Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the human resource (HR) development strategies adopted by SD Negeri 1 Jlegong in response to an acute staff shortage. The school is hampered by significant human resource shortages, particularly the absence of two classroom teachers, one physical education teacher, and the crucial position of school janitor. As a result, the principal must assume teaching responsibilities, full-time teachers are assigned outside their primary areas of expertise, and cleaning duties are divided on a rotating basis between staff and students. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that SD Negeri 1 Jlegong addresses these shortages through internal staff empowerment, teacher collaboration, the expansion of the principal's dual role, and a picket system (a mandatory cleaning duty roster). While these solutions are effective in maintaining day-to-day school operations, they emphasize that they are not sustainable long-term solutions unless supported by new government policies for the recruitment of permanent teaching and non-teaching staff. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the education budgeting process at the elementary school level, focusing on the management of regular School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds at Jlegong 1 Public Elementary School. The study focuses on the budget planning, implementation, and accountability mechanisms integrated through the digital School Activity and Budget Plan Application (ARKAS) and the School Procurement Information System (SIPLAH). Fund management is handled by the treasurer and BOS administrator under the principal's supervision, with input from the school committee and parents serving as advisors. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, relying on observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. The findings show that adopting a digital system enhances the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of school financial reports. Nonetheless, some challenges arose, particularly in data synchronization and the limited technical skills of the operators. Overall, participatory and data-driven budgeting strengthens accountability and improves the effectiveness of financial governance in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to explore the interrelation between teachers’ psychological well-being, work meaning, and loyalty in a private vocational high school in West Java, Indonesia. A descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was applied. Data were collected through reflective interviews using Google Forms from six permanent teachers with more than five years of teaching experience. The results revealed that teachers’ psychological well-being is developed through gratitude, adaptability, and social support within the workplace. The meaning of work serves as the main source of emotional resilience, as teachers perceive their profession as a personal calling and a form of social–spiritual contribution. Teachers’ loyalty is not determined by financial compensation but rather by psychological comfort and the family-like atmosphere of the school. These findings highlight that psychological well-being and work meaning serve as the core foundations of teachers’ affective loyalty. Therefore, human resource management in education should prioritize psychological well-being as a strategic effort to enhance teachers’ commitment and performance. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of peers in fostering students’ motivation to complete their undergraduate thesis in the 2019 cohort of the Sociology Education Program. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological approach, utilizing three main stages: data collection, data analysis, and data validation. The findings of this study indicate that peers play a significant role in enhancing students’ motivation to finish their thesis. Peers contribute to the development of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, encouraging students to complete their thesis in a timely manner. Keywords: Motivation, Peers, Final Project, Students. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran teman sebaya dalam menumbuhkan motivasi mahasiswa menyelesaikan tugas akhir di Pendidikan Sosiologi angkatan 2019. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif, dimana pada penelitian ini menggunakan cara tiga yaitu pengumpulan data, analasis data dan pengujian keabsahan data. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teman sebaya memiliki peran penting dalam menumbuhkan motivasi mahasiswa menyelesaikan tugas akhir. Teman sebaya berperan dalam menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik pada diri mahasiswa agar mahasiswa terdorong untuk segera menyelesaikan tugas akhir miliknya. Kata Kunci: Mahasiswa. Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between reading literacy and academic characteristics among university students at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 185 students across four study programs through a timed reading literacy test based on Bloom's taxonomy, comprising 10 items at cognitive levels C2 through C5. Chi-square analysis was employed to examine the association between reading literacy categories (Very Poor, Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good) and demographic variables. Results revealed significant associations between reading literacy and study program (χ² = 25.755, p = .012), gender (χ² = 12.861, p = .012), and academic semester (χ² = 26.786, p = .008). However, no significant relationship was found with GPA (χ² = 13.288, p = .102), school origin (χ² = 2.799, p = .592), or high school major (χ² = 12.506, p = .130). The majority of students (64.3%) demonstrated good to very good reading literacy, with a mean score of 77.44 (SD = 22.02). These findings suggest that institutional and demographic factors play important roles in shaping students' reading literacy competencies, while prior academic achievement may not be a reliable predictor of reading literacy performance in higher education contexts. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara literasi membaca dengan karakteristik akademik mahasiswa di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Psikologi, Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei cross-sectional, data dikumpulkan dari 185 mahasiswa yang berasal dari empat program studi melalui tes literasi membaca terbatas waktu berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom, terdiri dari 10 butir soal pada level kognitif C2 hingga C5. Analisis chi-square digunakan untuk menguji hubungan antara kategori literasi membaca (Sangat Kurang, Kurang, Cukup, Baik, Sangat Baik) dengan variabel demografis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara literasi membaca dengan program studi (χ² = 25,755; p = 0,012), jenis kelamin (χ² = 12,861; p = 0,012), dan semester akademik (χ² = 26,786; p = 0,008). Namun, tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan dengan IPK (χ² = 13,288; p = 0,102), asal sekolah (χ² = 2,799; p = 0,592), atau jurusan di sekolah asal (χ² = 12,506; p = 0,130). Sebagian besar mahasiswa (64,3%) menunjukkan literasi membaca yang baik hingga sangat baik, dengan skor rata-rata 77,44 (SD = 22,02). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa faktor institusional dan demografis memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk kompetensi literasi membaca mahasiswa, sementara prestasi akademik sebelumnya mungkin bukan prediktor yang andal untuk kinerja literasi membaca di konteks pendidikan tinggi. Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategies and stages involved in integrating the Go Jamu Sumbar digital microsite into the learning process and to evaluate its effectiveness in enhancing literacy development among junior high school students in West Sumbawa Regency (KSB) across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The research engaged key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Culture, school principals, teachers, and students from ten pilot junior high schools. Data were collected through observations, structured tests, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Employing a qualitative research design grounded in the post-positivist paradigm, the study was conducted in natural settings using an inductive approach that emphasizes meaning rather than generalization, with participants selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the main strategies for implementation include socialization, teacher training, integration of digital technology into daily school routines and curricula, innovation in creative and physical literacy activities, utilization of digital infrastructure, enhancement of teachers’ digital competencies, classroom mentoring, strengthening of students’ interest and motivation, as well as institutional support and government policies through regional literacy initiatives. In conclusion, the Go Jamu Sumbar digital microsite has been effectively integrated into ten pilot junior high schools, contributing significantly to literacy development by fostering students’ critical awareness, motivation, and independent learning culture. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of school management in implementing the "7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children Program" as a strategy for engineering a character-based school culture. Amidst the moral crisis among students and the challenges of digital disruption, the gap between character education policies and operational practices in schools has become a crucial issue. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design at SMPN 3 Baleendah, Bandung Regency, this study examines managerial dynamics through the lens of Deming's PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The research findings indicate that: (1) The Planning stage of the 7 Habits Program at SMPN 3 Baleendah is not merely an administrative task but serves as a crucial foundation for the school’s transformation. The planning is carried out in a structured, data-based, and participatory manner, ensuring that the program truly aligns with students’ character-building needs and complies with national policies; (2) The Do stage was driven by the instructional exemplary leadership and integration of the hidden curriculum; (3) The Check stage applied fact-based management that revealed the gap between public and private character; and (4) The Act stage ensured sustainability through external correction mechanisms and internal standardization (refreezing). The study concluded that the integration of PDCA quality management discipline with transformational leadership is a determining variable in realizing a character-based school ecosystem.

Abstract

Indonesia's education system has undergone a long historical evolution, beginning with the colonial era, progressing through nationalization after independence, and continuing into the digital age. In the 21st century, global demands have encouraged substantial reforms in educational management, ICT integration, curriculum development, and the revitalization of national philosophical values. This article presents a comprehensive review of national academic publications (2021–2025) to map developments, challenges, and reform directions within Indonesia's education system. Findings indicate that the major obstacles include weak school management, digital inequality, low teacher competencies, uneven access to education, and insufficient integration of philosophical foundations into educational practice. Conversely, opportunities for improvement arise from the expansion of ICT-based management systems, the modernization of school governance, the strengthening of character education, and the adoption of progressive educational principles. The study concludes that Indonesia's educational transformation requires a synergistic approach combining managerial reform, technological advancement, philosophical grounding, and increased educator competence. Abstrak: Sistem pendidikan Indonesia berkembang melalui proses historis panjang, mulai dari pengaruh kolonial, nasionalisasi pendidikan, hingga era digital saat ini. Memasuki abad ke-21, tuntutan global mendorong transformasi besar dalam manajemen pendidikan, integrasi ICT, pembaruan kurikulum, serta revitalisasi nilai-nilai filosofis nasional. Artikel ini menyajikan kajian komprehensif terhadap artikel ilmiah nasional (2021–2024) untuk memetakan perkembangan, permasalahan, dan arah pembenahan sistem pendidikan Indonesia. Analisis menemukan bahwa tantangan terbesar mencakup rendahnya kualitas manajemen sekolah, kesenjangan digital, lemahnya kualitas guru, ketidakmerataan pendidikan, dan kurangnya integrasi filosofi pendidikan dalam praksis pendidikan. Di sisi lain, peluang penguatan pendidikan muncul dari pemanfaatan ICT, manajemen modern, penguatan pendidikan karakter, pengembangan sistem informasi manajemen, serta penerapan prinsip progresivisme dalam pendidikan. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa transformasi pendidikan Indonesia hanya dapat terjadi melalui sinergi antara pembaruan manajerial, teknologi, filosofi nasional, dan penguatan kompetensi pendidikan. Rekomendasi diarahkan pada penguatan tata kelola sekolah, investasi digital, perbaikan distribusi guru, dan reformasi kurikulum berbasis karakter dan teknologi. Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of madrasah principal leadership on teacher OCB at Muhammadiyah Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Kartasura District. This study uses a quantitative approach utilizing a survey method. The study population consisted of 111 teachers, with a sample of 87 permanent teachers, selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were then analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings revealed that the leadership of the madrasah principal had a positive and significant effect on teachers' OCB, with a significance value of 0.011 (less than 0.05). However, the R² value of 0.073 indicates that leadership can only explain 7.3% of the variation in OCB, while the remaining 92.7% is influenced by external variables such as self-efficacy, perceptions of organizational justice, work culture, and religious values. The findings of this study reinforce the view that OCB among teachers in religious-based madrasahs is predominantly shaped by intrinsic motivation and organizational climate, rather than by formal leadership instructions. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala madrasah terhadap OCB guru di MI Muhammadiyah se-Kecamatan Kartasura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan memanfaatkan metode survei. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 111 guru, dengan sampel 87 guru tetap, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proporsional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket tertutup yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala madrasah memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap OCB guru, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.011 (kurang dari 0.05). Meskipun demikian, nilai R² yang mencapai 0.073 menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan hanya mampu menjelaskan 7,3% variasi dalam OCB, sedangkan 92,7% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel eksternal seperti efikasi diri, persepsi keadilan organisasi, budaya kerja, dan nilai keagamaan. Temuan penelitian ini memperkuat pandangan bahwa OCB guru di madrasah yang berbasis nilai religius lebih dominan terbentuk oleh motivasi intrinsik dan iklim organisasi, bukan oleh instruksi kepemimpinan formal. Abstract

The Independent Curriculum provides flexibility for educators to develop student-centered learning, including the strengthening of character values in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile. However, the digital era presents new challenges, such as low levels of teachers’ information technology competence, limited infrastructure, unequal access to technology, and weak supervision of students’ gadget use. This study employs a literature review method by examining scientific journals, academic articles, books, research reports, and official policy documents published between 2019 and 2024. The analysis is conducted descriptively by identifying key themes related to the challenges and opportunities for strengthening character through the Independent Curriculum in the digital era. The results and discussion indicate that the main challenges include limited teachers’ digital literacy, disparities in facilities among schools, minimal collaboration between schools and parents, and difficulties in integrating character values into digital learning. Nevertheless, technology has the potential to support character internalization through interactive learning media, digital projects based on the Pancasila Student Profile, collaborative platforms, and ethical digital literacy. Strategies for strengthening character include integrating character values into digital learning design, technology-based learning models, meaningful digital literacy, teachers’ digital role modeling, school–parent collaboration, and digital-based school programs. Improving teacher competence, ensuring equitable facilities, and fostering synergy with families are key to the successful implementation of this curriculum. Abstrak: Kurikulum Merdeka memberikan keleluasaan bagi pendidik untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa, termasuk penguatan nilai karakter sesuai Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur dengan menelaah jurnal ilmiah, artikel akademik, buku, laporan penelitian, dan dokumen kebijakan resmi yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2019–2024. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan mengidentifikasi tema utama terkait tantangan dan peluang penguatan karakter melalui Kurikulum Merdeka di era digital. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi keterbatasan literasi digital guru, kesenjangan fasilitas antar sekolah, minimnya kolaborasi sekolah orang tua, serta kesulitan mengintegrasikan nilai karakter ke dalam pembelajaran digital. Meski demikian, teknologi memiliki potensi mendukung internalisasi karakter melalui media pembelajaran interaktif, proyek digital berbasis Profil Pelajar Pancasila, platform kolaboratif, dan literasi digital yang etis. Strategi penguatan karakter mencakup integrasi nilai karakter dalam desain pembelajaran digital, model pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, literasi digital bermakna, keteladanan digital guru, kolaborasi sekolah–orang tua, dan program sekolah berbasis digital. Peningkatan kompetensi guru, pemerataan fasilitas, dan sinergi dengan keluarga menjadi kunci keberhasilan implementasi kurikulum ini.
