Abstract

Simpur air is one of plant that has been using as traditional medicine for treating several diseases. Some studies on its chemical constituents and biological activities of this species have been published. However, chemical constituents and antioxidant activity of this plant which is Riau origin has not been reported before. This study aims to determine the total of phenolic and flavonoid content as well as its antioxidant activity of methanol extracts of roots, leaves and flowers of simpur air. Determination of total of phenolic and flavonoid content was performed by spectrophotometric method using Folin Ciocalteu and AlCl3 as reagents, respectively. Whereas, its antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH method. The results showed that methanol extracts of its roots afforded the highest total of phenolic and flavonoid content and also its antioxidant activity. The total of phenolic content of methanol extracts of its roots of 428.131 GAE/mg extract; its total of flavonoid content of 766.164 QE/mg extract; as for its antioxidant activity gave IC50 value of 3.852 µg/ml.

Abstract

A study on isolation and antibacterial activity of secondary metabolites from the methanol extract of Marpuyan (Rhodamnia cinerea Jack.) Leaves on Escherichia coli has been carried out. Isolation was carried out by column chromatography methods. Whereas the antibacterial activity test was carried out using agar diffusion method. The results of the isolation produced 17.9 mg of RC-F13 isolate compound in the form of light yellow crystals, with a melting point of 170-172oC and soluble in methanol. The results of identification of RC- F13 isolate compounds through testing with AlCl3 reagents, positive including the flavonoid group, were strengthened by the results of the UV spectrum and FT-IR spectrum. Based on the results of the UV spectrum, it was seen that the RC- F13 isolate compound showed λ max 353.60, 257.00 and 209.20 nm. The FT-IR spectrum shows the presence of several functional groups such as OH, C aliphatic C-H, C = O carbonyl, C = C aromatic and C-O. testing the antibacterial activity of methanol extract with a concentration of 20%; 10%; 1%; 0.1% and 0.01%, fraction 13 at 1% concentration; 0.1% and 0.01% and RC- F13 isolate compound concentration of 0.1%, against Escherichia coli bacteria did not show any antibacterial activity which was marked by the absence of clear areas around the disc.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the typology of tourists visiting Pematang Johar Tourism Village and to analyze the implications of the findings for planning the development of tourism villages in the future. Survey method was used to collect data. 110 respondents were involved in this study. The data analysis was done by using Plog's psychographic typology model. The results showed that the majority of visitors to Wisata Sawah Pematang Johar belonged to the pro-allocentric group, followed by the mid-centric type and the pro-psychocentric group. The implications of the findings are discussed for the purposes of planning and developing tourism products and services in the tourist village of Wisata Sawah Pematang Johar.

Abstract

This thesis examines the supervision carried out by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) over digital campaign activities on social media during the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Tanah Datar. The study focuses on three main issues: the forms and characteristics of digital campaigns that emerged on social media platforms, the supervisory mechanisms employed by Bawaslu in responding to these dynamics, and the challenges faced by Bawaslu in exercising its oversight function amid the rapid development and openness of digital information. This research adopts a qualitative field research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, documentation analysis, and observation of local social media accounts that were active during the campaign period. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using several analytical frameworks, including surveillance theory, campaign theory, institutional theory of Bawaslu, and the perspective of fiqh siyasah tanfidziah. The findings indicate that digital campaigns in the 2024 Tanah Datar Pilkada were not limited to informational, persuasive, and mobilizational content, but also evolved into spaces of political criticism, satire, humor, and complex public interaction. This development confirms that social media has become a strategic arena for shaping public opinion, while simultaneously presenting significant challenges for electoral supervision. Bawaslu’s supervisory efforts—implemented through direct, indirect, and preventive mechanisms—reflect an institutional attempt to adapt to digital realities. However, their effectiveness remains constrained by technical limitations, the absence of detailed regulatory frameworks governing digital campaigns, and relatively low levels of public participation. This condition illustrates a gap between positive legal norms governing elections and the actual practices of digital campaigning in the field. From the perspective of fiqh siyasah tanfidziah, electoral supervision constitutes a mandate that must be carried out fairly and oriented toward the public interest (maslahah). Accordingly, this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital campaign regulations, enhancing supervisory technological capacity, and encouraging broader public involvement to ensure that digital campaign oversight is more effective, just, and aligned with both legal principles and sharia values.

Abstract

Zakat is a fiscal instrument aimed at sustainable social welfare. Accelerating the improvement of the welfare of those who mustahik is a crucial indicator of the success of zakat management. Although zakat funds collected continue to increase annually, studies show that poverty and dependency levels remain persistent issues. Theoretically, distribution through Zakat Management Organizations (OPZ) provides added value in the form of accelerating the welfare of those who mustahik through productive programs and mentoring. However, the community does not yet fully understand the importance of paying zakat through OPZ. This study used field research with a qualitative approach. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with selected muzaki (payers of zakat). The results showed that the majority of muzaki believed or had a positive perception that paying zakat through OPZ would accelerate the improvement of the welfare of those who mustahik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the failure faced by family businesses of Minang ethnic due to digital transformation. This is a qualitative research with data obtained from 20 failed family businesses in the food and convection sector in 4 provinces of Pekanbaru, Palembang, Jakarta, and Surabaya in Indonesia from 2018 to 2020 through in-depth interviews. The results showed that the failures experienced by family businesses are due to several conditions, such as inadequate management. Furthermore, its leaders are mostly direct descendants like biological children with very weak leadership abilities, hence they are unable to make changes to digitization. Despite the fact, the products have a good culture and brand, they are unable to develop the company due to their inability to carry out digital transformation. In addition, consumers or the public have very little knowledge of existing companies or products because they are unable to convey adequate information. This research contributes to highlighting cases of family business failure due to the inability to carry out digital transformation. The literature provides more information and theories regarding developed countries and little is done to family companies of an ethnicity that have strong products, culture and social capital. The limitation of this research is that it still has a few respondents and uses qualitative methods. Therefore, further research needs to be carried out using quantitative methods, a greater number of respondents, and other variables.
