Abstract

Teenage daughters with anemia problems will experience reduced immunity, disturbed concentration, decreased learning performance, fitness problems, productivity, increased risk of death during childbirth, premature birth, and lower baby weight. Consumption of blood supplement tablets can help prevent anemia. The aim of this study is to find out the role of Posyandu Remaja in preventing teenage girls in the Puskesmas Kramat region from developing anemia by 2024. This kind of research is qualitative, so the data comes from observations, interviews, and documentation. Nine informants are composed of health care personnel, chief cadres, teen cadres and teen princesses. In the work area of Puskesmas Kramat, teenage posyandu plays an important role in preventing anemia in teenage daughters. They act as health service providers (motivators, instructors, facilitators, counsellors), connectors between the community and health workers, provide posyandu locations for program interventions, and encourage adolescents to come to posyande. In the case of teenage daughters who take blood supplement pills, the role and posyandu can give a positive effect. This can reduce the number of cases of anemia.

Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is a global phenomenon with well-known causes and serious health, social and economic impacts. Globally, the Adolescent Birth Rate (ABR) is decreasing, but the rate of change is uneven across regions. Adolescent mothers (aged 10–19 years) face a higher risk of eclampsia, puerperal endometritis, and systemic infections than women aged 20–24 years, and infants of adolescent mothers face a higher risk of low birth weight, preterm birth, and neonatal emergencies. The purpose of this study was to analyze and explore the stress levels of adolescent mothers with PPNMSS in unintended pregnancies. The research method used was a mixed method with a Sequential Explanatory Design approach. The sample in this study was 45 adolescent pregnant women and those who were used as qualitative research informants were adolescent pregnant women who experienced severe stress. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection using the PPNMSS questionnaire and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was carried out using univariate tests with the aim of describing the characteristics of informants and the stress levels of pregnant women. In the bivariate test with the chi square test through SPSS version 25 aims to see what is related to the stress level of pregnant women who are teenagers. While qualitative analysis can be done after finding pregnant teenage mothers with the highest scores who experience stress during pregnancy. The analysis used with thematic analysis with Nvivo 12 Plus software starting from data collection, data reduction, data display, verification and confirmation of conclusions (conclusion drawing and verification). The results of the study showed that pregnant women who were teenagers were mostly 19 years old (33.0%), the majority of junior high school education (42.0%), the majority of teenage mothers did not work (80.0%) and the majority experienced severe stress (29.0%). Based on the Pearson chi-square value (0.001; 0.024; 0.029) showed a relationship between age, education and work with the stress level of pregnant women who were teenagers. The research theme consists of factors causing Unwanted Pregnancy (KTD), coping strategies for Unwanted Pregnancy, the impact of Unwanted Pregnancy. Conclusion: High stress on unwanted pregnancy and high desire among adolescent couples to have abortion, highlight the need for coping strategies and information support from health workers, especially through social media promotion.

Abstract

Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is a critical endocrine disorder that occurs when a newborn's thyroid gland fails to produce adequate thyroid hormones, leading to potential developmental and intellectual disabilities if left untreated. Early detection through neonatal screening programs is essential for preventing these adverse outcomes and ensuring timely intervention. This study investigated the knowledge, family support, and attitudes of pregnant women regarding congenital hypothyroidism (CH) screening at the Ujanmas Health Center in 2024. The research employed a cross-sectional design with accidental sampling, involving 33 respondents. The research subjects are third-trimester pregnant women who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study uses the Spearman rank correlation test with an alpha of 0.05. The findings indicated that 42.4% of the respondents had poor knowledge of CH screening, while 24.2% had good knowledge. A significant positive correlation was found between knowledge and attitudes (P = 0.005, CC = 0.475), and between family support and attitudes (P = 0.034, CC = 0.371). The study concluded that enhancing knowledge through targeted educational programs and increasing family support are crucial for fostering positive attitudes and higher participation rates in CH screening programs.

Abstract

Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) is a significant complication in pregnancy, posing increased risks of morbidity and mortality for both mother and baby. Previous studies have shown varied results regarding the association of maternal age and parity with the incidence of PROM. This study aims to analyze the relationship between age and parity with the occurrence of PROM at Dr. H. Mohamad Rabain Hospital in 2023. A case-control design was employed with a total sample of 352 respondents, divided into case and control groups. The majority of respondents were aged between 20-35 years (76.6%), and most were multiparous (67.6%). Statistical analysis revealed no significant relationship between age and the incidence of PROM (p-value 0.063; OR 0.608; CI 95% 0.372-0.996). However, a significant association was found between parity and the occurrence of KPD (p-value 0.000; OR 0.608; CI 95% 0.372-0.996). The study concludes that age is not a significant factor in the incidence of PROM at Dr. H. Mohamad Rabain Hospital in 2023, while parity shows a significant relationship. Further research is recommended to explore other potential factors influencing the occurrence of PROM.

Abstract

Babies are the most beautiful gift given by the creator to man. Exclusive breastfeeding can also help the baby for growth and development later. Physically he gets enough nutrition, far more than everything the world has to offer. The aim of this study is to explore the effects of consuming Katuk leaf stew on breastfeeding mothers' breast milk production in the Trumon Health Center Area, South Aceh district. The research design applied is qualitative, incorporating pseudo-experimental methods. In this study, all 15 participants were mothers who breastfeed, with a total of 15 individuals included in the sample selected through Total Sampling. Various methods are involved in collecting data, including primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. The data analysis involves employing both univariate and bivariate analysis techniques, alongside utilizing the chi-square test. The research findings showed that most participants, around 80. 0%, were between the ages of 20 and 30. Additionally, all 15 individuals (100%) receiving katuk leaf stew reported an enhanced breast milk production. Giving a decoction of katuk leaf vegetables to nursing mothers affects milk production.  Conclusion of this research giving a decoction of katuk leaf vegetables to nursing mothers affects milk production. It is expected that breastfeeding mothers are able to further improve the health of mothers and babies, especially breastfeeding mothers know more about the benefits of katuk leaves so as to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 75% of women in the world experience vaginal discharge at least once in their lives, and 45% experience it twice or more. Factors that influence are lack of knowledge and attitudes in maintaining the cleanliness of the feminine area. Some adolescent girls sometimes take this vaginal discharge problem lightly. Thus, efforts are needed to improve knowledge and attitudes about the problem of vaginal discharge. This study uses descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach, the sample used was 98 female adolescents in grade XI IPA. The researcher's goal is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes with the incidence of vaginal discharge in adolescent girls. Statistical tests using the Fisher Exact Probability Test with the highest frequency of knowledge, namely the good category of 78 respondents (79.6%), attitude, namely the good category of 75 respondents (76.5%), it is known that the knowledge value is (p = 0.119 > ? = 0.005) meaning that there is no relationship between knowledge and the occurrence of vaginal discharge, while attitude is (p = 0.003 < ? = 0.005) meaning that there is a relationship between attitude and the occurrence of vaginal discharge.
