Abstract

Television drama is often known as sinetron (Indonesian soap opera), since the plot story is short but it conveys message that describe social life or daily life. Television drama requires proper lighting. Inappropriate lighting arrangement could make the information is not conveyed clearly to the audience. The author found that there are several shortcomings in terms of technical lighting in several television dramas such as in the first series of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta, Dua Garis Biru, and Before Sunrise. The shortcomings appeared in those dramas regarding light intensity that was over exposed, ineffective lighting arrangements and others. To overcome this problem, television drama "Analog" applied the three point of light technique as a basic lighting set-up and applies the artificial light technique as artificial light to convey time background information. In implementing this technique the author uses Godox SL200W and GVM 560AS lighting which are equipped with lighting support equipment such as diffuser filters, CTB filters and CTO filters. The application of the three point of light technique and artificial light technique makes the television drama "Analog" have the right lighting quality. As the result, the drama has an artistic impression and background information that can be conveyed clearly to the audience.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of beauty content consumption on TikTok social media on purchase intention for skincare products among teenage girls. The study is motivated by the high usage of TikTok and the impact of beauty content on young consumers' behavior. It aims to analyze the effect of frequency, intensity, and content type on the stages of the AIDA model (attention, interest, desire, action). A quantitative survey method was applied to 108 teenage girls aged 13–18 who are active TikTok users. Data analysis used simple linear regression to test relationships between variables. Results show that beauty content consumption on TikTok positively and significantly affects each AIDA stage, highlighting TikTok’s role as an effective medium to influence teenage girls' purchase intentions. The study concludes that frequency, intensity, and content type are important considerations for effective marketing strategies in the beauty industry.

Abstract

Due to its unique analog visual quality and ability to evoke nostalgia, the visual esthetics of the Video Home System (VHS) are once again widely used in various digital works. The aim of this research is to assess how well the Node-Based Compositor in Blender 3D replicates VHS visual features in an integrated compositing approach. This study employs a Practice-Based Research methodology through seven experimental phases that investigate node configurations to produce VHS visual features, which were then verified by thirty participants. According to the study's findings, every respondent (100%) stated that the experimental results accurately depicted VHS-style analog graphics, with 53.3% providing full validation and 46.7% providing conditional validation. These results indicate that the Node-Based Compositor in Blender 3D can be used to replicate analog graphics in a VHS manner while providing more effective and integrated compositing techniques. This study offers a different approach to digital animation creation and advances research on the application of Node-Based Compositor in analog visual reproduction.

Abstract

Sports broadcasting production, particularly in Pegadaian Liga 2, still faces various challenges in maintaining visual quality. These challenges are caused by limitations in production equipment, changing field conditions, and less-than-optimal coordination among the production crew. This study aims to identify camera shooting techniques and the factors influencing visual quality in Pegadaian Liga 2 broadcast production. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving four broadcasting practitioners experienced in multi-camera sports broadcasting production. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the processes of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that visual quality is influenced by the cameraman’s ability to capture important moments, mastery of blocking camera techniques and shot composition, as well as teamwork and real-time communication among the crew. In addition, factors such as lighting, weather conditions, and equipment limitations also affect broadcast quality. The use of modern broadcasting technologies, such as super slow-motion and remote production, can help improve broadcast quality, although these technologies have not been implemented evenly. This study concludes that improving the broadcast quality of Pegadaian Liga 2 requires support through equipment upgrades, enhancement of crew competencies, and more optimal utilization of broadcasting technology.

Abstract

Interactive learning media represents one of the most promising innovations for increasing student engagement in the learning process. Kiffah is an interactive learning medium in the form of a digital comic developed to help grade X students understand Fiqh, particularly the Muamalah chapter. Despite the growing adoption of interactive media in Islamic religious education, empirical UX evaluations of such applications using standardized instruments remain scarce in the literature. This study addresses that gap by evaluating the user experience (UX) of the Kiffah interactive learning media using the User Experience Questionnaire Short (UEQ-S), offering novel evidence on how a domain-specific educational comic application performs against international UX benchmarks. Thirty-five grade X Madrasah Aliyah students participated as respondents. Data were collected through media trials followed by UEQ-S administration, measuring Pragmatic Quality and Hedonic Quality dimensions. Results show that Kiffah obtained a score of 1.650 in Pragmatic Quality (Good), 1.571 in Hedonic Quality (Good), and 1.611 overall (Excellent), placing it among the top 10% of products in the UEQ benchmark dataset. These findings confirm that Kiffah delivers a positive and engaging user experience at the prototype stage. The study contributes practical design insights for developers of Islamic educational digital media and recommends further evaluation with larger and more diverse samples.

Abstract

Malioboro is one of the most prominent urban tourism corridors in Yogyakarta, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors. Despite its popularity, access to integrated digital information regarding essential public facilities remains limited, potentially reducing visitor convenience and mobility within the area. This study aims to develop a web-based virtual tour system that integrates spatial information on public facilities to support smart tourism services in the Malioboro area. The system was developed using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), which consists of six phases: concept development, design, material collection, system assembly, testing, and distribution. High-resolution 360° panoramic images and spatial data of public facilities were collected through field surveys and integrated into an interactive virtual tour platform equipped with a web-based map for spatial navigation. The developed system enables users to virtually explore the Malioboro area while accessing location-based information and navigation support through an immersive interface. Functional testing confirmed that all system features operated as intended, while a usability evaluation involving 50 respondents yielded a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 84.75, indicating high usability and strong user acceptance. The findings demonstrate that integrating immersive virtual tour technology with interactive web map-based public facility information can support destination exploration while improving access to practical tourism information. This study highlights the potential of virtual tours to function not only as promotional media but also as interactive tourism information systems that support smart tourism implementation in urban destinations.

Abstract

The development of multimedia technology has encouraged the increasing use of short films as an effective medium for delivering information, entertainment, and social messages. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method in the production process of the short film “Bipol in Love.” The film tells the story of student life and romance inspired by the Bus Poltek transportation facility at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta. This research applied a qualitative creation-based approach using six MDLC stages: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The concept stage determined the film objectives, target audience, and storyline, while the design stage focused on scriptwriting and storyboard creation. Material collecting involved filming and gathering multimedia assets from several locations, followed by the assembly stage using multimedia editing software to produce the final video. The testing stage was conducted through internal alpha testing to evaluate the quality of the film. The results showed that the MDLC method supported the production process of the short film “Bipol in Love” systematically and efficiently. The final output was a 16-minute and 12-second short film distributed through YouTube and promoted via Instagram. Therefore, the study concludes that the MDLC method was effective in organizing and managing the production activities of the short film “Bipol in Love.”
