Abstract

This study discusses the process of rainfall from the perspective of Tafsir Ilmi by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI) and its scientific implications. Introduction highlights the crucial role of rain in maintaining ecosystem balance and supporting life on Earth, serving as a primary source of clean water for various human activities, from dally consumption to agriculture. Without rain, life on this planet would be threatened, as water is essential for all living beings. Rain not only provides the necessary moisture for plant growth but also contributes to the replenishment of groundwater and surface water resources while regulating climate and temperature. Method involves a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature review, collecting data from primary sources such as Tafsir Ilmi Kemenag RI and secondary sources like books and scientific articles discussing the water cycle and relevant Quranic verses. Results and Discussion reveal that the process of rainfall involves three main stages: evaporation, condensation, and precipitation, which can be explained both scientifically and through Quranic teachings. Verses such as QS. An-Nur (24:43) and QS. Ar-Rum (30:48) illustrate how Allah directs clouds and utilizes wind to create rain, emphasizing the harmony between natural laws and divine will. Conclusion asserts that Tafsir Ilmi Kemenag RI plays a vital role in bridging the understanding between science and religion, allowing society to appreciate rain not just as a physical phenomenon but also as a manifestation of God's mercy that should be valued and

Abstract

Arts and culture journalism in Indonesia faces major challenges in the era of digital transformation, which is characterized by the lack of regeneration of journalists, the dominance of digital algorithms, and economic pressures that shift the focus of news from the substance of art to entertainment. This research aims to analyze the main challenges in the regeneration of arts and culture journalists, understand the impact of media transformation on art reporting, and offer strategic solutions for the revitalization of arts and culture journalism. Using a case study-based descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through in-depth interviews with senior cultural arts journalists and founders of digital art news platforms, as well as document analysis and literature reviews. The results show that the main challenges include a lack of economic incentives, the dominance of social media algorithms that prioritize popularity over depth of analysis, and low institutional support for the cultural arts rubric. However, revitalization opportunities can be realized through digital technology-based approaches, creative strategies such as the integration of pop culture and lifestyle, and collaborations between the media, art communities, and educational institutions. This study emphasizes the importance of applying encoding/decoding (Hall) and gatekeeping (McQuail) theories in understanding the paradigm shift in cultural arts journalism in the digital era, as well as offering a strategic framework to create a relevant, inclusive, and sustainable art journalism ecosystem.

Abstract

The high degree of dependence on imported medical devices in Indonesia poses challenges to national resilience in the healthcare sector. Fiscal policies, including taxation regulations, fiscal incentives, and import substitution strategies, play a significant role in enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic medical device industry. This study employs a normative method with a legislative approach to analyse the impact of taxation regulations on the competitiveness of the medical device industry. The findings indicate that 1) import duties regulated under PMK No. 26/PMK.010/2022 provide protection for local products but require synergy with fiscal incentives, as outlined in PP No. 45 Tahun 2019; 2) import substitution policies have successfully increased local production but are still constrained by dependence on imported raw materials; 3) tax regulations, such as Article 22 of Law No. 36/2008 and the imposition of a 10% VAT, contribute to protecting the domestic market, but the tax burden on end consumers remains a challenge; and 4) a more integrated and sustainable fiscal policy framework is needed to foster innovation, efficiency, and acceleration of the independence of the medical device industry in Indonesia. This study highlights the importance of strengthening fiscal regulations to support the resilience of the national healthcare sector.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how teachers deliver corrective feedback on students' English writing in class XI 1 of SMAN 3 Selayar and identify the type of feedback most preferred by students. The findings revealed that English teachers applied three out of six corrective feedback strategies proposed by Rod Ellis, namely Direct Corrective Feedback, Indirect Corrective Feedback, and Metalinguistic Corrective Feedback. Furthermore, data from observation sheets and interviews with several students indicate that Direct Corrective Feedback is the most frequently received and appreciated type of feedback. This is because it enables students to analyze and correct their mistakes effectively while enhancing their understanding of English writing. Additionally, the study suggests that future research employs a longitudinal approach to assess the long-term impact of corrective feedback on students' English writing skills.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of English songs in enhancing students' descriptive writing skills in a senior high school in Takalar, involving 36 tenth-grade students. A pre-experimental design was utilized, incorporating pre-tests and post-tests to assess writing performance before and after the intervention. Results showed a significant improvement, with average post-test scores increasing from 63.8 to 82.6. Paired t-test analysis confirmed this enhancement, revealing a mean difference of 18 points and a t-value of 6.066 (p < 0.05). The N-Gain score of 0.46 indicates moderate overall improvement. These findings suggest that English songs serve as effective authentic materials, engaging students and improving their content organization, vocabulary usage, and grammatical accuracy, particularly in the simple present tense. This research underscores the value of using English songs as a teaching tool to enhance descriptive writing skills, offering valuable insights for educators.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implications of the construction of the sea fence on maritime security, the environment, and the welfare of coastal communities. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing secondary data from legal documents, official reports, scientific articles, and reliable news. The results of the study show that this sea fence violates various national regulations, such as the Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries No. 28 of 2021 concerning KKPRL, Law No. 27 of 2007 concerning the Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands, and Law No. 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection. The ecological impacts are also significant, including the destruction of mangroves and marine biota habitats that threaten the sustainability of coastal ecosystems. There are indications of a conflict of interest related to this project, which allegedly involves a large property developer for reclamation without transparency and participation of local communities. Weak coordination between government agencies such as the KKP, TNI AL, and Bakamla RI has also exacerbated this situation. The construction of illegal sea fences not only harms coastal communities economically and socially, but also violates the law and threatens the sustainability of marine ecosystems. Concrete measures such as the dismantling of illegal sea fences, rehabilitation of coastal ecosystems, increased coordination between agencies, and the implementation of sustainability-based policies are needed to prevent similar cases in the future.

Abstract

This study analyzes the economic, social, and cultural dynamics of nutmeg farmers in Lonthoir Village, Banda Island, in the period 1950 to 2000. Using a qualitative approach, this study explores the impact of agrarian policies, fluctuations in international market prices, and modernization on farmers' lives. The findings show that the post-independence land redistribution policy experienced challenges in its implementation, while agricultural modernization during the New Order period benefited the local elite more than smallholder farmers. Farmers adopt diversification strategies and utilize customary systems to survive amid price fluctuations and social changes. The globalization of the spice market has also affected the stability of farmers' incomes, underscoring the importance of government support in protecting local market access. This research provides important insights into the history of agrarian and economic transformation in Indonesia as well as its relevance to rural development policies.
