Abstract

Facilities and price are among the key factors that influence public interest in a tourist destination. This study aims to analyze the influence of facilities and price on tourists' visiting interest at Binar Alam View, a tourism destination in Garut Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 visitors at the site. The results showed that facilities had a positive and significant influence on visiting interest, while price did not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced visiting interest with a coefficient of determination of 45.2%. These findings indicate that the quality of facilities is the primary factor affecting tourists' intention to visit, while price tends to be a secondary consideration as long as it is perceived as fair.

Abstract

Indonesia's tourism sector has shown significant recovery post-pandemic. This is indicated by the increase in domestic travel and high tourist spending on accommodation. Siteminder survey shows that 55% of Indonesian tourists book accommodation through online travel agents (OTAs), making it crucial to understand the factors influencing online hotel purchase intentions. One relevant theory in this context is the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), which assesses consumer behavior based on attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Although numerous studies have discussed factors in hotel selection, studies applying the TPB to the context of OTAs are still limited. This study aims to analyze these three factors on hotel purchase intentions through OTAs in Jabodetabek area. The study used a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 384 online travel agent users aged 18-44, which were then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that attitude toward hotels, attitude toward OTAs, and perceived behavioral control had a partial influence on purchase intentions, while subjective norms had no influence. Furthermore, all four variables had a simultaneous influence on purchase intentions. For further research, it is recommended to expand the scope of respondents, add other variables, and use combined methods in data collection

Abstract

Employee job satisfaction can be conceptualized as a cognitive–affective equilibrium emerging from an individual’s interpretative appraisal of multifaceted occupational dimensions. This construct does not occur in isolation but is contingent upon a constellation of antecedent variables, notably work-life balance and occupational burnout. The principal objective of this inquiry is to empirically elucidate the directional influence exerted by work-life balance and burnout upon the experiential state of job satisfaction among personnel affiliated with The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali. The investigational cohort comprises the entirety of organizational incumbents within the aforementioned hospitality establishment, from which a representative subsample of 218 respondents was derived through a probabilistic selection framework employing proportional stratified randomization. Data interrogation was operationalized via multivariate linear regression modeling to capture simultaneous and discrete effect trajectories. Analytical outcomes substantiate that work-life balance exerts a statistically robust positive association with employee job satisfaction, whereas burnout manifests an inversely proportional and statistically significant relationship with the same construct. Moreover, when entered conjointly into the predictive model, these dual determinants exhibit a significant aggregate effect, cumulatively accounting for approximately 54.5% of the variance observed in employee job satisfaction.

Abstract

This thesis project aims to determine the most suitable model for spa development within a hospitality context. It also discusses the implementation process required to establish the spa effectively according to the chosen model. Furthermore, the thesis project analyses whether the direct establishment and management of the spa by Sadara Resort can contribute to increasing the hotel's overall revenue, thereby supporting its long-term financial sustainability and service quality improvement. This thesis project adopts the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) framework. It uses qualitative data, including primary data from interviews with Sadara Resort’s management and secondary data from guest reviews on facilities and services. The data analysis technique is qualitative analysis, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The establishment of a spa at Sadara Resort aligns with the implementation of the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) model. Through careful planning and independent management, the spa business has effectively increased revenue and made a significant contribution to the hotel’s overall income. This demonstrates the financial advantages of integrating wellness services into the resort’s core operations. Independently managing a business, rather than outsourcing it to third parties, can lead to higher revenue generation by retaining full control over operations and profits. This approach requires the ability to identify current market trends, opportunities, and customer needs. Understanding these elements is essential for detecting business gaps. Once identified, a comprehensive analysis must assess their financial and operational impact. If results are favorable, business enhancement or development plans should be prepared accordingly.

Abstract

Homestay is an accommodation business that offers rooms provided by local residents for guests in a certain period of time. By offering a different lodging atmosphere, there are nine criteria recommended by the ASEAN organization as a standardization of the homestay concept. The development of homestay businesses is intensively carried out by the Banyuwangi Regency Government spread throughout tourist villages, but there is a perception that the homestay concept implemented does not meet standards. This study aims to explore the characteristics of homestays spread across Banyuwangi Regency Tourism Villages through the application of the ASEAN Homestay Standard criteria. Through a self-assessment method summarized in 88 statements representing the nine criteria as indicators, homestay owners filled out a questionnaire with a Guttman scale approach. Then, the data were analyzed using SPSS and Excel statistics. The results showed that the level of implementation of the nine ASEAN homestay standard criteria was 83% which was interpreted as having been implemented very well. However, in the "activity" criterion, the implementation of ASEAN homestay standards must be further improved because it has the highest importance weight. This research is expected to contribute ideas and knowledge in the development of science, especially in the field of Homestay Management

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of green practices in Casa Amaroossa Lounge Jakarta as a step to support sustainable tourism in urban areas, and analyzes the application of POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) managerial approaches to manage and improve the effectiveness of implementing green practices in hotel environments. This study uses a qualitative method with the aim of understanding the application of green practices in Casa Amaroossa Lounge Jakarta through observations, interviews, and supporting documentation. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with a POAC managerial approach to evaluate the effectiveness of planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring in the implementation of sustainable practices in the hotel environment. The results of the study show that the implementation of green practices is carried out through energy and water efficiency, the use of environmentally friendly materials, grouped waste management, the provision of food based on local and organic ingredients, and donation activities that support the welfare of the surrounding community. With POAC management, this activity is carried out systematically and in a directed manner. Green practices are very important to be applied to urban hotels, because they play a role in reducing the negative impact of operational activities on the environment, improving the positive image of hotels, and supporting sustainable tourism in urban areas that have quite high environmental pressure
