Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze, (a) mathematical achievement capability of student after learning by Generative model, (b) mastery learning of student after learning by Generative model, and (c) student activities while learning Generative models. This research is directed to class action research in one of public high school in Garut as population subject are all eleventh-grade student by taking one class of 41 students as a sample. The result of research shows, (a) mathematical achievement capability of student after learning by Generative model have been changed (increased) in score that received by student, of cycle I to cycle II, of cycle II to cycle III, and of cycle III to cycle IV, (b) mastery learning of student after learning by Generative models not reached yet on cycle I, but reached on cycle II, cycle III, and cycle IV, (c) Learning Condition of implementation of Generative Model have been increased to be better and student learning activity have been increased to be better too.

Abstract

Kegiatan penelitian merupakan salah satu bagian dari tridharma perguruan tinggi, sehingga baik mahasiswa maupun dosen berkewajiban untuk melakukan kegiatan penelitian tersebut. Dalam melakukan penelitian, salah satu kegiatan peneliti adalah harus melakukan analisis data statistik. Kenyataan di lapangan pengolahan data ini masih dianggap hal yang sulit, sehingga perlu diupayakan jalan keluarnya untuk mengatasi persoalan tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini diungkap mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan mahasiswa dalam melakukan praktikum analisis data statistika, diantaranya faktor kesiapan mahasiswa dalam mengikuti perkuliahan, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah statistik secara teoritik, kualitas proses pembelajaran, dan tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai sarana dan prasarana laboratorium komputer. Dari hasil penelitian ini terungkap bahwa: dari masing-masing faktor tersebut berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan besar pengaruh sebagai berikut: 1) pengaruh kesiapan mahasiswa terhadap kemampuan praktikum sebesar 22,2%; 2) pengaruh kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah statistik secara teoritik terhadap kemampuan praktikum sebesar 19,2%; 3) pengaruh kualitas proses pembelajaran perkuliahan praktikum analisis data statistika terhadap kemampuan praktikum sebesar 28,9%; serta 4) pengaruh tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai kondisi sarana dan prasarana laboratorium komputer yang digunakan untuk pelaksanaan praktikum terhadap kemampuan praktikum sebesar 30,6%; Adapun pengaruh secara simultan dari keekmpat faktor yang diteliti sebesar 96,4%.

Abstract

Untuk mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan nasional dibutuhkan pengetahuan, kecerdasan, keterampilan, kemandirian, kreatifitas, inovasi yang dilandasi komitmen tanggung jawab pendidikan baik horizontal maupun vertikal yang dilandasi nilai-nilai keimanan dan ketakwaan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, dimulai para pengambil kebijakan sampai ujung tombak di lapangan. Salah satu cara yang dapat ditempuh dalam meningkatkan guru yang kompeten dan profesional itu melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan yang dapat mengakomodasi, membekali dan memfasilitasi mereka untuk melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya tanpa harus meninggalkan sekolah tempat bertugas, berlatih sambil bekerja, berlatih untuk memenuhi tuntutan kerja.

Abstract

In general students assume that statistics is scary enough course because the material requires a lot of counting. The purpose of this research is to compare Statistical communication ability between students who received MS Excel with students who received SPSS. The research method is experiment method by taking two classes as research samples. The first experiment class received MS Excel and the second experiment class received SPSS. The research materials include two test average of the dependent samples, two test average of independent samples, one way ANOVA test, regression, and simple correlation. The research results by using independent t-test, one way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, as well as further Post Hoc test using Tukey HSD test with significant level of 0.05 conclude that: 1) Statistical communication ability of students who got MS Excel was better than those who got SPSS. 2) The increase in statistical communication ability of students who got MS Excel is better than those who got SPSS. 3) The increasing achievement of statistical communication, based on students' early capability (low, average, high), of those students who got MS Excel was better than those who got SPSS for the students who have low and average level. For students who have high level there was no significant difference in students who got MS Excel than those who got SPSS. 4) There was no interactive influence between learning model given and students early capability toward statistical communication ability.

Abstract

Mathematics is a discipline that all the concepts, principles, theorems, axioms, rules. It can stand alone or can be connected to the field, the other disciplines. Because mathematics is the queen of sciences. Mathematics is not only connected to other disciplines, but also there is a connection with everyday life. Mathematical concepts with everyday life are a human life. Human life on earth is temporary given time only, whether the people life could not be judge by anyone. Thus, analogous to the way of life of each human being is considered as the line function and then each man eventually leading to death or converge to zero in a line function of real numbers, if this function is approaching to zero, its means that one day the people life has ended.

Abstract

The number of foods from each group must be balanced, balanced diet is a diet that contains a source of energy (carbohydrates and fats), builders and other sources regulator suitable for the needs of each person. The number of calories needed depends on the type of work, age, gender, physical condition (healthy / ill), weight loss and climate. The heavier the work or activities of more and more food is needed. By counting calories required to use the system and body by BMI (body mass index) can control our body to maintain good health because of the calorie count and know their BMI. It may reduce the risk of various diseases such as cardiovascular, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, fatty liver, osteoarthritis. The World Health Organization (WHO) decided BMI of less than 18.5 as underweight and may indicate malnutrition, BMI 25-29 should be considered overweight and a BMI over 30 is obese.

Abstract

Implementing PMRI in teaching process using a little sheet box and straw as a media for helping students in learning commutative and associative properties in integer numbers is the aim of this study. Design research is used as appropriate means to achieve the aim; conducted in three phases: preliminary design, teaching experiment (first and second cycle), and retrospective analysis. This study enables students to work with contextual situations within integer numbers of properties; uses media tool (a straw and little sheet box). Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) underlies the design of the context and the activities. Sample of population is students from Madrasah Ibtidaiah Negeri 1 Palembang. This study involves fourth grade students, 3 students in first cycle and 36 students in second cycle (4 students were analyzed in detail). The result of this study could show that the activities could bring students’ learning from the contextual situation to more formal situation. The activities within this study have been succeeded to be implemented in this school so that these activities could be used for the others.

Abstract

This study was intended to know students’ achievement and ability development in mathematical problem solving through contextual learning. This study was conducted in experimental method comparing the mathematical problem solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach and students that were taught by conventional learning. This research design used pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of grade VIII at a school with 80 students from two classes as sample subject. The experimental group was taught using contextual learning and control group was taught using conventional approach. The instrument which was used in this study is mathematical problem-solving ability test and student affective scale based on Likert scale. From this study, it can be concluded that: 1) the mathematical problem-solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach is better than students that were taught using conventional approach; 2) the development of mathematical problem-solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach is better than student that were taught using conventional approach; 3) the students showed positive affective in contextual learning.

Abstract

Thinking is one human trait. Since can perceive, people begin to think, and this process continues until the end of his life. Attitude and way of thinking can be developed through a process of learning mathematics because mathematics has a structure and a strong and clear linkages intracompany so anyone who thinks rationally skilled study. Therefore, learning how mathematics can be implemented so as to cultivate students' mathematical power. Mathematics curriculum should be designed not only for students continuing on to higher education but also for entering the job market. Focus of the curriculum can be examined from three aspects, namely Intended Curriculum, Curriculum Implemented and Attained Curriculum. Learning process must be conducted in accordance with the class learning objectives to be achieved. Also, it can also refer to the implementation of the curriculum in other countries.

Abstract

The Purpose of research is to know the differences of ability problem-solving mathematics between students who get Problem Based learning (PBL) with Jigsaw and for now response students the model of learning who give. The results this research indicate: Not differences of ability problem solving mathematics between students who get Problem Based learning (PBL) learning with the students who get jigsaw learning. Response the students between experiment class 1 who get learning of model Problem Based learning (PBL) with the students who get learning of model jigsaw, Response the students show positive response although sometimes their students who show negative response.
