Abstract

Abstract.Nowadays internet is one of the most important necessities in human life. PT Telkom Indonesia comes with indiHome product as the answer of the challenge of this globalization era. indiHome which come with a package of internet, IPTV, and fixed phone succeed to get big number of subscriber, but eventually the reputation of its quality is generates some bad reviews due to the numbers of service failure happened. This research is aimed to assess the effect of service failure happened, and also its recovery by PT Telkom toward the loyalty level of indiHome customer specifically in Bandung area. The data for this research are gathered using questionnaire, and analysed statistically with difference test method. In this research the customer of indiHome are divided into six different groups based on the experience of service failure and recovery which will affect the loyalty. The customer groups are A, customers who never experience service failure, B who have experience service failure which divided into B.1 who get the problem solved, and B.2 who get the problem unsolved. Group B.1 is divided again into B.1.1 who get the outstanding recovery, B.1.2 who get the fair recovery, and B.1.3 who get recovery which is lower than what have been expected.  The result shows that each group has different level of loyalty. The group of customer who has ever experience service failure and got the outstanding recovery shows the highest score of loyalty level, even exceeding the group of customer who never experience service failure at all. This result of research would contribute to give the recommendation to companies in service industry especially PT Telkom, to put a big concern in designing an outstanding recovery program, and for the academic and research practitioners to take this research for the future researches related.Keywords: Service Failure, Service Recovery, Customer Loyalty, indiHome

Abstract

Abstract. Procrastination is the lack or absence of self-regulated performance and the tendency to deny or completely avoid an activity under one’s control (Tuckman & Sexton, 1989). MARS, also known as model of individual behavior, are model used to understand on what drivers can form an individual behavior. It consist of four factors which are motivation, ability, role perceptions, and support/situational factors).As an organization, academic institution need to know the drivers of behavior that might affect their academic members performance, including student. By creating a Procrastination Scale to measure procrastination level and Academic Motivation Scale into MARS model this research gather a 116 sample of academic student in SBM ITB. The result shows that Amotivation (r=.187) and Motivation External of external regulation (r=.197) has positive correlation with procrastination level. Using hierarchical regression analysis, the result further show that amotivation (b=.197) act as the most dominant contributor to procrastination level. External Motivation  of external regulation (b=.126) follows as the second contributor while Situational Factors (b=-.127) shows as counter contributer of procrastination. As organization SBM ITB might want to further motivate their student and give tutoring about managing academic and non-academic activities. Abstract

Currently PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika is trying to dominate the market of motorcycle sport category especially the middle-class in Bandung. To stay competitive and increase sales and improve product quality and company performance, companies need to know the level of customer satisfaction and the effectiveness of the promotion of the company.Objectives of this research are: (1) Identify the characteristics of PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika customers, (2) Analyze PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika customer satisfaction, (3) Analyze the effectiveness of promotions done by PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika, (4) Analyze the relationship between customer satisfactions with the effectiveness of promotions on PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika. Data used in this study is primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through interviews with company management and questionnaires deployment to PT. Daya Adicipta Mustika customers. Secondary data were obtained from literatures, internets and previous studies. The selection of respondents was conducted using convenience sampling with the number of respondents of 100 respondents. Methods of analysis used in data processing are Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), EPIC Model and Pearson Correlation Analysis. Based on IPA and CSI calculation, it can be seen that level of customer satisfaction index of Honda middle-class motorsport was 74.50%, that value still under it competitor Yamaha that given 92.7% based on Roy Morgan research in Customer Satisfaction Award of the Year in Indonesia in 2012 so Honda customer satisfaction value still not enough to become market leader in Honda middle class motorsport. Based on EPIC model, it can be seen that value of EPIC Rate is 2.41, Honda still need to increase their promotion communication with customers to compete with Yamaha in this segment. Based on Pearson correlation analysis, it can be seen that coefficient correlation of the customer satisfaction level and promotion effectiveness is positive 0.476 (47.6%) were in the range between 0.41 – 0.70.Keywords:  marketing mix, service quality, customer perception, promotion, Honda----------------------------------DISCLAMER: This paper is created by undergraduate students of School of Business and Management ITB in partial fulfillment of the requirement of the degree Bachelor of Management. Abstract. Instagram has become the third most used social media, it now have an amount of 700M user on April 2017. Nowadays, there are countless fashion brands that is using Instagram as one of their platform to gain sells, gain awareness, gaining engagement, etc. There are now 500 million members of the Instagram community and Instagrammers interested in fashion (Instagram data, 2016). In Indonesia, there are many cases with local fashion brand that maintain an aesthetic feeds for their main Instagram account, so many of them come up to a solution by creating a 2nd account, many of them creates 2nd account as their digital catalogue or digital look book of their product. The problem is that there are no basic guideline on creating the 2nd account content that based on the consumer preferences when browsing to look the information they needed. By making an efficient and effective content based on the consumer needs of information to keep the user engagement similar with the brands main account. This research is expected to measure what are the content combination information that the consumer needs with the conjoint analysis. This analysis will use two method which is the qualitative analysis by interview the targeted respondent and the quantitative analysis by using the conjoint analysis method with online and offline questionnaire but will be more focused on the both result of the online and offline.Keywords: Marketing Research, Instagram, Instagram Second Account, Conjoint Analysis, Social Media.

Abstract

Abstract -  The financial sector strongly influences economic growth in a country. The role of banks here is vital as an intermediary for exchanging money in the community. In conducting its operational activities, the bank focuses its business activities as a manager of public funds as its primary business activity. Besides, to be used to generate profits for banks, interest rates also function as a tool to influence a country's economy. Indonesia adopted a dual banking system, namely a conventional bank that runs a regular system and Islamic banks that use Islamic law as a basis for its operational activities. Islamic Banks provide a profit-sharing system from profits derived from funds managed in exchange for interest. To calculate the performance of Islamic banks to generate profit, the Net Profit Margin Ratio. This study obtained data from the website of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and from official websites of each bank which included 7 Islamic banks which belonged to the category of foreign exchange Islamic banks and mixed Islamic banks which took place in 2011 the first quarter to 2017 fourth quarter. Regression results show that four of the six independent variables, namely Bank Size, Deposit and Short Term Financing to Total Asset, Operating Expense to Operating Income Ratio, and Capital Adequacy Ratio have a significant impact on Net Profit Margin. While Financial to Deposit Ratio and Credit Risk have no significant effect on Net Profit Margin. This study has recommendations to stakeholders in the banking industry pay more attention to these variables to adjust the value of Net Profit Margin. From the results of the intercept shows Panin Dubai Syariah Bank must pay attention to their Net Profit Margin because it has the lowest intercept from other banks. Keywords:  Islamic Banking, Banking Industry, Profit Margin, Profitability, Regression

Abstract

Abstract - In the past few years, records label was facing changes in the music industry that includes opportunities and threat. The opportunities are the rise of digital music that brings out several new product formats, also the partnership with partners to create new platform. Records label also faced the piracy issue as the main threat, which caused great loses to their profit. Therefore, records label, especially in Indonesia, needs innovation in their business model to overcome those changes in music industry structure.This research used the qualitative data research method by using semi-structured interview and secondary data. The respondents in the interview were the member of Trinity Oprima Production and Music Factory Indonesia, especially the business development and digital team. This research revealed the business model canvas, the innovation process and the result of business model innovation implementation. The innovation process shows that both company have initial and existing innovation that have different phases. They was succeed as shown from the result that is measured from the sales unit, margin, and complexity of innovation. By the result of this research, both companies are suggested to have a deep understanding of their business model and make a mapping for the company and partner potential and capability with also evaluate the readiness of the market to accept innovations. Records label also suggested to apply the 360 degrees business model, adaptive to changes and communicate with the partners to create innovations. For the distributors in general, they should apply the super-distribution strategy to gain maximum benefit and be able to expand their distribution channel in form of digital sales or innovation. Keywords: Business Model Innovation, Indonesian Records Label, Music Industry, Music Business Model.

Abstract

The main theme of this research is Capital Market and focus on finding an Efficient and Optimal Portfolio based on the Markowitz Modern Portfolio Theory. Markowitz Modern Portfolio Theory explains that risk could be minimized by diverse the asset as a portfolio. It also explains than an optimal portfolio is a portfolio that gives highest return in a point of risk, or also meaning a portfolio with highest Sharpe ratio.  To find an optimal portfolio, the author made a portfolio simulation. In that simulation, there were 25 portfolios that made from stocks which were established in Jakarta Composite Index. 14 stocks were chosen in the simulation, these stocks were a stock that listed in LQ-45 Index in the January 2nd 2007 up to January 2nd 2012 period. The author uses Solver Add-ins in the process of making the portfolio. From the portfolios that were made, the author compares the portfolios performance with the Jakarta Composite Index performance. The compartment includes risk, return, beta, Sharpe ratio, and Treynor ratio.  The portfolio number 3 which had highest Sharpe ratio shows a better performance than the JCI, while had higher risk. The weight proportion of the Portfolio number 3 was 50.95% ASII, 33.42% BBCA, 9.06% PGAS, 3.98% BBRI and 2.59% PTBA. The result of the Sharpe ratio is 147.49%, the beta was 1.2 and the Treynor ratio is 60.31%. Abstract. According to the Oxford Dictionaries, a leader is the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. A leader needs people [followers] who want to follow and listen to him. Being in charge of a group of people is not just about leading and commanding but it means inspiring people and encouraging them to become better ones. When a leader does those things, he could finally be called as a good leader. The researcher found a CEO who can be stated that he is a good leader based on that definition. The CEO of XXX Company was the one the researcher found. Although he had different cultural background he has been doing his job well and known for his leadership called Human Touch Management. Even if it was one of the factors that lead him to be successful in his career and helped the company to grow, there was not enough information about Human Touch Management. Therefore the researcher decided to study about it and get more information about HTM. In this research, the researcher discussed about what Human Touch Management (HTM) means and what leadership style it belongs to. In order to define what HTM is, the researcher had visited the XXX Company to observe, meet the CEO who created it, and did in depth interview. The researcher could define that Human Touch Management is the leadership style which thinks employees as the most important asset of company and it is human-oriented leadership. It requires leaders to study about human including psychological, physical, and mental factors. By studying about human, the leader can understand why and how human being behaves, thinks, and says. Then, it helps him to know how to develop himself and understand his employees better. Based on those outcomes, the researcher concludes that Human Touch Management can be stated it belongs to Principle-Centered Leadership and Servant Leadership.  Key words: Foreign Leader, Human Touch Management, Leadership, Leadership styles, and Shoe Industry.

Abstract

Abstract- Most businesses have a common goal, which is to maximize shareholder wealth. The profit earned by the company will surely increase the shareholder wealth. As a service business which rely on government projects, the orders from the government will continue to decrease with the uncertainty about the number and value of projects to be implemented by the government and the emergence of new competitors. For that reasons, business strategy is necessary for the family business like the object of this study, CV Karya Agung to survive in the competition. This research is intended to provide recommendations in the best business strategy  for the business’s survivability and development of the business.This study began in October 2014 until June 2015. Data collection is done by interview periodically with some key staff in the CV. Karya Agung. From the interview, the obtained data is used to perform business strategy formulation and the data about estimation amount of investment and the estimated profit from each alternatives is used to choose which alternatives is the best using decision tree tools. In the end the output of decision tree is tested by sensitivity analysis how sensitive is the chosen alternative.The results from this research is alternative about expanding business area to Malang city by renting the office. Compared with other alternatives in the given limit time of 1-year period, the other formulated alternatives  could not provide more profit than expansion to Malang with renting the office alternatives.In conclusion, researcher provided recommendations for CV Karya Agung to do the expand business operations in Malang area by renting the office in order to obtain more business opportunities and more profits so that their business can survive in the competition. Keywords: Family Business, Decision Making, Business Strategy, Consultant of Construction, Survivability

Abstract

This paper examines implementation of using derivative tools which are forward and call options for steel industries in Indonesia. Steel industries in Indonesia depend on importing such commodities and raw materials to fulfill the high consumption because local production is not enough. Therefore, importing which needs forex will face risk in forex itself. The implementation of both tools are described in three different scenario of hedging percentage which are 25:75, 50:50, and 75:25. The results of this study will be as recommendation to steel industries in Indonesia to import raw materials in four months ahead with best toolPurpose: This study has purpose to help steel industries in controlling foreign exchange risk based on its high fluctuation while importing raw materials.Design/methodology/approach: The researcher did data gathering from primary data which is obtained from a representative company of steel and secondary data from the internet. Researcher also provide rule of each methods which is given by a commercial bank.Findings: Using call options is better than forward from expected values consideration with specification from the same bank who provide the tools.Research limitations/implications (if applicable): Only limited in over-the counter derivative which are call options and forward.Originality/value: Direct comparison between call option and forwardKeywords: Derivative, over-the counter, foreign exchange riskCategory: Finance
