Abstract

Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal death and requires timely treatment. Communication failures during patient handovers often lead to delays in clinical intervention. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of implementing the SBAR communication model on the quality of handover information and the safety of preeclampsia patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design (pre-posttest) with 30 healthcare workers in the maternal care unit using a total sampling technique. The results showed that SBAR implementation significantly improved the accuracy of clinical data (p < 0.05), particularly in the Assessment and Recommendation components. Patient safety incidents decreased dramatically from 14 cases to 1 case during the observation period. The conclusion of this study is that the SBAR protocol effectively improves the quality of communication and the safety of preeclampsia patients through more structured early risk detection.

Abstract

Profitability is one of the main indicators in assessing a company's financial performance. Efficiency in managing working capital, especially cash turnover, receivables and inventory plays a major role in increasing profitability. The pharmaceutical industry experienced significant dynamics during the 2019-2024 period, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the increase in demand for pharmaceutical products, not all companies showed an increase in profitability. Several companies experienced an increase in cash turnover or receivables but were not followed by an increase in Return On Assets (ROA) which indicated a mismatch between operational efficiency and financial performance. This study aims to determine how cash turnover, receivables and inventory affect profitability in pharmaceutical companies. The sample used in this study was 6 pharmaceutical companies. The type of data used is secondary data. Data processing using Eviews. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis. The results of the study showed that cash turnover, receivables and inventory partially or simultaneously do not have a significant effect on profitability. In testing the classical assumption with a normal distribution, there were no symptoms of heteroscedasticity and multicollinearity.

Abstract

The concept of ecological harmony constitutes a fundamental basis in the development of sustainable architecture. Long before the formal emergence of green building principles, Frank Lloyd Wright had implemented ecological ideas through his organic architecture approach. This study aims to examine the influence of ecological harmony concepts in architectural theory on the development of green building design through a case study of Frank Lloyd Wright’s works. A qualitative-descriptive method with a case study approach was applied to three major works: Fallingwater, Taliesin, and the Usonian houses. The analysis employed twelve ecological harmony indicators (I1–I12), covering site integration, landscape, climate response, material use, spatial organization, passive design strategies, indoor environmental comfort, and ecological impact. The results demonstrate that Wright’s works consistently embody ecological harmony principles aligned with contemporary green building concepts. These findings confirm the continued relevance of Wright’s organic architecture theory as a conceptual foundation for sustainable architectural design today.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) aimed to support children’s faith education through the implementation of creative and contextual Christian Religious Education (CRE) at SD Negeri 36 Kota Sorong. The activity was conducted on Tuesday, December 5, 2024, by lecturers of the Christian Religious Education Program at Universitas Victory Sorong in collaboration with CRE students. The main issue faced by the partner school was the low level of students’ interest and engagement in CRE learning due to the use of conventional and less contextual teaching methods. The program employed an educative, participatory, and contextual approach through interactive Bible storytelling, faith-based educational games, children’s worship songs, simple discussions, and reflective activities adapted to the developmental stages of elementary school students. The results indicated an increase in students’ enthusiasm, active participation, and understanding of Christian faith values such as love, honesty, responsibility, and mutual respect. In addition to benefiting students, the program also contributed to teachers’ insights into innovative CRE teaching methods and provided contextual learning experiences for students as prospective Christian educators. Therefore, creative and contextual CRE-based mentoring proved effective in supporting children’s faith and character development in elementary education.

Abstract

The character of children in the modern era is greatly influenced by technological developments, their social environment, and the parenting styles they receive. According to Koesoema (2010), character formation must be carried out comprehensively through an educational approach that incorporates values, knowledge, and role models. Today's children interact not only with their surroundings but also with the challenging digital world. Therefore, shaping children's character requires an active role from various parties, including students as agents of social change. Through outreach and training activities for character development in children, the Teaching Team collaborates with students to provide character education to children and adolescents at the Emmaus Christian Church in Sorong City, using a fun, interactive, and contextual approach. The themes highlighted the importance of responsibility, courage, honesty, and the wise use of technology. This activity demonstrates the implementation of the Developmental Psychology course and our moral responsibility as academics who care about the future of the younger generation. This activity also adheres to Lickona's (1991) perspective, which states that character education must encompass the dimensions of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Therefore, our approach is not only informative but also instills values and encourages concrete action in the children involved.

Abstract

The development and advancement of modern technology have had a significant impact on various aspects of human life, including the faith of young people. Young people living in the digital era are overwhelmed by the flow of information, social media, and technological advancements that influence how they think, behave, and develop their identities, including their faith identity. This study aims to analyze how young people's faith can be built and maintained amidst the challenges of technological advancement by examining the thoughts of Harold Victor L. in his book *Theology and Modern Technology*. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review. The results show that technological advancement is neutral and can be a means of strengthening the faith of believers when used wisely and based on theological values. Therefore, faith formation for young people needs to integrate technological literacy, contextual theological education, and strengthening faith communities that are relevant to current developments.

Abstract

Obesity is a complex condition characterized by excessive accumulation of body fat and is associated with various metabolic disorders and chronic diseases. Its causes are multifactorial, involving genetic, metabolic, behavioral, and environmental factors. An imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure is the primary contributor to obesity development. Pathophysiologically, obesity involves hormonal dysregulation, such as leptin resistance, and insulin resistance that triggers disturbances in glucose and lipid metabolism. The diagnosis of obesity is generally based on Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, while its management includes lifestyle modification, pharmacological interventions, and bariatric surgery for severe cases. Obesity is closely linked to increased risks of cardiovascular, metabolic, hepatobiliary, respiratory, musculoskeletal, and psychological complications. Prevention requires promotive and preventive strategies, including public education, early detection, and community-based interventions. A comprehensive approach is essential to reduce the public health burden caused by obesity.

Abstract

Infanticide accompanied by mutilation represents an extreme form of fatal violence against neonates and poses significant challenges in forensic andmedicolegal investigations. In criminal proceedings, the absence of witnesses and limited non-medical evidence often complicate the determination of the cause and mechanism of death, particularly when mutilation involving sharp force trauma is present. Forensic medicine, through comprehensive postmortem examination and the preparation of visum et repertum, plays a crucial role in providing objective and scientifically valid evidence. This article aims to analyze the mechanism of death in a case of infanticide with mutilation based on external and internal examinations of a neonatal body. This study employed a forensic case report design using data derived from a visum et repertum Pro Justitia. External examination revealed dismemberment of body parts, multiple abrasions, lacerations, and irregular open wounds consistent with sharp force trauma associated with mutilation. Internal examination demonstrated hemorrhagic infiltration of the cranial bones and dilated cerebral blood vessels, indicating vital reactions due to blunt force trauma. These findings indicate that the cause of death was blunt force head trauma sustained while the victim was alive, whereas the mutilation caused by sharp force trauma occurred during the peri-mortem or post-mortem period. It is concluded that visum et repertum provides strong evidentiary value and plays a central role in determining the mechanism of death and supporting legal proceedings in cases of infanticide with mutilation.

Abstract

At this age, older adults typically experience a decline in physical fitness, mental health, and cardiovascular function. Furthermore, unhealthy lifestyles have led to an epidemiological shift, shifting the burden of disease from infectious diseases to non-communicable diseases such as hypertension. Various strategies have been attempted to improve the health and nutritional status of older adults. One such strategy is through regular physical activity and exercise appropriate to the elderly's physical condition. This Community Service program aims to improve the quality of life of older adults and increase stamina through gymnastics in the Bajoe Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area in Bone Regency. The methods used in this Community Service activity include elderly gymnastics to improve quality of life and stamina, counseling, outreach, and coaching on community health programs, as well as training community members to adopt healthy lifestyles. The results of this Community Service activity indicate an improvement in the quality of life of older adults and an understanding of its benefits for their health. The conclusion is that this elderly gymnastics program aims to increase the enthusiasm of residents, especially older adults, in maintaining their health due to the frequent physical and mental health problems that older adults experience.
