Abstract

This thesis discusses the relationship between the ability of memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim and the easeness of Arabic learning for female students at STIBA Makassar. The main objectives of this research were threefolds: 1. To understand the female students’ ability in memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim at STIBA Makassar, 2. To understand the processes of the Arabic learning and the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization activities of female students at STIBA Makassar, 3. To investigate the relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization ability and the easiness of Arabic learning for female students at STIBA Makassar. The researcher completed this study by using a qualitative descriptive method with a semi-quantitative approach. The data collection methods used in this research were personal interviews and accurate observations on the students’ learning process. The data of students’ academic assessments who were successful in one semester were collected and analysed. The quantitative data were also collected in this research from the answers of students through compatibility approach. From this research, it was apparent that the methods used by the teachers and students in memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim was considered to be very good. In terms of the relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization and Arabic learning, 100% of teachers and 97.9% of female students at STIBA Makassar were in agreement that there is a strong and close relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization and Arabic learning. In this case, the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization could assist students to understand the Arabic language and context and to pronounce the Arabic words and letters contained in the verses of the Al-Qur'an al-kariim. Besides, the non-Arabic Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorizers are able to learn Arabic easily because by memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim, a memorizer applies and practices various aspects that could better their Arabic such as the four language skills, the Arabic elements, and the contexts of religious lessons and understandings.

Abstract

Pernikahan adalah aksi sosial yang bernuansa biologis tetap menjadi perhatian, bahkan merupakan salah satu Sunnah Rasulullah Saw. Hal ini dijelaskan dalam banyaknya ayat Al-Qur'an dan Hadis atau riwayat dari Nabi Muhammad SAW yang menjelaskan tentang pernikahan. Rasulullah memberikan bimbingan dan contoh nyata tentang masalah masalah pernikahan, yang tentu saja sebagai contoh tata cara dan aturan yang harus diikuti oleh seluruh umat Islam. Tetapi beberapa masalah yang kemudian muncul, ketika dihadapkan dengan kasus pernikahan beda agama, dan hal ini telah menuai perdebatan panjang sejak awal penafsiran al-Quran oleh generasi pertama umat Islam. Bahkan terus berlanjut hingga sekarang dizaman modern. Pada periode awal penafsiran Al-qur’an, perdebatan muncul di kalangan ulama tentang kelayakan Muslim untuk menikahi wanita ahli al-kitab . Dengan in, mayoritas para sahabat termasuk Umar bin Khatthab ra, Utsman bin ‘Affan ra, Ali bin Abi Thalib ra, dan juga Ibn ‘Abbas memungkinkan pernikahan (antara laki-laki Muslim dan perempuan ahli al-kitab) meskipun ada beberapa persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi. Namun menurut ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar pernikahan tidak boleh terjadi pernikahan beda agama, karena pelanggaran yang dilakukan oleh ahli al-kitab telah mencapai tahap syirik, menyekutukan Allah. Namun demikian, generasi berikutnya (Tabi’in), lebih condong untuk mengambil pendapat pertama (pendapat mayoritas), karena dianggap lebih cocok dengan praktek zhahir al-nash. Dengan demikian, secara konseptual, pernikahan beda agama antara laki-laki Muslim dengan wanita ahli al-kitab bisa dilakukan. Tetapi dalam prakteknya, pelaksanaannya tetap harus memperhatikan beberapa aspek-aspek penting, yang berhubungan dengan tujuan pernikahan, baik yuridis-normatif dan pandangan masyarakat. Di antara beberapa hal yang mendesak untuk menjadi perhatian adalah perihal masa depan agama anak-anak mereka, serta tanggung (pria Muslim) sebagai kepala keluarga, di akhirat. Dan jika pihak-pihak yang potensial melakukan pernikahan beda agama ini benar-benar mempertimbangkan beberapa hal, mereka pasti tidak akan mudah untuk melakukan pernikahan beda agama.

Abstract

Sebenarnya, “etos kerja” dalam perspektif Islam adalah seperangkat “nilai-nilai etis” yang terkandung dalam ajaran Islam – al-Qur‟an dan al-Sunnah – tentang keharusan dan keutamaan bekerja, yang digali dan dikembangkan secara sungguh-sungguh oleh umat Islam dari masa ke masa, dan itu sangat mempengaruhi tindakan dan kerja-kerjanya di berbagai bidang kehidupan dalam mencapai hasil yang diharapkan lebih baik dan produktif.  Ajaran Islam sejelas-jelasnya memberikan inspirasi dan motivasi kepada umat Islam termasuk para muballigh di era digital dewasa ini untuk dapat mendorong jama’ah (audiens) agar memiliki karakter (etos kerja) agar dapat bekerja dengan sebaik-baiknya untuk mencapai hasil yang terbaik. Hal ini tentunya, tidak mengabaikan landasan etis atau prinsip-prinsip dasar dan umum yang ada di dalam ajaran Islam. Yang perlu diingat, etos kerja Islami dapat terhambat oleh sistem pemerintahan yang feodal, otoriter dan represif terhadap rakyat. Oleh karena itu, etos kepemimpinan di dunia Islam khususnya, harus dibenahi dengan pemahaman yang utuh terhadap etos kerja dalam ajaran Islam. Dalam implementasinya, umat Islam merumuskan tema tertentu dalam mengembangkan etos kerjanya; ada yang menampilkan etos “khaira ummah” sebagai dasar pijaknya, ada pula etos “keadilan”, etos “musyawarah”, etos “ulul al-bab”, etos “imamah”, etos “tauhid yang membebaskan”, etos “iptek”, etos “persamaan gender”, etos “HAM”, etos “pluralisme”, dan sebagainya. Semua tema tersebut pada dasarnya digali dari al-Qur’an maupuh hadis Rasulullah saw. Munculnya keragaman tema karena latar belakang umat Islam yang beragam dengan segala kepentingan yang juga berbeda, memberikan peluang bagi para muballigh dengan metode dakwahnya sehingga skala prioritas yang mungkin ingin ditujunya melalui tema-tema tertentu yang dianggapnya penting untuk dikembangkan dalam konteks dakwah di zaman ini. Tujuannya tetap sama, “hasanah” di dunia, dan “hasanah” kelak di akhirat, sehingga tantangan dapat terelakkan. Dan ini tidak berarti mengabaikan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an lainnya yang tidak dirumuskan dalam bentuk tema tertentu dimaksud.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the maslahah principle in the maqashid sharia concept, which is used as a basis for making laws for justice and prosperity, and how this principle is applied in Islamic economics and business. This research uses a qualitative approach with data analysis techniques such as field notes to conclude. This research tool measures events and collects data based on information from the parties involved (sellers and buyers). The data collected is based on observations of consumers and sellers' followers. The research results show that in online buying and selling transaction activities, it is essential to pay attention to the principles of justice in order to avoid things that can harm other parties and can be held accountable. In this case, the mu'amalah relationship that is the main thing in transactions in online buying and selling is the contract and "an taroodhin". According to Imam al-Juwainy, the implementation of maqashid sharia in online buying and selling transactions in the marketplace has been fulfilled. However, several other minor aspects still need to be fulfilled, such as protecting assets, both for the seller and the buyer.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث إلى الإجابة عن المشكلة الرئيسة وهي كيف كان التفسير السيميائي في تفسير الرازي لسورة الشرح. وتشكلت المشكلة الرئيسة في ثلاثة، وهي: حقيقة التفسير السيميائي في تفسير الرازي، صورته في سورة الشرح وثمراته في سورة الشرح. والبحث مكتبي بمقاربة علم التفسير التحليلي والمقارن، وسيميائية دي سوسور وبيرس. والبيانات مقروءة الجمع. والتحليلات ستة، وهي: المعنى الوضعي، والمجازي، والمناسبة، واستقلالية اللغة، والتأويل، والمسلمة البنيوية. ونتائجه ثلاثة، وهي: إن حقيقة التفسير السيميائي في تفسير الرازي هي استنباط المعاني الكثيرة من الألفاظ القليلة. وأما صورته في سورة الشرح فهي: قولان، ومسائل، ووجوه. وهي في لفظين: شرح الصدر، ووزرك. وأما ثمراته، فهي: إصلاح معرفة من أنكر شرح الصدر النبوي المادي، وإصلاح معرفة من رجح شرح الصدر النبوي المادي على شرحه الروحي، وإصلاح معرفة من أثبت معصية في حق النبي محمد ﷺ. Abtsract This research aims to address the main question about the way semiotic interpretation is applied in Al-Razi's exegesis of Surah Al-Sharh. The primary problem is divided into three sub-questions; the nature of semiotic interpretation in Al-Razi's exegesis, its manifestation in Surah Al-Sharh, and its outcomes in Surah Al-Sharh. This article is a library-based research employing analytical and comparative exegesis methods, along with the semiotics theories of Saussure and Peirce. Data collection involved extensive reading. The analysis encompasses six aspects: denotative meaning, figurative meaning, relevance, language autonomy, interpretation, and structural postulate. The results are threefold: the essence of semiotic interpretation in Al-Razi's exegesis is the extraction of multiple meanings from a few words. In Surah Al-Sharh, it manifests in two expressions: "expanding the breast" and "the burden." The outcomes are: correcting the understanding of those who deny the physical expansion of the Prophet's breast, correcting the understanding of those who favor the physical expansion over the spiritual, and correcting the understanding of those who attribute sin to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Abstract

This study examines the concept of tawakkul (trust in Allah) from the perspective of Islamic theology, specifically through the views of Qadariyah and Jabariyah, as well as its application in modern society. Tawakkul is defined as a balance between maximal effort (ikhtiar) and full reliance on Allah SWT. Using a multidisciplinary approach, this research includes an analysis of Qur'anic verses such as QS Ali Imran: 159 and QS At-Talaq: 3, along with a survey on the understanding of tawakkul among modern individuals aged 17–45. The aim is to explore the understanding of tawakkul in various aspects of life, including the workplace, stress management, and social relationships. The survey results reveal that 84.2% of respondents perceive tawakkul as a combination of effort and reliance, while 52.6% believe that tawakkul can help manage stress and enhance solidarity. The study finds that while Qadariyah emphasizes human free will and Jabariyah prioritizes divine predestination, both share the same ultimate goal of glorifying Allah. Furthermore, the research suggests that a moderate approach between these two theological perspectives is more relevant in addressing modern challenges such as social anxiety and workplace dynamics. By proposing an adaptive concept of tawakkul, this study contributes to improving the mental and spiritual well-being of Muslims in contemporary times.

Abstract

Riba dibahas dalam Al-Quran pada Surah Al-Baqarah ayat 278-279; Surah Ali Imrân ayat 130; Surah ar-Rum ayat 39; dan Surah An-Nisâ ayat 160-161, yang menegaskan keharamannya dalam fiqih Islam. Meski begitu, terdapat perbedaan pandangan ulama serta perspektif riba dalam ekonomi makro. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hukum riba pada bunga bank dari perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Ekonomi Makro. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode library research yang menganalisis data dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui tafsir Al-Qur’an. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa riba sudah ada sebelum Islam dan dikategorikan menjadi empat jenis: riba fadhli, riba nasi’ah, riba yad, dan riba qardhli, yang semuanya dianggap haram dalam Al-Qur’an dan fiqih karena efek buruknya secara ekonomi dan hukum. Penelitian ini memberikan perspektif berbeda dalam pro dan kontra hukum riba, serta alasan pengharamannya menurut Al-Qur’an dan Ekonomi Makro.

Abstract

This study focuses on two key areas: the interpretation of Qur’anic verses regarding women’s leadership and its implementation within Sufi orders (tariqa) in South Sulawesi. The central question explored is how Sufi orders interpret these verses through a gender lens. To answer this question, a qualitative methodology employing interpretive and gender studies approaches was used. Data were collected through interview and literature review. The results of the research show that the perceptions of tarekat followers in South Sulawesi regarding the interpretation of verses regarding women's leadership in the public sphere. Some interpretations, based on Surah At-Tawbah [9:71], allow for women’s leadership by defining “awliya” as leaders, allies, and advisors, suggesting that both men and women can assume leadership roles if they possess the necessary competencies. Conversely, others, citing Surah An-Nisa’ [4:34], restrict women’s leadership. However, a closer examination indicates that Surah At-Tawbah [9:71] is a more general verse, while Surah An-Nisa’ [4:34] is context-specific, referring primarily to domestic matters. The implementation of leadership within Sufi orders is generally not at odds with these interpretations. In the public sphere, women have equal rights to men, including the right to vote and be elected. Moreover, there is no gender distinction in the concept of becoming a waliyullah, as exemplified by Rabi’ah al-Adawiyah. However, women have not yet assumed the role of murshid (spiritual guide) within Sufi orders due to several factors, including the historical precedent of male prophets and the physical and spiritual demands of the role. However, from a gender perspective,  women often hold the position of khalifah (spiritual deputy) assisting the murshid in teaching and even coordinating regional activities.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to explore the verses related to poverty alleviation and Islamic Socio-Economic principles contained in the Quran. The research method used is library research with a thematic approach that explores the term Al Fuqara in the Qur'an. By using the book Mu'jam Mufahras li Alfaz al-Qur'an, the term al-fuqara is mentioned 7 times and there are 3 verses of the Qur'an related to Islamic Socio-Economic Principles in the Qur'an (Analysis of the Strategic Foundation for Poverty Alleviation in the Middle of the Times) while the other 4 verses are related to worship. Islamic socio-economic principles that are reflected in the verses of the Quran are very relevant in poverty alleviation efforts as found in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:271), Surah Al-Baqarah (2:273) and Surah At-Taubah (9:60).AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengan pengentasan kemiskinan dan prinsip-prinsip Sosio-Ekonomi Islam yang terdapat dalam al-Quran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan tematik yaitu menggali term al Fuqara dalam al-Qur’an dengan menggunakan kitab Mu’jam Mufahras li Alfaz al-Qur’an, term al-Fuqara disebutkan sebanyak 7 kali dan terdapat  3 ayat al-Qur'an yang terkait dengan Prinsip Sosio-Ekonomi Islam dalam al-Quran (Analisis Terhadap Landasan Strategis Pengentasan Kemiskinan di Tengah Perkembangan Zaman) sedangkan 4 ayat lainnya berkaitan dengan ibadah. Prinsip-prinsip sosio-ekonomi Islam yang tercermin dalam ayat-ayat al-Quran sangat relevan dalam upaya pengentasan kemiskinan sebagaiman yang terdapat dalam Surah al-Baqarah (2:271), Surah al-Baqarah (2:273) dan Surah at-Taubah (9:60).

Abstract

The Mappanre adek tradition is not only a traditional identity but also a religious identity practiced by the Bugis-Makassar community in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. This study aims to discuss the strengthening of social ties through the Mappanre adek tradition from the perspective of the living Qur'an and anthropology. The article is important because it explains how Islamic values ​​are acculturated with traditional ceremonies among the Bulukumba community, South Sulawesi. This study uses an empirical legal method analyzed with the theory of Islamic legal anthropology. Data refers to the results of interviews and literature studies. Interviews were conducted to validate data on key informants, while literature refers to journal articles, books and research fields related to the focus of the discussion. The article concludes that it shows that traditional ceremonies, in addition to functioning as a glue for society, also contribute to the sustainability of social order through the integration of the community involved in the ceremony. This traditional ceremony exemplifies an attitude of mutual respect and sharing happiness. In addition, this traditional ceremony also structures social classes that almost never change. In the context of living Qur’an and anthropology, the tradition of mappaenre adek is an implementation of the values ​​of the Quran, such as ukhuwah Islamiyah, litaarafu, mutual respect practiced by the community. Tradition as custom contains beneficial values, namely maintaining social ties and social cohesion in society. So that the values ​​of the Quran and local culture are able to create a harmonious acculturation and accommodation
