Abstract

Religious character development cannot be achieved solely through classroom instruction but also requires learning experiences that enable students to internalize religious values in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Religious Education values in fostering students’ religious character through scouting extracurricular activities at SMK Islam Kunjang Kediri. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, scout leaders, and students. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of Islamic Religious Education values was carried out through the strengthening of aqidah, habituation of worship practices, and the cultivation of akhlaq integrated into school culture and scouting activities. Scouting activities contributed to the development of discipline, responsibility, cooperation, independence, courage, simplicity, as well as social and environmental awareness. The findings confirm that the integration of Islamic Religious Education values into scouting activities is effective in strengthening students’ religious character.

Abstract

This study examines social and cultural factors as determinants of divorce in the Banyuwangi Religious Court during 2020–2025. Divorce cases remained consistently high, ranging from 5,570 to 6,091 annually, with wife-initiated divorces rising from 68.8% in 2020 to 75.25% in 2025. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through interviews with the Chief Judge and analysis of ten divorce rulings issued between 2021 and 2025. Four key socio-cultural determinants were identified: the influence of social media in shaping unrealistic marital expectations; shifting gender roles linked to women’s growing economic independence; cultural acculturation through Banyuwangi’s tourism sector, which heightened risks of infidelity; and economic vulnerability exacerbated by inadequate pre-marital preparation, addictive behaviors, and the prolonged impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The study also reveals an epistemological gap between complex social realities and administrative legal classifications, as diverse marital conflicts are often grouped under the broad category of “continuous disputes.” These findings highlight the need to strengthen pre-marital education, culturally responsive family mediation, and more comprehensive divorce recording systems to support effective family resilience policies.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of violence in childrearing has intensified the need for more humane and child-centered parenting approaches. While contemporary parenting theories advocate non-violent education, misconceptions surrounding certain prophetic traditions are still frequently used to justify harsh disciplinary practices in Muslim families. This study aims to examine the concept of non-violent parenting in the Hadith through a thematic (hadith maudhū‘ī) approach and to analyze its relevance to contemporary parenting theories. Employing a qualitative library research design, data were collected from authentic hadiths related to child education and analyzed through thematic classification, contextual interpretation, and comparison with positive parenting and emotional regulation frameworks. The findings reveal that Prophetic parenting emphasizes compassion (raḥmah), gentleness (al-rifq), role modeling, dialogical communication, gradual habituation, and proportionate discipline rather than physical punishment. The study proposes the concept of Humanistic Prophetic Parenting, integrating thematic hadith analysis with modern parenting principles. This model provides a theological and psychological foundation for promoting child-friendly parenting and preventing violence against children in contemporary Muslim families.

Abstract

The growth of the digital gold market in Indonesia has attracted the interest of Muslim investors who are focused not only on financial gains but also on adherence to Islamic principles. However, research on the interaction between psychological factors and religious values in investment decision-making remains limited. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework that integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Islamic finance principles, and behavioral finance perspectives to explain digital gold investment behavior. This framework views religious values and cognitive biases as interacting factors in shaping perceptions, evaluations, and investment decisions. Based on Islamic teachings regarding justice, honesty, and the avoidance of speculative practices, this study argues that religious commitment can mitigate the influence of biases such as overconfidence, herding, and loss aversion. Furthermore, the implementation of Sharia compliance through transparency, clear asset ownership, and ethical accountability has the potential to encourage more rational and long-term-oriented investment behavior. This framework offers both theoretical contributions and practical implications for the development of a trustworthy, inclusive digital gold ecosystem that aligns with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study examines hadiths concerning trustworthiness (amanah) and fulfilling promises (wafa’ bil-‘ahd) within the Kutub al-Tis‘ah as fundamental ethical values in Islam. These values play a crucial role in shaping individual character, strengthening social trust, and reflecting the quality of faith. The study aims to analyze the meanings, thematic dimensions, and contemporary relevance of hadiths related to trustworthiness and promise-keeping. A qualitative approach was employed using library research methods, drawing on primary data from the Kutub al-Tis‘ah and supported by relevant scholarly literature. Data were analyzed through thematic (maudhu‘i) hadith analysis, including takhrij, textual interpretation, and contextual examination. The findings reveal that trustworthiness and fulfilling promises are central indicators of Islamic moral integrity and authentic faith, while betrayal of trust and breaking promises are portrayed as characteristics of hypocrisy. The study concludes that these prophetic teachings remain highly relevant for contemporary life, particularly in education, leadership, social relations, and professional ethics, contributing to the development of responsible, honest, and trustworthy individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Islamic values and representations of romanticism in Korean dramas as they relate to the partner preferences of Generation Z Muslim women. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving eight Muslim women aged 18–29 who actively watch romantic Korean dramas. Data were collected via an open-ended online questionnaire and analyzed using thematic analysis through the stages of open coding, categorization, theme identification, and interpretation of meaning. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The results indicate that romance in Korean dramas is primarily interpreted as a reflection of healthy relationship qualities, including emotional maturity, supportive communication, responsibility, empathy, and a sense of security. The formation of partner preferences occurs through a process involving media exposure, internalization, evaluation, value negotiation, and preference reconstruction. The findings also indicate that the influence of Korean dramas is not deterministic. Informants actively select values they consider aligned with the principles of Islamic Family Law—such as religion, morality, responsibility, and respect for one’s partner—while rejecting values that conflict with Sharia. This study confirms that preferences for a life partner result from a negotiation between media representations, individual experiences, and Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to identify themes in hadith regarding the etiquette of reading the Qur’an, analyze the ethical, spiritual, and pedagogical dimensions contained therein, and explain their contribution to contemporary Islamic education and Qur’anic literacy. This study is motivated by a trend in Qur’anic education that places greater emphasis on the technical aspects of recitation rather than on strengthening ethical and spiritual values. The research employs a thematic literature review method using a qualitative approach. Primary data sources consist of hadiths contained in authoritative hadith collections, while secondary sources are drawn from relevant scholarly articles and academic literature. The data were analyzed through a process of coding, categorization, and thematic synthesis. The results revealed four main themes: spiritual and physical preparation before recitation; engagement of the heart through tadabbur; recitation in a measured and balanced manner; and respect for the Qur’an in both personal and social contexts. These findings affirm that the etiquette of reciting the Qur’an based on hadith contributes to the strengthening of spiritual character, the development of reflective Qur’anic literacy, and the formation of a holistic and transformative Islamic pedagogy.

Abstract

TikTok has become a major platform for producing and disseminating gender narratives in Indonesia, including those concerning the domestic roles of husbands and wives. This study examines the representation of patriarchy in TikTok content through the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah. Using a qualitative approach with qualitative content analysis, ten TikTok videos were purposively selected from four relevant hashtags in April 2026. Data were analyzed using semiotic analysis and normative evaluation based on Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah. The findings identify three narrative typologies: Type A (critique of patriarchy, 60%), Type B (reproduction and legitimization of patriarchy, 30%), and Type C (contrastive narratives, 10%). Despite its lower frequency, Type B generated higher average viewership, suggesting greater algorithmic visibility and cultural acceptance. From the Maqāṣid perspective, patriarchal narratives potentially undermine ḥifẓ al-nafs, ḥifẓ al-nasl, and ḥifẓ al-'aql by diminishing women's dignity, weakening family relationships, and reinforcing ideological echo chambers. The study concludes that Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah offers a constructive framework for fostering reciprocal, just, and compassionate marital relationships based on mu'āsharah bi al-ma'rūf.

Abstract

This study examines the role of daycare caregivers in instilling Islamic values in early childhood at Rumah Bune Islamic Daycare, Bekasi. Previous studies have predominantly focused on formal teachers, while the contribution of caregivers who interact intensively with children through daily caregiving activities remains underexplored. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings show that caregivers perform a strategic informal tarbiyah role through three mechanisms: habituating worship and thaharah within daily caregiving routines; providing direct role modeling through eating, sleeping, personal hygiene, and religious practices; and affectively reinforcing Islamic values through intensive attachment-based relationships. These findings demonstrate that caregivers are not merely childcare providers but also informal tarbiyah agents who complement the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing children's Islamic character. The novelty of this study lies in conceptualizing caregivers as a “Tarbiyah Bridge” that connects formal academic learning spaces with children's everyday life experiences, a perspective that remains underexplored in the literature on Islamic early childhood education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Digital transformation encourages Islamic higher education institutions to develop more flexible, efficient, and integrated academic management systems. One form of this transformation is the implementation of virtual classroom management, which not only supports the learning process but also has the potential to optimize academic scheduling and the organization of academic activities. This study aims to analyze virtual classroom management in Islamic higher education institutions, examine its contribution to scheduling effectiveness, analyze its role in optimizing academic activities, and identify the challenges of its implementation. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were obtained from relevant scholarly journal articles, academic books, policy documents, and other relevant sources, which were analyzed through content and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that virtual classroom management through the integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital scheduling systems can improve academic management efficiency, reduce scheduling conflicts, accelerate information dissemination, and support the organization of learning activities. However, its effectiveness is influenced by infrastructure readiness, digital literacy, pedagogical competence, and institutional governance.
