Abstract

The phenomenon of criminal acts involving minors in Indonesia, especially in the Kayong Utara Police area, West Kalimantan, has become a serious concern in the context of law enforcement. Cases involving children as perpetrators or victims of criminal acts pose a challenge to the justice system, given the differences in the legal treatment of children and adults. This study aims to analyze the forms of criminal acts involving minors in the area, as well as their impact on law enforcement, both in terms of the implementation of child protection regulations and applicable legal procedures. Through this study, it is expected to find a solution to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement and provide maximum protection for children involved in criminal acts.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly individuals across countries has brought about new health challenges, one of which is the rising risk of Alzheimer's disease, characterized by progressive cognitive decline. A major problem identified in this study is the lack of public awareness regarding non-pharmacological preventive measures for Alzheimer’s. The objective of this activity is to educate elderly participants about effective preventive strategies, including physical activity, reminiscence therapy, and proper brain nutrition. The method used was a psychoeducational seminar conducted on May 20, 2025, in Jakarta, with 15 elderly participants. Evaluation was performed using a pre-test and post-test design, analyzed with the Wilcoxon test. Results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge after the seminar (p = 0.003), with the majority demonstrating improved post-test scores. The findings suggest that community-based health education is highly effective in improving elderly understanding of Alzheimer’s prevention. Collaborative efforts between community organizations and health institutions are needed to expand such outreach. This study also serves as a practical model for community service programs that can be replicated in other demographic contexts to promote brain health literacy and preventive behavior.

Abstract

Cikakak Village was designated as an advanced category tourist village based on the Banyumas Regent Decree Number /556/166/Year 2020, established on March 20, 2020. Based on literature review, many studies have not yet addressed the aspect of empowerment strategies based on local wisdom in developing a tourist village into an advanced tourist village. Therefore, this study aims to examine the community empowerment strategies based on local wisdom in developing Cikakak Village into an advanced tourist village. This is important so that the success of this village can serve as an example or model for other tourist villages to improve their classification to become advanced tourist villages. This research was conducted using a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the managers of Cikakak Tourist Village and parties familiar with the management activities of Cikakak Tourist Village. Informants were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection methods included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using interactive analysis according to Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that the development of Cikakak Tourist Village is carried out through a series of strategies focused on community empowerment based on local wisdom. The empowerment approach based on local wisdom aims to maximize the utilization of natural wealth, cultural heritage, as well as local skills and knowledge passed down through generations. The strategies implemented include preserving religious and cultural activities as the identity of Cikakak Tourist Village, innovating craft and culinary products unique to Cikakak Tourist Village, and promoting Cikakak Tourist Village through social media, collaboration, and participation in tourist village competitions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategy in increasing tourist visits to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Lumajang. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative model, data was gathered through in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, including the Tourism Agency, tour managers, and tourists. The results of the study show that all the main elements of IMC have been implemented, including advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, direct marketing, interactive marketing, and word of mouth. This strategy has proven effective in increasing the visibility and interest of both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, the active participation of local communities, such as Pokdarwis and tour guides, also contributes to strengthening the tourist experience and enhancing the overall destination appeal. However, the research also identified several problems in the actualization of the IMC strategy, such as illegal collection practices, weak coordination in the management of Grojogan Sewu as a new destination, and the suboptimal utilization of the digital application "Lumajang Tourism." In addition, the lack of periodic evaluation and consistency in promotional messaging also presents obstacles. As a solution, the researcher recommends strengthening the Community-Based Tourism (CBT) approach so that local communities are not only implementers, but also the main drivers in tourism promotion. By integrating the principles of IMC and CBT, tourism development can proceed in an inclusive and sustainable manner, with significant implications for enhancing the welfare of local communities.

Abstract

This article examines the use of WhatsApp chats as evidence in Indonesian court proceedings, a matter of growing relevance due to technological advancements in digital communication. The research evaluates the legal validity and evidentiary weight of WhatsApp chats, focusing on applicable regulations and judicial practices. Using case studies and juridical analysis, the study explores authentication and verification challenges for digital evidence—specifically WhatsApp conversations—in legal contexts. Results indicate that while Indonesia’s legal framework (including the ITE Law and PERMA No. 1 of 2024) recognizes electronic evidence, persistent issues include chat manipulation risks and non-standardized submission protocols. The paper emphasizes establishing technical standards for digital evidence and advocates for reinforced verification mechanisms. These findings carry significant implications for legal practitioners and policymakers, proposing regulatory and procedural enhancements to safeguard electronic evidence integrity within the judicial system.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Amirudin Tamoreka's personal branding strategy in maintaining his image as an incumbent in the 2024 Banggai Regional Election. As a candidate who is running for re-election, Amirudin adopts a polite, communicative, and innovative political approach by prioritizing ethical values and real work. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, with the main informants consisting of the figure of Amirudin Tamoreka, the winning team, and the chairman of the supporting party. The findings of the study show that Amirudin has succeeded in building a strong personal branding based on the eight principles from The Laws of Personal Branding theory by Peter Montoya, namely specialization, leadership, personality, difference, consistency, unity, constancy, and goodwill. The branding strategy carried out through social media, a humanist approach, and real proof of work during the first period, made his image remain positive in the eyes of the public. His success was evidenced by his victory in the 2024 Regional Elections despite facing challenges in the form of negative issues from political opponents. This research shows that planned and authentic personal branding is able to influence public perception and increase the electability of incumbents in local political contests.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of audit committees, institutional ownership, and independent commissioners as part of good corporate governance on earnings management practices in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The research sample consists of 57 energy companies selected through purposive sampling. Earnings management is measured using the Modified Jones Model, while the independent variables are assessed using indices and ratios. The data were analyzed using panel data multiple regression with EViews 12 software. The results indicate that the audit committee has a significant negative effect on earnings management, institutional ownership has a significant positive effect, while the independent commissioners have a negative but statistically insignificant effect. These findings underscore the need to strengthen corporate governance substantively, particularly by enhancing the active role of institutional investors and improving the independence and competence of board members.
