Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic mergers proposed by the BUMN Ministry, focusing on the mergers of PT Hutama Karya with PT Waskita Karya, PT Adhi Karya with PT Nindya Karya, and PT Wijaya Karya with PT Pembangunan Perumahan. Using a descriptive research approach, the study employs quantitative analysis to evaluate financial compatibility and operational synergies among the companies involved. The findings reveal that the merger of Adhi Karya and Nindya Karya emerges as the most advantageous option, effectively combining Adhi's liquidity challenges with Nindya's strong revenue generation capabilities. Additionally, merging PT Waskita Karya with PT Hutama Karya could provide vital resources to address Waskita's financial struggles, contingent on Hutama Karya’s capacity to manage these challenges effectively. The merger of PT Wijaya Karya with Pembangunan Perumahan shows promise in leveraging Pembangunan's stability to enhance Wijaya's financial performance. In conclusion, the proposed mergers present a strategic opportunity to enhance financial stability, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness. Merging PT Pembangunan Perumahan with PT Nindya Karya capitalizes on both companies' financial strengths, while the pairing of PT Waskita Karya and PT Adhi Karya facilitates resource pooling to improve operational performance. Lastly, the merger of PT Wijaya Karya with a smaller, agile company can help mitigate its liquidity issues while harnessing the strengths of a dynamic partner. Recommendations emphasize the importance of conducting thorough due diligence to assess financial compatibility, cultural alignment, and operational synergies before finalizing mergers. Establishing clear strategic goals and integration plans is essential for ensuring successful transitions. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation post-merger will be crucial for adapting strategies and driving sustained growth and profitability in the newly formed entities.with stakeholders will be key to rebuilding trust and securing the company’s future.

Abstract

The work environment encompasses various elements around employees that can affect their job performance. This includes physical factors such as room layout, lighting, and temperature, as well as non-physical elements like social interactions, work atmosphere, and company policies. If these elements are neglected, it can lead to disruptions in employee performance. Conversely, a supportive work environment can enhance motivation and enthusiasm, leading to increased efficiency and productivity. A pleasant work environment can create a calm atmosphere while working, while adequate facilities play a crucial role in improving performance. This study aims to thoroughly evaluate how various factors, such as the work environment conditions, conflicts, workload, and compensation, affect employee performance at Puskesmas Wuluhan. To achieve this objective, a causality method was applied involving 76 respondents selected through a saturation sampling technique, ensuring that all relevant members of the population were included in the sample. The results of multiple linear regression analysis reveal that both the work environment and compensation have a significant impact on employee performance, indicating that improvements in these aspects can substantially enhance performance. Conversely, the study found that conflicts and workload do not have a significant effect on employee performance at Puskesmas Wuluhan, suggesting that these factors may have less influence on performance compared to the work environment and compensation.

Abstract

This study investigates the financial distress of PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned electricity provider, from 2019 to 2023 using the Springate S-Score method. Despite implementing digital business transformation and human resource development initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality, PLN faces ongoing financial challenges. These challenges stem from high debt levels incurred due to the company's ambitious 35,000 MW power expansion project, as well as persistent cash flow difficulties. The study analyzes key financial indicators such as the debt-to-equity ratio, cash flow issues, and operational inefficiencies, tracking the company's fluctuating financial health. The Springate S-Score results indicate significant financial distress in 2021, reflecting the peak of PLN's financial pressures. However, improvements are observed in 2022 and 2023, signaling a gradual recovery as a result of cost-cutting measures and strategic adjustments. Based on the findings, the study recommends that PLN focus on reducing capital expenditures, renegotiating debt terms, and enhancing financial management practices. These measures are designed to stabilize the company’s financial position and improve its long-term sustainability, particularly as the energy sector continues to evolve with increasing demands for efficiency and renewable energy solutions. This study further emphasizes the impact of PLN’s operational inefficiencies, which have compounded its financial difficulties. The company's reliance on external financing has increased its vulnerability to debt servicing pressures. Additionally, the fluctuating energy prices and challenges in maintaining consistent revenue streams have added to its financial strain. By addressing these core issues, PLN can improve its resilience and adapt to the evolving energy landscape, ensuring both financial stability and operational sustainability in the long term. The recommendations provided aim to balance the need for infrastructure development with financial prudence, positioning PLN for a more secure future. Keywords: Business Transformation ,Financial Distress, Bankruptcy

Abstract

This study aims to examine the financial challenges faced by PT Garuda Indonesia (Tbk) between 2021 and 2023, focusing on its efforts in debt restructuring and business transformation, as well as the impact of these initiatives on its financial recovery. Using a descriptive research approach, the study analyzes quantitative data, including the Springate S-Score model, which assesses bankruptcy risk by evaluating key financial ratios. The findings show that Garuda experienced severe financial distress in 2021, reflected in a significantly low Springate S-Score, indicating a high likelihood of bankruptcy. Although there was a brief recovery in 2022, the score dropped again in 2023, signaling continued financial risks primarily due to high debt levels and operational inefficiencies. The research identifies that the airline's issues stemmed from excessive leasing costs, poor financial oversight, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on air travel. While debt restructuring and business transformation efforts, including streamlining operations and expanding revenue sources, showed positive outcomes, the Springate S-Score still highlights the company's vulnerability. The Springate S-Score and relevant financial ratios for PT Garuda Indonesia from 2019 to 2024, with all years classified under "Financial Distress." The ratios (A, B, C, and D) represent key financial metrics, and the S-Score (Z) is used to evaluate the company's bankruptcy risk. To improve its financial standing and Springate S-Score, recommendations include intensifying debt restructuring efforts by negotiating better terms with creditors, exploring alternative financing options like equity issuance or bond offerings, and leveraging government support to enhance liquidity. Additionally, accelerating digital transformation, improving operational efficiencies, and fostering customer loyalty through tailored services are critical for long-term sustainability. Regular performance reviews and transparent communication with stakeholders will be key to rebuilding trust and securing the company’s future.

Abstract

In order for the government to make the best policy decisions going forward, it is critical to forecast the value of oil and gas imports. This study aims to anticipate Indonesia's oil and gas import value by taking into account the independent variables of inflation, rupiah exchange rates, and global crude oil prices. The ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average), ARIMAX (ARIMA With Exogenous Variable), and Hybrid ARIMAX-LSTM (ARIMA With Exogenous Variable Long-Short-Term Memory) are the methods that are compared. Mean Absolute Percentage Error, or MAPE, is a tool used to compare forecasting models. The outcomes demonstrated how well ARIMAX-LSTM (0, 1, 2) predicts and forecasts the value of oil and gas imports when combined with variables for inflation and crude oil prices. According to the forecasting results, the value of imports of gas and oil increased by 3.03% between January and September of 2024 when compared to the entire import value of the year prior (Y-o-Y). Other exogenous variable addition, additional research on hyperparameter tuning, and the use of cross-validation techniques to increase prediction accuracy and provide more precise measurements of model performance are other recommendations for future investigation.
