Abstract

Abstract

Abstract This research examines the impact of blue economy factors on economic growth in Sulampua. In this research, the blue economy variable is displayed by the fisheries sector which is proxied by the blue economy variable, which is represented by the fisheries sector which is proxied using marine capture fisheries production. This research used annual panel data at the provincial level in the Sulampua region covering the period 2018 to 2022. The analytical tool used in this research is panel data regression analysis using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The analysis results show that the blue economy factor significantly contributes to economic growth if a country's blue economy is well-mapped, integrated within a strong institutional framework, and based on concrete policies and research. In this way, spillover effects will be created, such as infrastructure growth, creating jobs, and helping to alleviate poverty through the social inclusion of residents of coastal areas. Based on Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Maluku, South Sulawesi, and North Sulawesi have comparative advantages in fishery products compared to other provinces. Keywords: Blue Economy; Economic Growth; Sulampua; RCA Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak faktor blue economy terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Sulampua. Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, apart from adult health, children's healthrequires significant attention. Governmental policies aimed at mitigating thespread of the pandemic have inadvertently restricted children's activities, adversely impacting their health. In Indonesia, many mothers have enteredthe workforce to support their families' health. This study examines the impactof working mother on children's health during the pandemic in Indonesia.Employing logit regression analysis and utilizing microdata from the 2020Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS), the findings suggest that workingmother has the potential to enhance children's health outcomes. Additionally, the health of children is influenced by various sociodemographiccharacteristics of the mother, including her educational attainment, type ofemployment, age, place of residence, involvement in the agricultural sector. The implications of this research highlight the pivotal role of maternalparticipation in the labor market in sustaining children's health in Indonesia.

Abstract

Green growth is an essential issue for many countries due of climate change and global warming. The complexity of environmental problems is increasing along with the rate of economic growth that ignores ecological sustainability. The financial sector is of key supporting factor for green growth. Likewise, Indonesia, as a developing country, requires the financial sector to play of role in achieving sustainable green development. This study aims to analyze the banking performance sector and green growth in Indonesia during the period 1990Q1-2023Q4. This study uses time-series data and the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to analyse the data. The results of the analysis show that the banking performance sector has a positive and significant influence on green growth in both the short and long terms.

Abstract

Energy plays a fundamental role in driving global sustainability, encompassing social, economic, and environmental dimensions. The issue of access to adequate and affordable modern energy remains a crucial problem in various countries, including Indonesia. This condition reflects energy poverty, which has a widespread impact on all aspects of community life. This study investigates the convergence of energy poverty across provinces in Indonesia during the period 2016–2024, using balanced panel data covering 306 observations. This analysis utilizes 34 provinces to ensure data consistency throughout the research period, particularly for the development of the Multidimensional Energy Poverty Index (MEPI). Sigma convergence is assessed based on the evolution of cross-sectional variation in MEPI, while beta convergence is tested using spatial dynamic panel analysis. The research results indicate that energy poverty across provinces experienced both sigma and beta convergence. Per capita GRDP, urbanization rate, energy prices, higher education level, and regional spatial influence play an important role in accelerating the process of energy poverty convergence. Based on these findings, the government is expected to strengthen policies that support the expansion of access to modern energy, as well as encourage the role of socioeconomic factors to accelerate the process of energy equalization across regions.

Abstract

This study measures Food Production Security (FPS) at the village level in DI Yogyakarta across quantity, quality, structure, and ecology dimensions, and analyzes the role of resources, technology, and institutional capacity in supporting food production. Using an Entropy-Weighted TOPSIS approach, complemented by GeoAI modeling and Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR), results show higher FPS scores in urban areas, reflecting structural disparities in production inputs and infrastructure access. FPS is generally positively correlated with the Food Security Index (FSI), yet misalignments signal dual aspects of food security. Spatial analysis highlights heterogeneous and dual-direction effects of capital, technology, climate, and environmental management factors, emphasizing the need for spatial-based policies. Collaborative strategies combining modern agricultural technologies, targeted extension services, and optimized use of organic fertilizers and waste recycling demonstrate potential for sustainable improvement of FPS at village and sub-district levels.

Abstract

Tourism plays a strategic role in driving regional economic growth through job creation, cultural preservation, and equitable development. East Java Province recorded the highest number of domestic tourist visits in 2024; however, not all districts and cities have received digital exposure and infrastructure support proportional to their tourism potential. This study analyzes digital visibility, infrastructure development, and tourist arrivals across 38 districts and cities, and classifies them using descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and K-Means Clustering. Data sources include Google Trends (digital tourism interest), Nighttime Light imagery (infrastructure development), and domestic tourist statistics from BPS. The results identify four clusters with distinct characteristics, with Surabaya City showing high performance in all aspects, while other regions demonstrate strong digital interest but limited infrastructure. The study recommends targeted digital promotion, infrastructure enhancement for high-demand destinations, and strengthened tourism attractiveness in emerging areas, contributing to more efficient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

A healthy underwriting performance is crucial for the sustainability of insurance companies. Effective underwriting enables companies to accurately assess and manage risks, set fair premiums, and avoid unnecessary losses. However, studies on underwriting performance have mostly focused on company-specific factors and/or have only been conducted in developed countries. There is also a lack of specific studies on the role of underwriting performance in sharia insurance (takaful) companies. This study aims to fill that gap by conducting an in-depth analysis of the role of underwriting performance in sharia insurance companies in Indonesia. It also seeks to refine previous research by examining both the short-term and long-term roles of underwriting performance in these companies. The study uses secondary panel data with 20 sharia insurance companies as units of observation. The coefficient estimates in this study are obtained using a dynamic panel data regression approach, to determine the short-term and long-term effects of underwriting performance in sharia insurance. The estimation results of the dynamic panel regression model show that the underwriting variable has a positive and significant effect on sharia insurance premium income, both in the short term (coefficient: 0.1262; sig. 0.021) and in the long term (coefficient: 0.2009; sig. 0.010), with a convergence rate of 2.0697, indicating a relatively fast system adjustment towards equilibrium.
