Abstract

Diversity, a consequence of evolution and globalization, has prompted businesses to reevaluate their organizational structures. This shift has created opportunities for management to harness the valuable perspectives and ideas of diverse employees, which serve as catalysts for success in the intricate and ever-changing business environment. Consequently, the primary objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between employees' perceptions of diversity practices within the organization and their influence on employee productivity, engagement, and performance. Furthermore, the study seeks to ex-plore effective strategies for managing workforce diversity. The ma-jority of respondents belong to the age group of 41 years and above, are female, and are Tagalog employees. Respondents unanimously acknowledged that various diversity practices have a positive impact on employee productivity and overall organizational performance. However, significant organizational challenges such as resistance to change, communication barriers, and resource constraints hinder the successful implementation of diversity programs and, consequently, employee performance. However, there was no significant variation in the influence of diversity practices on employee productivity and overall performance across demographic groupings, such as age, gen-der, and ethnicity. The most effective diversity integration strategies employed within the organization involved regular diversity training programs and the involvement of all employees in diversity initia-tives. Furthermore, integrating diversity into employee performance leads to heightened employee satisfaction and a sense of belonging. Employees become more proactive in their roles when they feel in-cluded and valued within the organizational culture, resulting in ele-vated employee engagement levels in organizations that actively sup-port and promote diversity and inclusion. Furthermore, the integra-tion of diversity in employee engagement leads to diverse perspec-tives that contribute to improved decision-making and enhanced work outputs. The measurement and evaluation framework developed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for Diversity Management has been adapted to assess the impact of diversity initiatives on employee performance. The three-module training program was designed to help small busi-nesses develop inclusive cultures and enabling work environments as well as strategies for bringing in, managing, and retaining a diverse workforce.

Abstract

The emergence of technology significantly affects the transformation of how the local government and its citizens interact through the utilization of the e-government services platform. This study focuses on the impact of e-government technologies on citizen engagement and service delivery in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caloocan City. The results high-light citizens' perspectives on Caloocan's e-government platform, under-scoring concerns, challenges, and suggestions for improvement. Privacy and security rank highly among citizens’ concerns, while language acces-sibility is less of an issue. However, survey data from 250 respondents highlight that 73% expressed satisfaction with the user interface and design of the e-government platform, while 58% trusted the platform's security and privacy measures, though 10% indicated a lack of trust in the system’s data security. To build on this foundation, respondents sug-gest improvements such as better customer support, clearer communica-tion, and training opportunities that could help boost confidence and en-courage active participation. By means of addressing these areas, the platform could be more effectively support the community’s needs, en-hancing trust and fostering a stronger connection between citizens and the local government.

Abstract

The research study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of differen-tiated instruction as a strategy in teaching Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person (IHLP) of one hundred sixty-nine (169) students. The researcher followed a prescribed lesson plan and focused on one ob-jective to meet the expected competency using the students Multiple In-telligences in dividing each class into small groups best suited the study. The study utilized a quantitative research method with a descriptive design to assess the effectiveness of differentiated instruction. To deter-mine the performance of the respondents on the pre-test and post-test using the differentiated instruction, quasi-experimental design is utilized to establish a causal relationship between an independent variable, the differentiated instruction and the dependent variable which is the stu-dents’ performance. T-Test and ANOVA is used to identify the significant differences between the pre-test, post-test, and demographic profile. The findings of the study revealed that majority of student-respondents are female adolescents, belong to a middle-income class fam-ily, are body/kinestic, logic/math, and music styled-learners. The stu-dents performed very satisfactory during pre-test. Differentiated instruc-tion as an intervention strategy was applied to tailor instruction to the learning needs of students based on the Pre-test scores and the students performed very satisfactory during post-test. The ANOVA computation revealed a significant difference between the performance of students during pre-test and post-test. However, no significant difference in the pre-test scores of students when grouped according to sex, age, family monthly income and learning style. A significant difference in the post-test scores of students when grouped according to sex was established. The proposed enhancement to intervention strategies aimed for a differ-entiated output.

Abstract

School leaders at all levels play an essential role in shaping school culture. In their daily work, principals communicate core values. Teachers instill values through their actions and words. Parents boost their spirits by visiting schools, participating in governance, and celebrating success. Communication with internal and external stakeholders is part of the school head's daily work. A day is incom-plete unless there is communication between teaching and non-teaching personnel at the school. Thus, this study used the descrip-tive correlational design to determine if the school head's communi-cation style mediates the effect of the utilization of online communi-cation in building a positive organizational culture. The respondents were the 65 school heads and 349 teachers from the 7 districts in the Division of San Pablo City. The validated survey questionnaire was used to gather the data. The data were analyzed using frequen-cy, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results revealed that the school heads and teachers perceived that the level of school heads' utiliza-tion of online communication, school head communication style in utilizing online communication, and building a positive organiza-tional culture were highly manifested. The test of correlation be-tween the school heads utilization of online communication in building a positive organizational culture is significant. The school heads’ utilization of online communication affects building a posi-tive organizational culture. The school head's communication style mediates the school head's utilization of online communication in building a positive organizational culture in terms of being a super-visor, and manager. The study recommends that the school should always capacitate teachers using various online platforms as inter-net communication has been a part of the system ever since the pandemic.

Abstract

The study employed a descriptive design to gather baseline data on respondents' oral communication skills in English. The results revealed that the majority of respondents were female, aged 19-24, who primarily spoke Tagalog and Ilokano at home, and were mainly in their second and third years of study. Utilizing a 5-point Likert scale for assessment, the findings indicated that respondents were rated as "good" across various dimensions of oral communication, including audience engagement, context, transactional and interper-sonal skills, medium of exchange, and paralinguistics. This overall rating suggests that while their skills are adequate, there is consid-erable potential for improvement to enhance their competitiveness in the job market. As a result, the study underscored the need for a program aimed at strengthening students' oral communication skills in English, with an intervention proposed for review and implementation in the upcoming academic year. Recommendations for program heads and school administrators included incorporating these findings into curriculum evaluations and policy development. Regular curriculum mapping is essential to ensure that course objectives align with the enhancement of students' English oral communication skills. Addi-tionally, it is recommended that training programs focused on im-proving these skills be made available, and that language teachers engage in professional development seminars to refine their in-structional techniques. Furthermore, increasing the number of in-teractive classroom activities is advised to further cultivate stu-dents' oral communication abilities in English.

Abstract

The Philippines currently depends heavily on fossil fuels, which are vulnerable to price fluctuations. In response, the 2023-2050 Philippine Energy Plan sets ambitious targets to increase the share of renewable energy in the capacity mix: 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2040. Achieving these targets require more than just policy—it needs public understanding and support. This study examines public awareness, perceptions, and attitudes toward renewable energy in the Philippines, specifically among respondents from Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna. Through a structured survey of 386 participants, we assessed familiarity with renewable sources like biomass, geothermal, solar, hydro, ocean and wind, finding that while 70% are generally aware of these sources, only 30% know about local projects or government initiatives. The survey results show strong support for renewable energy’s environmental benefits, with 67% of respondents in favor, though 69% express concerns about high initial costs, and 57% are wary of reliability issues. Using statistical analysis, we found that age significantly affects awareness levels (p < 0.001), while gender, income, and location have minimal influence. These insights underline the need for public engagement to support the goals of the 2023-2050 Philippine Energy Plan. Our findings suggest that more targeted education, financial incentives, and community involvement could boost public support and address perceived barriers, providing valuable direction for policymakers to enhance renewable energy adoption across the Philippines.
