Abstract

Owning a motivation to learn the English language can act as a catalyst to success in the student’s professional career. Nonetheless, the student’s English proficiency and motivation to learn English cannot be attained unless the teacher implemented some strategies in the classroom. This prompted the researcher to investigate students’ motivation despite their shortcomings in the EFL classroom. The study aims to investigate students’ motivation and explore the teacher’s strategies to motivate students. The study was conducted by a case-study design using secondary students as participants. The findings indicated that the students were equally motivated to learn English, either intrinsic or extrinsic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the Emotional Behavior of Early Childhood in Role Playing Activities at Nadira Kindergarten, Takalar Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data analysis technique used in this study was quantitative using descriptive statistics, the results obtained were that there were 5 children in the 39-46 range in the good category, while 7 children in the 32-38 range were categorized as sufficient, and 4 children were categorized as lacking in range 25-31, thus it can be said that of the 16 children there were 31.25% of the children categorized as good, 43.75% of the children were categorized as sufficient, and 25% of the children were categorized as lacking, the results indicated that the child's emotional behavior had begun to develop, where it can be seen that most children are able to control their emotions, are able to be patient in waiting their turn, and are able to express their emotions while studying.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Pop Up Book Media in science learning. This study is a qualitative research in the form of literature studies. The articles reviewed in this study are articles sourced from accredited journals of at least SINTA 4 published in 2023,2022,2021,2020, and 2019. There are 40 articles collected, but only 20 articles are considered relevant to the focus of this study. 20 this article and all articles related to media Pop up Book on learning science or science content. In this study it was found that the use of Creative Learning media such as Pop Up Book media has a positive impact on the learning process. Pop Up Book Media can improve learning outcomes and can train high-level thinking skills in learners. In addition, it was also found that Pop-Up Book media can provide cognitive reinforcement and increase learner motivation. In certain cases it was found that Pop Up Book media can help improve the understanding of students who have limitations related to science content. In this study it was also found that Pop up Book Learning media can be used in various learning models and can support the scientific literacy of learners.

Abstract

The learning process carried out online after the pandemic is something that needs to be studied and also evaluated, considering that during the pandemic there are obstacles during the learning process. The purpose of this study is to see an overview of the effectiveness of using the Zoom application after the pandemic. This research is qualitative research using the Grounded Theory method. The resource persons in this study amounted to 26 people consisting of students around the campus in Karawang. The data validation technique in this study uses source triangulation which is done by checking data from several sources but with different techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was found that 85% liked face-to-face learning, because face-to-face learning was more communicative, the learning process was more effective. And 58% prefer the Zoom application as the most effective Online learning medium compared to other applications

Abstract

This research aims to develop an electronic English module that can be used by computer/ IT learners do deeply learn computer programming. It employes Research and Development (RnD) method by applying 4D steps namely define, design, develop and disseminate. Questionnaire is used as instrument and curriculum analysis is done to get the whole description and topic analysis. The result reveals that 83% of alumna agreed that computer learner needed the module that contain the definition of word that used in computer. While the curriculum analysis reveals that some main topics consists of 3 main subjects namely Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. There are two experts gave judgement and validation regarding to the product. The first expert is from English Language practitioner that validate and judges the content and language aspects. The result reveals that module got 4,7 with maximal score is 5. The second expert is from computer/ IT practitioner. He concerns on validating material, appearance, and media and technical terms on the module. The result shows that 4.4 with the maximal score is 5. It can be implied that both experts judge module is appropriate to be used as supplementary material for computer course.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to develop encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material supplements in geography learning in Senior High School, (2) to measure the level of validity of encyclopedia- based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School and (3) to measure the level of practicality of encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School. This research is a type of research and development (R&D). The model used is the ADDIE model with five stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in this research are product validity and practicality instruments. The results of this study are 1) products that are declared valid based on product validity tests conducted by 3 expert validators namely; learning design experts, material/content experts, and linguists with an average assessment score from the three validators of 4, 74 and are in the valid category, 2) products that are declared practical based on product practicality tests conducted by 14 test subjects namely students in class XII SMA Negeri 3 Takalar and 1 practitioner namely geography subject teacher with a percentage of assessment response of 86%. Thus it can be concluded that the encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching materials developed are valid and practical. Natural disaster mitigation teaching materials that have been declared valid and practical can then be used in learning geography in high schools, especially on natural disaster mitigation material.

Abstract

Video demonstrations are applied corresponding to direct learning and provide support for students to have complete knowledge that requires repetition in the domination of the concept. This study analyzes the influence of implementing video demonstrations in the direct learning setting of foodstuffs chop on the knowledge level and the performance level learning outcomes. Forty students of the 11th culinary class at SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik were involved in this quantitative study using a pretest-posttest design. This study employed observation and test methods using observation sheets of learning implementation, performance observation sheets, and multiple-choice test questions. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program to answer the proposed hypothesis. The SPSS output shows a significance of .000 <.05, which shows that the application of video demonstrations of foodstuffs chop in direct learning settings has a significant effect on learning outcomes at the level of knowledge. Meanwhile, the SPSS output for performance level learning outcomes shows .000 <.05, it shows that the application of video demonstrations of foodstuffs chop in direct learning settings has a significant effect on performance level learning outcomes. This study recommends using other demonstration videos, such as animated videos, and live videos to find out the effectiveness of each and the teacher can choose the most effective demonstration videos.

Abstract

This studied aims to produce practical and effective cooperative problem solving oriented teaching materials to improve student learning outcomes in optical material. This research was carried out in three stages, namely defining, designing, and developing teaching materials by implementing 4 teaching materials for 18 class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Makassar in the fourth semester of the 2014/2015 school year used the one group pretest posttest design and the results research was analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques. The research data obtained: the validator's assessment of lesson plans, Student Books, LKPD, and assessment sheets with valid categories. Assessment of Student Books and LKS also had a very high level of legibility. The implementation of lesson plans with a score of 3,99 was categorized as well implemented. N-gain student knowledge learning outcomes increased 0,63 and student learning outcomes problem solving skills increased 0,72. Students gave a positive response to the learning activities of the CPS model. The results of the research show that learning tools with the CPS model are valid, practical, and effective for improving student learning outcomes.

In a distribution or disbursement of aid funds for the Smart Indonesia Program, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate the implementationSmart Indonesia Program or disbursement of financial aidSmart Indonesia Program in JHS 2 Plered, so that you can find out what are the deficiencies and obstacles in implementing the program. that have been determined so that they can be corrected so that they can provide better service and supervision for students and parents of receiving studentsSmart Indonesia Program. The research method that we use is a qualitative research method with a type of research that is a case study. Researchers use the theory according to Duncan, namely (i) achieving goals, (ii) integration, and (iii) adaptation. Implementation research resultsSmart Indonesia Program at the JHS 2 Education Level, Plered has been running but not optimal, because it is still not certain who will receive it Smart Indonesia Program right on target because it takes time for monitoring or surveys to come to their homes, as well as the lack of supervision from the Dinas Pendidikan Purwakarta Office regarding the use or disbursement of financial aid Smart Indonesia Program.

Abstract

Teaching Practice Experience Program is one of the mandatory courses for all students of the faculty of education. This activity aims to provide real experience for students as prospective teachers. This study described prospective teachers' difficulties in practical teaching during their field practice experience program in Langsa, Aceh, Indonesia. This study applied a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study type of research. The participants were selected purposively. They were the seventh-semester students of the English Department who had conducted field practice experience consisting of 6 students. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The result revealed that among the barriers they encountered during their field practice experience were difficulties in facilitating a vibrant classroom atmosphere, teaching by using English, selecting and implementing appropriate methods or techniques, especially in teaching writing skills and challenges to execute lesson plans. Henceforth, this research contributes to enrich the literatures of field teaching practice and the barriers found, so it can be a valuable reference in the next research to provide the solution of the problems.
