Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a condition that is increasing globally. Pharmacological therapy often causes side effects, so many studies have begun to explore natural ingredients such as cinnamon as potential companion therapies in diabetes management. This study aims to review the potential of cinnamon as a natural therapy in managing blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In this study, a literature review method was used by collecting various literature regarding the effect of aromatherapy as an anxiety therapy on students. Study collection was carried out by searching on Google Scholar. The article search technique uses several keywords based on the PICO-S (Population Intervention Compare Outcome-Study Design) technique and specific signs and codes. The keywords obtained are: (1) Cinnamon, (2) Diabetes mellitus, (3) Natural therapy, (4) Diabetes treatment. Article screening was carried out according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Various studies show that cinnamon can help lower blood sugar levels, increase insulin sensitivity, and improve lipid metabolism. Cinnamon supplementation has the potential to be used as complementary therapy in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, further research is needed regarding the optimal dose and duration for long-term therapy.

This study uses a literature-based qualitative descriptive method, with data obtained through reading and note-taking techniques. The analysis shows that inflectional affixes as much as 10.52% (-s, -es, -ed, -er, -est and -ing) and the second derivational affixes as much as 5.78% (-ment, -ness, -ity, -al, -ance, -ence, -ship, -dom, -er, -or, -ist, -ian, -ize, -ify, -ful, -less, -able, -ible, -ous, -ive), produce new words with changes in grammatical category and meaning. Both types of morphemes were found in equal numbers in the analyzed texts. The findings of this study provide insights into how morpheme structure and function affect word formation in English. This understanding is important for vocabulary development, language learning and linguistic analysis. In addition, this study supports the teaching of morphological concepts by providing concrete examples from literary texts.

Abstract

In managing human resource management (HR) to achieve effective and efficient employee performance, synergy is needed to be able to influence success in achieving the vision and mission of an institution, especially a hospital. This study aims to describe and clearly illustrate how HR management synergy is needed for the effectiveness and efficiency of employee performance at Amertha Husada Hospital. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that from the SWOT analysis, there is a strength where the hospital is able to recruit professional experts, but with internal shortcomings, namely long adjustments. Externally, there are many opportunities, one of which is collaboration with other institutions and organizations to recruit good experts, but with threats, namely state regulations and the presence of other hospitals. Therefore, periodic evaluation, supervision and recognition of performance by providing rewards to employees are needed so that they can provide good performance in achieving the hospital's vision and mission.

Abstract

Hospitals become public service buildings that bring together various individuals with diverse characteristics. Therefore, the activities that occur in it will produce various kinds of stigmas or points of view from its users depending on how and from what point of view they see and interpret the activities. This study aims to explore how user behavior settings are formed in a physical setting in a hospital using a phenomenological approach that is presented in a narrative manner. The results of the study using case samples involving childbirth activities concluded that the use of the phenomenological method is very supportive in exploring how users interpret their experiences that occur in a subject in a physical setting until it ultimately affects their stigma or psychology.

Abstract

The Mandalika tourism area has experienced a 25% annual increase in visitor numbers since 2019, generating more than 30 tons of waste per month, with the majority consisting of plastic waste (60%) and organic waste (25%). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of health promotion in waste management in Mandalika. The methods used include surveys and interviews with 200 respondents, consisting of tourists, local communities, and tourism operators. Survey results indicate that 70% of tourists are aware of the importance of disposing of waste properly, but only 45% consistently practice it. Among the local community, 85% support cleanliness programs, but only 50% understand proper waste management, including the separation of organic and inorganic waste. Health promotion interventions conducted through posters, social media, and education in local schools have increased awareness by 30% among the community and visitors. This study found limitations in waste bin facilities, which cover only 60% of public areas, as well as a lack of training for tourism operators on the importance of cleanliness. The study recommends enhancing health promotion programs by expanding cleanliness campaigns, providing waste management facilities throughout tourist areas, and empowering local communities as environmental ambassadors. Collaborative efforts between the government, the community, and tourists are expected to create a cleaner and more sustainable tourism environment.

Abstract

Gestational hypertension is a condition characterized by an increase in blood pressure that occurs during pregnancy, usually after the 20th week. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), gestational hypertension affects approximately 6-8% of all pregnancies worldwide, making it one of the leading causes of maternal morbidity and mortality. This case study aims to analyze the therapeutic management of gestational hypertension in pregnant women according to the literature, following the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM). The presentation of this case study is expected to provide an approach to the management of gestational hypertension in pregnant women, in line with Pharmaceutical Care, to improve the quality of life for both mother and fetus. This research is a case report that uses a descriptive method by analyzing a patient's case. The analysis used to solve the problems in this patient's case uses the Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Planning (SOAP) method. The subjective data analysis of the patient in this case includes a history of current illness, which is hypertension, a history of previous illness, which is hemorrhoids during the first childbirth, and a family history of illness, which is the patient's mother having a history of hypertension. The objective data obtained includes vital signs from March 7, 2018, which showed a blood pressure of 165/110 mmHg, body temperature of 36.8°C, pulse of 74 beats per minute, and respiratory rate of 22 breaths per minute. On March 8, 2018, the vital signs showed a blood pressure of 130/70 mmHg, body temperature of 36.8°C, pulse of 84 beats per minute, and respiratory rate of 22 breaths per minute. The laboratory examination results showed leukocytosis with a value of 13.4 Rb/MMK (normal value 4-11 Rb/MMK), elevated segmented neutrophils with a value of 76.3% (normal value 40-70%), and low blood sugar with a value of 65 (normal value 80-120). The assessment of the therapeutic dosage given to the patient, including Amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times a day to prevent infection, Nifedipine 10 mg 3 times a day to treat gestational hypertension, and Ultraproct N suppository 1 time a day to treat hemorrhoids, was found to be appropriate. The plan for the patient, Ny. E, includes continuing Nifedipine therapy until the target blood pressure is achieved (< 150/80-100 mmHg), dietary changes with a low-salt diet, and lifestyle modifications. In conclusion, the patient, Ny. E, experienced gestational hypertension with a blood pressure of 165/110 mmHg, which is classified as severe hypertension. The therapy given to the patient was found to be appropriate according to the guidelines.

Abstract

The Babak Watershed has 44 dams that operate to meet irrigation water needs in the regencies of Central Lombok and West Lombok. One of the dams in the Babak watershed is the Jurang Sate Dam, which has a service area larger than any other dam in West Nusa Tenggara. Under the condition of irregular water availability, Jurang Sate Dam is required to meet the irrigation water needs of Jurang Sate Hulu, Jurang Sate Hilir, Jurang Batu Hulu and Jurang Batu Hilir, covering an area of 8,671 ha with 3 (three) planting seasons. The research method will focus on primary data processing in the form of field cropping patterns, real time water availability and secondary data in the form of analysis of potential water availability, K factor and FK class and water balance through water sharing system in the field. The results of this research will provide a water shifting method that is the result of an agreement both technically and institutionally
