Abstract

Nurses are the main lead in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic as if they are risking contracted by Covid-19. High stress during a pandemic has an impact on psychological problems, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, decision-making difficulty on triage, and fatigue in which those can decrease the immune systems. The aim of study was to identify the dominant factors related to the incidence of Covid-19 in nurses. This observational study used Cross Sectional Study design and consecutive sampling techniques at 136 respondents. Questionnaires was used as instruments tested by validity and reliability to measure Fatigue, Psychological Problems (Depression, Anxiety, Stress), Decision-Making Ability of Triage-EWS Screening Covid-19, Vaccination history, risks of exposure, PPE usage and Covid-19 Incidents. Dominant factor analysis was assessed using multivariate analysis by logistic regression test. Based on the results of the logistic regression test, it was found that the risk of exposure to Covid-19 was the dominant factor with the incidence of Covid-19 among nurses in the pre-intra-hospital settings with significance of the test results p value <0.0. Handling of Covid-19 incidents in health workers is crucial. It has been clear that the risk of exposure to people who are confirmed positive can increase the incidence of Covid-19, so it necessary to make prevention program by implementing physical distancing and increasing activities that impact on increasing of immunity.

Abstract

The ethanol extract of guava leaves (Psidium guajava L) in previous studies was known to have antiburn, antiinflammatory, antidiarrhea and antibacterial activity. The preparations made are gel preparations which are preferred by the public. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of guava leaf ethanol extract gel and its effective concentration in healing burns in rabbits. The research method uses rabbits 4 tails made 5 wounds on the back, consisting of negative control, comparison (Bioplacenton®), gel preparations 3%, 5%, and 11%. Wound diameter measurements were carried out on days 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. The parameters observed were the size of the wound diameter, wound healing such as wound drying, scab formation, closure of the wound and the growth of new hair around the wound. An inflammatory process occurs for 3 days after injury and not processed wound healing. Fibroblasts appeared on day 6 and peaked on day 9, so that on day 9 all treatment and control groups experienced linear healing. On the 9th day the fibroblasts began to peel off on the skin indicating the group has reached the peak of the proliferation phase and wound contractions occur gradually urgent. The results of the guava leaf extract gel activity test (Psidium guajava L) showed a concentration of 11% gave the best effect.

Abstract

South Africa, a country rich in history and natural beauty, also faces serious challenges in the health sector, especially maternal and child health. Maternal and infant mortality rates are still high, inequality in access to health services, low levels of education and knowledge of reproductive health, as well as problems of malnutrition and HIV/AIDS are the main focus of discussion. Although the government has launched programs to improve maternal and child health, funding challenges and disparities in health resources between regions still hinder the achievement of equitable health coverage. This article highlights the importance of increasing health budget allocations, building first-level health facilities, improving the skills of health workers, reproductive health education, nutritional interventions, and multi-stakeholder cooperation to overcome these health challenges.
