Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a prevalent chronic disease among adults worldwide, including in Indonesia. A busy lifestyle and tight routine are some of the reasons why someone does not adhere to hypertension therapy or ignores a healthy lifestyle, such as consuming junk food that is high in fat and sugar, having an irregular activity pattern, and having irregular activity patterns. This study aimed to describe the dietary compliance of hypertensive patients. Methods: The research was conducted using a descriptive design, with the population comprising hypertensive patients, and a sample of 45 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The variable studied was the level of dietary compliance. The inclusion criteria were patients registered at the heart polyclinic and willing to be studied, while the exclusion criteria were suffering from mental disorders or severe complications such as stage 5 chronic kidney failure. The instrument used was the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet compliance questionnaire administered in June 2023. Results: The results indicated that 42.2% of respondents were compliant, 42.2% were moderately compliant, and 15.6% were non-compliant. The conclusion was that nearly half of the respondents adhered to the hypertension diet. Conclusions: It is hoped that nurses can provide Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) to hypertensive patients through comprehensive counseling on hypertension management, emphasizing the importance of adhering to a hypertension diet, antihypertensive therapy, and other healthy lifestyle modifications such as physical activity and smoking cessation, and involving families in improving compliance with the DASH diet.

Abstract

Introduction: The Indonesian National Nurses Association has developed nursing language standards adapted to cultural differences and uniqueness of Indonesian nursing services, namely the Indonesian Nursing Diagnostic Standards. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever cases in Indonesia have experienced a shortening cycle, which has led to a rise in the incidence rate (IR) and a fall in the case facility rate (CFR). This study was to learn how to describe the application of the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI) in documenting nursing diagnoses in children with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Methods: Retrospective descriptive research design with secondary data.  The secondary data used in the study, namely sourced from medical records from February 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022. The number of samples is 30 medical records using the total sampling technique. Data collection using observation sheet. Data analysis uses univariate analysis. Results: Most of the priority nursing diagnosis labels in DHF pediatric patients are by the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards, namely hyperthermia. However, all the writing of actual nursing diagnoses does not comply with the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards, which consists of writing three parts: [problems] related to [cause/related factors] as evidenced by [signs/symptoms], but the writing of nursing diagnoses is only in the form of problems or problems and causes. Conclusions: There needs to be a refreshing knowledge about the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards to improve the knowledge and skills of nurses in documenting nursing diagnoses.

Abstract

Introduction: Cardiac arrest is often found in patients in the inpatient room of Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik. Nurses as the first responders who find cardiac arrest in the treatment room must have high work motivation to provide first aid to patients before the code blue team arrives. The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the work motivation of nurses in providing first aid to patients experiencing cardiac arrest in the inpatient room of Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik. Methods: This study used quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The sample of this study was some of the nurses in the inpatient room of Ibnu Sina Hospital, Gresik, which was taken using a purposive sampling technique of 55 respondents who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. The data was processed using SPSS v.25 for frequency and percentage. Results: The results showed that most respondents had good work motivation, with 53 respondents (96.4%) providing first aid to patients experiencing cardiac arrest. Conclusions: Nurses are expected to maintain work motivation in providing first aid to patients experiencing cardiac arrest, especially in inpatient rooms, through good collaboration between teams, always receiving positive support in the form of recognition of achievements from colleagues, and increasing periodic certification training related to handling cardiac arrest patients because patient safety is the main priority.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is currently happening and is a threat to Indonesia. Planning is needed starting from adolescence, having good knowledge and readiness regarding how to prevent having stunted offspring. The target of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030 includes the second goal, eliminating hunger and all forms of malnutrition and achieving food security, reducing stunting rates by 40% by 2025. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of knowledge and readiness of adolescents to become prospective brides in an efforts to prevent stunting. Methods: This study uses a survey research design with a sample size of 67 adolescents taken in two cities, DKI Jakarta and Surabaya in 2024. This sampling used purposive sampling. The research variables consist of the knowledge and readiness of adolescents as prospective brides and grooms in efforts to prevent stunting. The instrument used was a questionnaire distributed via Google form distributed by researchers in both areas. The data collected used Spearman rank correlation analysis. Results: There is a relationship between knowledge and the readiness of prospective adolescent brides in efforts to prevent stunting (p=0.001). Conclusions: Health education on stunting, nutritional status, and reproductive health during adolescence must be a mutually supportive program between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Culture, both in schools and in integrated “posyandu” that also involve families.

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is defined as kidney damage that lasts long (chronic) and is characterized by a decrease in the kidney's ability to filter blood (GFR). Patients who experience this disease need social support from their families and compliance in undergoing hemodialysis. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between family social support and compliance of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Cibitung Medika Hospital. Methods: The research method used in this study is descriptive correlation. The population in this study were all chronic renal failure patients with stable conditions who did outpatient hemodialysis at Cibitung Medical Hospital in the last 3 months, a total of 99 patients. Results: Based on statistical tests, a p-value of 0.000 with (p < 0.05) means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a relationship between family support and the loyalty of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Cibitung Hospital in 2023. Conclusions: The conclusion in this study is that the majority of families being observed in this study provide full support to patients undergoing hemodialysis and most of chronic kidney failure patients comply with hemodialysis treatment at Cibitung Medika Hospital.

Abstract

Introduction: Effective and efficient media is needed to support nutrition education so that the information conveyed can be well received by its targets. Knowledge about anemia in adolescent girls is often underestimated, so the potential for the development of this disease continues. Lack of understanding about anemia in adolescent girls causes them to have unhealthy eating habits.  One of the interesting media is video which includes the use of animated images, videos, or sounds (audio). The aim study is to investigate the effect of Anemia Prevention Education Using Animated Videos on Knowledge about Adolescent Girls at SMA N 15 Semarang. Methods: The case study method uses a descriptive design with a nursing process approach. The interventions were pre- and post-tests with a sample size of 10 respondents. The educational intervention used animated video media which was played for ± 10 minutes with 2 animated video series. The subjects of this case study are young women who were taken using purposive sampling techniques under the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. Evaluation is measured using Hb levels before and after the session. Results: There was a significant change in participants’ knowledge after using animated videos, namely being in a good category (≥10. Conclusions: The results of this study show that providing education using animation media effectively increases knowledge and Hb levels.
