Abstract

This research investigates the relation between Moodle based self-regulated learning and Metacognitive skills of grade 11 students in XYZ High School Tangerang, within the context of online asynchronous Applied Mathematics course. The research sample contained 105 students enrolled in this course. Researchers employed quantitative methods, collected data through survey questionnaires and analyzed it using correlation and linear regression methodologies. The results revealed a strong correlation (Pearson Correlation value = .619) between Moodle-based self-regulated learning and grade 11 students’ metacognitive skills in online asynchronous Applied Mathematics course in XYZ High School. The linear regression analysis indicated that Moodle-based self-regulated learning has a significant contribution towards students’ metacognitive skills as represented by the linear equation Y = 46.647 + 0.414X. This research makes an important contribution by how Moodle-based self-regulated learning can enhance students’ metacognitive skills in the context of online asynchronous Applied Mathematics course.

Abstract

The importance of teachers' performance in education is emphasized, outlining their roles in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning activities. Factors influencing teacher performance, such as interpersonal communication, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, are the focus of this research. This study is deemed significant due to the adverse effects of declining teacher performance on the quality of education, learning motivation, and academic achievement. This study used quantitative methods, including surveys and simple linear regression, to analyze the impact of independent variables on a dependent variable. The research involved 43 teachers from Christian elementary schools in Bekasi. Data was collected using a Likert scale with validated instruments, followed by tests for normality and linearity. Hypothesis testing utilized the t-test, and SPSS 26 for calculations. In efforts to enhance teacher performance, strengthening interpersonal communication, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment are crucial. Schools should prioritize these aspects to maintain a positive reputation in the community by having professional teachers. Teachers with good performance instill trust in parents to enroll their children in the school. Effective teacher performance results in student achievements and boosts community confidence in the school. The suggestion for schools is to prioritize these variables to create a positive impact on students, parents, and the community, thereby establishing schools with professional teachers.

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the influence of the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on student learning outcomes in the subject of Civic Education. By applying the true experiment method that uses Posttest Only Control as the research design, the research was conducted in high school and involved forty-three students. The test questions play a role as an instrument that measures student learning outcomes, where the test questions are valid, have a low level of reliability, and focus on understanding the material of Civic Education. The results showed that the use of the PBL Model had a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Civic Education, as evidenced by the T test to see the mean of the experimental class (16.09) and the control class (14.54). In addition, this study stated that gender factors did not have a significant effect on student learning outcomes in the subject of Civic Education, in line with the results of the Pearson correlation test of 0.16. The main contribution of this research is to bridge the knowledge gap related to the impact of PBL on learning outcomes, especially in the context of Civic Education subjects and to contribute by focusing on subjects that have curriculum specificity, regarding aspects of Civic Education. With these contributions and objectives, it is hoped that this research will provide valuable insights for education practitioners, teachers, and policy makers in improving the effectiveness of PKn learning in the modern era.

Abstract

Based on several recent studies, children's language development is closely related to parents' parenting patterns. Home and parents are the first ecological aspects for children's development. This research aims to prove these scientific (theoretical) claims. The method used was quantitative with a correlational research design, the number of respondents was 35 parents of K1 level at early childhood education West Jakarta Christian schools. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation, validity using Product Moment and reliability using the Cronbach Alpha test for the Parenting Pattern variable and Cohen's Kappa for the language development variable. The research results showed that 35 parents of students used an authoritative parenting style, the calculated Rs calculation result was 0.2404 while the z table value at a significance of 0.05 was 1.96. Because the Z table is greater than the calculated Rs, it is concluded that there is no significant correlation between variable X (parental parenting) and variable Y (child's language development).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low creative thinking skill, curiosity and self-confidence of K1 students.  The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of Inquiry Based Learning model to improve creative thinking, curiosity and self-confidence in K1 students. The type of research used is classroom action research which consists of three learning cycles with the stages of orientation, conceptualization, investigation, conclusion and discussion. The subjects of this study were fourteen students in one class. The instrument used was an assessment rubric to measure creative thinking skills, curiosity and self-confidence. The result showed that there was an increase in the average value of creative thinking in the first cycle is 57,9, in the second cycle is 66,6 and in the third cycle to 78,5. The increase in the average value of curiosity in the first cycle was 47,6 , in the second cycle is 61,8 and in the third cycle to 81,4. The increase in the average of self-confidence in the first cycle is 49,2, in the second cycle is 61,9 and in the third cycle to 82,5. It can be concluded that the Inquiry Based Learning model can improve creative thinking skill, curiosity and self-confidence in thematic learning of K1 students in Early Age Level.
