Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the marketing communication strategies of the film Mappacci, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its distribution process toward entering the national film industry. The research was conducted at PT 786 Production and Timur Picture. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed to provide a comprehensive picture of the film’s marketing strategy. The study discusses how the film Mappacci managed to penetrate the national film industry despite the challenges faced by local films in competing with dominant national and international productions. The findings reveal that Mappacci implemented an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) approach by combining both online and offline communication channels. However, not all elements of the marketing mix (7P) were optimally utilized. Supporting factors for its success include the strength of local cultural narratives and strong community engagement, while inhibiting factors involve limited distribution networks, restricted market access, and constrained promotional capacity. This study concludes that the success of Mappacci cannot be separated from the implementation of an integrated marketing communication strategy. Nevertheless, further optimization of all marketing mix elements is required to achieve more sustainable competitiveness in the national film industry.

Abstract

Instructional communication plays a central role in shaping meaningful learning experiences, particularly within student-centered and dialogical educational paradigms. This study aims to explore the forms and implementation of instructional communication in English learning based on the Finnish educational approach at Mutiara Insani Junior High School, Purwakarta. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research focuses on English teachers and eighth-grade students as the main subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings reveal that instructional communication in English learning is implemented in multimodal and contextual forms, including verbal-bilingual communication, nonverbal communication, media-supported communication, hands-on activities, collaborative interaction, and affective communication. Teachers position themselves as facilitators who encourage dialogue, provide constructive feedback, and create a psychologically safe learning environment. The integration of Finnish-based learning principles emphasizes student-centeredness, joyful learning, contextual relevance, and minimal exam orientation. Supporting factors include positive teacher–student relationships, flexible teaching strategies, and the use of varied media, while inhibiting factors involve differences in student proficiency, emotional readiness, time limitations, and vocabulary constraints.

Abstract

Maritime safety is a fundamental element in supporting secure, efficient, and sustainable sea transportation, particularly in strategic maritime regions such as Makassar. This study aims to analyze the effect of SBNP (Sarana Bantu Navigasi Pelayaran) management and employee performance on maritime safety at the District of Navigation Type A Class I Makassar. The research adopts a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 100 respondents, with instruments measured through a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using validity tests, reliability tests, multiple linear regression analysis, partial tests (t-test), simultaneous tests (F-test), and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results of the validity and reliability tests confirm that all research instruments are valid and reliable, indicating strong internal consistency. The partial regression analysis reveals that SBNP management does not have a statistically significant effect on maritime safety, suggesting that the mere availability and procedural management of navigational aids are insufficient to directly enhance safety outcomes. In contrast, employee performance shows a positive and highly significant influence on maritime safety, highlighting the critical role of human resources in ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and responsiveness of navigational systems. Simultaneously, the F-test results indicate that SBNP management and employee performance together have a significant effect on maritime safety. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination demonstrates that 94.2% of the variation in maritime safety can be explained by the combined influence of SBNP management and employee performance, while the remaining 5.8% is affected by other factors outside the model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of business synergy and digital orientation on university performance. Ninety respondents from various universities were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Smart PLS software to test the structural model and relationships between variables. The results indicate that business synergy significantly influences university performance, while digital orientation does not. These findings highlight that improving university performance in the digital era depends on the institution's ability to develop digital capabilities and implement them effectively in a structured manner. The main limitations of this study lie in the relatively small sample size and the use of cross-sectional data. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size and employ a longitudinal approach to obtain more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between recreational exercise and intrinsic motivation in final year students of the Sport Science Study Program, Semarang State University, class of 2022, in completing their theses. Using a quantitative correlational approach with a descriptive design, a sample of 23 students was drawn through purposive sampling, and data were collected via the IPAQ short form questionnaire for physical activity and the IMI for intrinsic motivation. Analysis included normality, linearity, and Spearman correlation tests using SPSS 26. The results showed a "high" level of physical activity (average 1637,348 MET-minutes/week), "fair" intrinsic motivation (average 5.67/7), an abnormal distribution of physical activity (sig. <0.05), normal motivation (sig. >0.05), a linear pattern (sig. 0.509>0.05), but no significant correlation (sig. 0.874>0.05). In conclusion, the frequency of recreational exercise was not significantly related to increased intrinsic motivation for the thesis, likely due to the homogeneity of the sample. The frequency of recreational exercise was not significantly related to increased intrinsic motivation for the thesis, possibly due to the homogeneity of the sample.

Abstract

Land as a fixed asset of local government carries extraordinary strategic value not merely as material wealth, but equally as an instrument of development and a source of Regional Own Revenue (PAD). Yet in practice, land asset management across many Indonesian regencies and municipalities remains far from ideal. This study examines the safeguarding of land fixed assets implemented by the Regional Financial and Asset Agency (BKAD) of Bandung Regency one of West Java's regions with the highest recorded land asset value. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, field observation, and documentary analysis, the study reveals that the implementation of three asset safeguarding dimensions administrative, physical, and legal as formulated by Suwanda (2013) continues to face serious structural challenges. Of 2,350 registered land parcels, only 483 had been certified as of July 2023, while the full-year certification output for 2022 amounted to a mere 37 parcels. The novelty of this study lies in the identification of three interconnected root causes: inter-agency (SKPD) data disconnection, a deficit in field supervisory human resources, and an accumulation of unresolved historical land ownership problems. Together, these three factors form a vicious cycle that systematically undermines the effectiveness of land asset safeguarding. The study recommends an Integrated Land Asset Security Model (ILASM) built on three pillars: data governance reform, institutional capacity strengthening, and a risk-prioritised land certification acceleration programme.

Abstract

This study analyzes military professionalism in democratic political systems through a comparative examination of Indonesia and Japan. It focuses on how military institutions in both countries implement key principles of professionalism, including political neutrality, civilian control, and the restriction of military involvement in politics. The research employs a qualitative comparative approach using a most-different systems design to capture variations across distinct historical and institutional settings. Data are collected through a literature review and in-depth interviews with a defense official and an academic expert, and are analyzed using thematic coding based on the selected indicators. The findings reveal that Japan demonstrates a more consolidated form of military professionalism, characterized by a clear institutional separation between military and political spheres, consistent civilian supremacy, and strong internalization of neutrality norms. In contrast, Indonesia has established formal democratic mechanisms to ensure civilian control but continues to face practical challenges due to the extensive involvement of the military in domestic affairs. This condition reflects a hybrid model of military professionalism, where formal subordination to civilian authority coexists with flexible roles beyond core defense functions. The study concludes that military professionalism is shaped not only by institutional design but also by historical legacies, state capacity, and the degree of normative internalization, which collectively influence the quality of civil-military relations in democratic systems.

Abstract

Effective communication plays a central role in the success of educational processes, organizational performance, and the development of students’ learning outcomes. In educational institutions, particularly within formal schooling and madrasah contexts, communication functions not only as a medium for transferring knowledge, but also as a strategic instrument for shaping attitudes, motivating learners, and building constructive relationships between educators, students, and the wider educational environment. This study focuses on examining the importance of effective communication in supporting teaching–learning activities and improving educational performance. The discussion emphasizes how communication patterns, interpersonal interactions, and instructional communication contribute to students’ motivation, comprehension, and academic achievement. Furthermore, the study highlights the interconnection between communication, leadership, family involvement, and learning environments in influencing educational success. By integrating perspectives from communication science, educational psychology, and learning theory, this research underscores that ineffective communication can hinder learning processes, create misunderstandings, and reduce institutional effectiveness. Conversely, well-managed communication enhances clarity of instruction, strengthens teacher–student relationships, and fosters a positive educational climate. The findings suggest that educators and educational leaders must continuously develop their communication competencies to respond to the challenges of modern education, including technological change and diverse learner characteristics. Strengthening effective communication practices is therefore essential for achieving educational goals and improving overall learning quality. This study contributes to the understanding of communication as a foundational element in education and offers insights for educators, school leaders, and policymakers in designing communication-oriented educational strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of organizational communication in improving the performance of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Mappakasunggu District, Takalar Regency, and to identify the obstacles that arise in improving the performance of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Mappakasunggu District, Takalar Regency. The approach used in this study was descriptive with a qualitative approach. This study was conducted at the Mappakasunggu District Office, Takalar Regency from November to December 2025. The informants in this study were five. The results of this study indicate that organizational communication plays a very important role in optimizing the duties and responsibilities of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) as public servants. Through the flow of information, direction, and interaction between leaders and subordinates, organizational communication plays several important roles: an informative role, a performance motivation role, a role in building and strengthening cooperative relationships, and a communication role in providing services. Therefore, organizational communication plays an integral role in creating an efficient, collaborative, and creative work environment for Civil Servants (ASN) at the Mappakasunggu District Office. Barriers to the role of organizational communication in improving Civil Servants (ASN) performance include ineffective communication, differences in personality and experience, and inadequate resource constraints. These barriers can hinder the smooth flow of information, reduce Civil Servants' motivation, and hinder the achievement of organizational goals and optimal public service.

Abstract

The development of maritime transport is influenced not only by governance structures, but also by the complexity of policies arising from the interaction of various interrelated factors. In practice, policies often have cross-regional impacts, face funding constraints, and are supported by data systems that are not yet integrated. This study aims to analyse the complexity in the development of maritime transport through the Special Autonomy Fund in South Sorong Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study strategy. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and subsequently analysed using an interactive model. The findings reveal that policy complexity is reflected in three key aspects. Firstly, externalities and spillover effects that result in uneven policy impacts across regions. Secondly, limited funding mechanisms that rely on higher levels of government. Third, data fragmentation hinders evidence-based decision-making processes. These three aspects interact with one another and form systemic complexity in policy governance. Policy complexity requires a more integrative and adaptive approach. Policy management cannot be carried out in a linear manner, but must be able to accommodate interactions between factors within a dynamic system.
