Abstract

The wrong body position of workers while working can cause the risk of work accidents and cause complaints of illness, which will have a direct impact on reducing the worker's work productivity. To anticipate this, companies can improve work processes and activities to reduce risks or musculoskeletal complaints experienced by workers. Through the Quick Exposure Check (QEC) method carried out on workers, especially in the production section, workers' complaints due to incorrect work posture in the musculoskeletal area (back, shoulders, neck, arms and wrists) will be known so that recommendations can be made regarding process improvements. work for production workers and can reduce the risk of work-related injuries from the results of this analysis. From the research results, it was found that the QEC value for workers carrying out grinding/chopping, washing and drying work processes and activities was 65.34%; 60.79% and 64.77%, so there is a need for continued research and changes to workers' work processes and activities. With these changes, workers will be able to do work comfortably and reduce the risk of injury or musculoskeletal complaints in workers when doing work. Abstract

The development of industry in this current era is progressing rapidly, marked by increasing competition among companies. The method used is the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). With this method, data obtained includes a total number of both good and defective products, which are then classified into several predefined defect categories by the company. Based on the data analysis results from July 2022 to December 2022, PT ABC  identified four types of defects in packaging products. These defects include sticking with a defect percentage of 54%, cracking at 27%, coloring at 18%, and scratching at 2%. Improvement efforts can be made through training, guidance, and supervision of operators to enhance product quality. Additionally, strict supervision of raw materials in packaging production is necessary to ensure their quality is maintained. Furthermore, the machine setting process also requires supervision and guidance, with the implementation of clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each product. Abstract

PT. A is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry with products produced in the form of (dies, jigs, and parts manufacturing). During the activity, the CNC milling machine Milltex Vex 580b experienced engine damage which resulted in the machine working unproductively and affecting the level of effectiveness of the CNC milling machine Milltex Vex 580b. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a method consisting of availability level, quality level, and performance level as a measurement of optimal machine performance tool productivity to maintain the effectiveness of a machine. To eliminate losses using Six Big Losses which are six big losses that can affect the level of machine effectiveness, the average OEE result is 69% where this result is still below world-class standards. This is due to losses caused by a reduction in loss speed of 42%. By analyzing the fishbone diagram (consequences) of this method, it can be concluded that the cause of the low effectiveness value in machine performance is due to the level of availability which is influenced by the reduction in loss speed.           Keywords: Effectiveness, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Six Big Losses

Abstract

One of the most important things for companies, especially those operating in the manufacturing industry, is inventory. Often there is a shortage or excess of stock in companies when inventory control is still not optimal. PT. ZZ is a manufacturing company which supplies consumable goods with 1 inch paper duct tape as supporting goods in the excavator assembly process. These goods often experience stock shortages so that the production process is disrupted. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to carry out an analysis using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) approach to determine order size, order frequency, safety stock, and reorder point. The results obtained were a Total of 892.23 orders, with orders made twice a year and an interval of 130 days. Apart from that, a safety stock of 89 pcs was also produced and are order point of 115 pcs. Furthermore, according to company policy, all costs required to purchase consumable materials such as 1 inch paper duct tape are IDR 1,632,200. Meanwhile Rp. 290,196.61 is the amount needed if applying the EOQ approach. This means that the company can save IDR 1,342,003.39 if the company controls its procurement of goods using the EOQ approach. Keywords: Consumables, Economic order quantity, Inventory, Procurement

Abstract

Competition in the business world is getting tougher, encouraging companies to improve and develop the quality of their production, the quality of the goods or services produced will affect the competition of a company. Making the production process more effective is something that companies must do to increase production results and can affect company costs. PT.GCE is a manufacturing company operating in the Sheet Metal sector and the production process takes place on a job order basis. In the production process, various deviations and obstacles often occur which result in products experiencing non-conformities, both in product form and processing time. The Six Sigma method is a business strategy that is considered capable of improving and maintaining a company's operational excellence. The results of calculations carried out using the DMAIC method in the Part End Plate production process obtained data on 0.048 defects in the non-conforming product category and 0.084 defects in untidy products, so it can be concluded that defects in Part End Plate products are below 3.4 defects out of a million opportunities. From the calculation results, it was found that the factors causing defects in the Part End Plate production process could be caused by several factors experienced, including machine and labor factors. It is necessary to propose improvements that can be made in an effort to reduce the level of product defects in Part End Plate products so that defects no longer occur in the product. Abstract

Maintenance of the ship is a task aimed at ensuring that the ship continues to operate in a normal and seaworthy condition. This work is related to the ship's machinery system and other equipment on board. If the ship does not receive regular maintenance, it can impact the condition and performance of the ship. By implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), information about the steps needed to ensure optimal operation of the engine or equipment can be obtained. RCM is a method used to develop Preventive Maintenance. In Time Directed (TD), there are two components, namely the schottel Asd component and the valve on the cylinder head. In Condition Directed (CD), there are three components found in the three pipe components: fuel pipe, oil, and engine coolant. In Failure Finding (FF), there are four components found in the seachast component, injector pump, fuel filter, and air. Based on the application of the RCM method used, the recommended maintenance actions for the Finding Failure (FF) category include daily, weekly, and monthly inspection activities. Meanwhile, for the Time Directed (TD) category, maintenance actions involve scheduling component replacements based on predetermined intervals. Keywords: FMEA, LTA, Maintenance, RCM
