire to collect information about socio-demographic and parenting style information, categorized as democratic, authoritarian, and permissive. Data analysis was conducted in two stages: univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of this study are that (1) a significant association between early marriage and authoritarian parenting styles, with 55% of mothers who married at or below 15 years old displaying authoritarian behavior, and 80% exhibiting permissive tendencies, (2) democratic parenting was exclusive to mothers who married at 16 years or older. Higher education levels were linked to democratic parenting, (3) a significant relationship between early marriage and authoritarian parenting, proven by statistical analysis using Fisher’s Exact Test (p = 0.001). The results suggest that early marriage leads to less supportive and more controlling parenting practices, negatively impacting child development. Thus, addressing socio-economic factors and improving educational opportunities are vital to mitigating the adverse effects of early marriage on parenting styles and child development.

Abstract

The existence of agricultural land is indirectly related to the environment. The existence of agricultural land in terms of environmental aspects can provide five types of benefits, namely preventing flooding, controlling water balance, preventing erosion, and reducing environmental pollution from household waste. This research aims to analyze environmental changes in the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural activities in Palembang City. This research uses quantitative methods, analytical quantitative research is conducted to accept or reject hypotheses that are described by significance values. The research also used qualitative methods by conducting measured interviews with 250 respondents. The research was conducted in May 2023 in three sub-districts in Palembang City, namely Kalidoni, Kertapati, and Gandus sub-districts. The environmental indicators used as a reference include water quality, air quality, soil conditions, traffic conditions, runoff water conditions, plant conditions, and animal conditions. The results showed that the condition of plant environmental quality in the Gandus and Kalidoni sub-districts is classified as poor, while the Kertapati sub-district is in the good category. While the condition of the environmental quality of animal indicators in the Kertapati and Kalidoni sub-districts is in the good enough category, but in the Gandus sub-district it is in the bad category. Dragonfly populations will be high if the habitat conditions are very suitable. This means that there are still streams or puddles that are still clean and food is available. This clean water is the place for dragonfly eggs and images for further development. So if the dragonfly population at a location is still high, it means that the water conditions at that location are still not polluted.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer from gamal leaves contains the nutrients N, P, K, Ca and Mg which are useful in plant growth and vegetative development. This research aims to determine the effect of the best dose of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer in increasing the growth of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This type of research is a pure experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of 5 dose treatments, namely P0 0 ml/l water, P1 30 ml/l water, P2 60 ml/l water, P3 90 ml/l water, and P4 130 ml/l water. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, and leaf width. Next, the data was analyzed using One Way ANOVA 5%. The results of the research showed that the best dose of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer was in the 130 ml/l treatment, namely the highest plant height was 21.50 cm, the largest number of leaves was 11.8, and the largest leaf width was 10.20 cm. The significant value of the 5% ANOVA test results is 0.000. There is a significant value, namely P < 0.05, so gamal leaf liquid fertilizer has a significant effect on each dose of gamal leaf liquid fertilizer on the vegetative growth of mustard greens. The results of the validation analysis of Student Worksheets (LKM) showed that from the three expert validators, an average validation result of 82% was obtained with very good qualifications, and was declared suitable for use as a LKM guide in plant physiology courses.

Abstract

Red calliandra is one of woody plants that has been extensively developed as biofuel. Tissue culture techniques are employed to produce a large and uniform quantity of seedlings in a relatively short period. Previous stages of in vitro initiation and multiplication of shoot from calliandra explants have shown promising results. The shoots that were multiplied by in vitro technique need to be induced for rooting process to produce plantlets. These plantlets are then prepared for the subsequent acclimatization process. This research was conducted in two stages; root induction of shoots using a modification of MS half-strength media (MS ½) supplemented with 1-4 mg/L 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), and acclimatization of the plantlets into soil media. The results shown that MS ½ medium and media supplemented with 1 mg/L NAA were suitable for root induction, particularly to induce the root length. Furthermore, MS ½ media supplemented with 1-2 mg/L NAA stimulates the increment of plantlet height and leaves numbers. Plantlets which were transferred into soil exhibit robust growth during 3-weeks of acclimatization process, up to 100% plantlets survived during this stage. These results underscore the potential of tissue culture techniques in providing large scale calliandra seedlings production for future biofuel development.
