Abstract

The weakening of family-based Islamic education due to social change, digital media penetration, and limited parental capacity necessitates the involvement of socio-religious actors at the community level. In this context, Islamic women’s organizations play a strategic role in strengthening family-based Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the role of the Regional Administrator of Muslimat Al-Washliyah in Medan in fostering religious values, moral development, and worship practices within the household. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with organizational leaders and members, observations of religious gatherings and Islamic parenting programs, and analysis of organizational documents. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data credibility. The findings indicate that the Regional Administrator of Muslimat Al-Washliyah in Medan performs educational, socio-religious, and women empowerment roles in strengthening family-based Islamic education. These findings imply the importance of reinforcing the role of Islamic women’s organizations as strategic partners in developing contextual and sustainable family-based Islamic education policies and practices.

Abstract

Musyarakah is one of the cooperative agreements in Islamic economics that has a normative basis in the Qur'an and hadith. However, differences in interpretation of the verses of ahkam and the quality of the hadith used as a legal basis often lead to debates in the determination of laws and their implementation in contemporary sharia economic practices. The main issue in this study is how the basis of interpretation and hadith ahkam on musyarakah and the methods of istinbat law used by scholars in determining its permissibility. This study uses a qualitative method with a normative-doctrinal approach through library research, analyzing verses from the Qur'an, hadiths on muamalah, books of tafsir ahkam, and classical and contemporary fiqh literature. The results of the study show that musyarakah has strong shar'i legitimacy, even though some of the arguments are implicit and require contextual interpretation. Authentic hadith and hadith whose sanad are disputed substantially emphasize the importance of honesty, trustworthiness, and fairness in business cooperation. The differences in views among the madhhabs regarding musyarakah are methodological in nature and do not negate its permissibility. With the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah approach, musyarakah remains relevant and applicable in modern Islamic economics as long as it is carried out in accordance with the principles of justice and shared responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the dynamics of religious moderation among Generation Z in Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency. The focus of the study is directed at how Generation Z interprets the concept of religious moderation, how these values are manifested in daily life practices, and the factors that influence the formation of moderate attitudes. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Research informants consisted of university students, school children, local community youth, as well as educational and religious leaders who interact with Generation Z in the area. The results show that Generation Z's understanding of religious moderation is in the fairly good category, although it is still influenced by variations in educational background, family, and social environment. The practice of religious moderation is seen in interfaith interactions, participation in joint social activities, and an open attitude towards differences in belief. However, these dynamics are also influenced by challenges such as the flow of unfiltered digital information, religious content that tends to be exclusive, and the influence of peer groups. The main supporting factors arise from the role of families, schools/campuses, and social communities that encourage understanding of diversity and interfaith dialogue.

Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 has brought fundamental transformations to education through the integration of intelligent technologies oriented toward human well-being. However, in practice, this development also generates serious challenges, particularly the potential dehumanization of education due to the dominance of technology and instrumentalistic approaches to learning. This article aims to examine the urgency and direction of reconstructing humanistic education in responding to the era of Society 5.0 through dialogue and synthesis of humanistic and critical educational thought. This study employs a qualitative–conceptual literature review method, utilizing critical analysis of educational, humanities, and Society 5.0-related literature. The findings indicate that humanistic education plays a strategic role as a value-based foundation in maintaining a balance between technological advancement and the strengthening of human dimensions in education. The reconstruction of humanistic education in the era of Society 5.0 involves reorienting educational goals, transforming the role of educators, developing dialogical and reflective learning processes, and internalizing ethical values, empathy, and social responsibility. This article is expected to provide a conceptual foundation for the development of future educational paradigms that are adaptive to technological change while remaining firmly oriented toward human values.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have transformed the evaluation process in Islamic Religious Education, shifting the focus of assessment from cognitive aspects to include affective and psychomotor aspects as well. However, digital-based evaluation still faces various challenges, such as low student integrity, smartphone misuse, limited supervision, disparities in technological proficiency, and internet connectivity issues. This study aims to analyze the challenges of assessment in Islamic Religious Education in the digital age, as well as strategies for monitoring smartphone use to enhance the effectiveness and integrity of assessment. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review, examining relevant journals and books. The results indicate that digital assessment offers efficiency and flexibility but also creates opportunities for academic dishonesty and learning distractions. To address these issues, schools implement strict supervision, restrictions on smartphone and app usage, the development of analysis-based questions, and the instillation of integrity values. Therefore, digital literacy and effective supervision are essential for supporting meaningful and accountable learning assessments in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the husband’s provision (nafkah) as the foundation of family stability and harmony within the perspective of Islamic family law, while also examining the challenges that arise in the digital era. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through open-ended online questionnaires distributed to nine married respondents who are active social media users during the period of December 2025 to February 2026. The data were analyzed through triangulation with the Qur’an, hadith, the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), and the Family Stress Model. The findings indicate that provision is an absolute obligation of the husband, encompassing the fulfillment of both material and emotional needs in accordance with his economic capacity and the social conditions of the community. Proportional fulfillment of provision contributes significantly to the wife’s psychological well-being and the resilience of the family. However, exposure to lifestyle content on social media has the potential to trigger social comparison, dissatisfaction, and psychological pressure that affect household harmony. To address these challenges, it is necessary to strengthen the values of qana’ah (contentment), financial transparency, digital literacy, and effective communication so that families remain harmonious and resilient amid the rapid development of digital technology.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Islamic educational perspective on the Sara Pataanguna philosophy of the Buton community. The discussion focuses on three aspects: the philosophical foundations of Sara Pataanguna, the concepts of Islamic education reflected in its values, and the relevance of Islamic educational concepts to the philosophy. This research employs a library research method through the examination of books, scholarly journals, and other scientific works relevant to the topic. Data were collected from various academic sources and analyzed using philological, theoretical, philosophical, and anthropological approaches. The findings reveal that Sara Pataanguna contains Islamic educational values that correspond to the fundamental dimensions of Islamic education, namely aqidah (faith), ibadah (worship), and akhlaq (morality). The philosophy emphasizes the development of human character through the cultivation of akhlaq al-karimah (noble character), reflecting educational efforts that are consistent with the objectives of Islamic moral education. Furthermore, the humanitarian values embedded in Sara Pataanguna are highly relevant to the goals of Islamic education, as they encourage self-awareness, social responsibility, mutual respect, compassion, and obedience to Allah as the foundation of harmonious human relationships.
