Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study is the development learning module  biology ipa scientific oriented approach for improved critical thinking on the structure of plants in class VIII SMP. The research was conducted at the campus of the University of Riau FKIP Biology Education and Student responses conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru in March to December 2015. This study uses 4-D model of development. Stages 4-D consists of four stages, namely Define (Definition Phase), Design (Stage Design), Develop (Development Phase), and Disseminate (Phase dissemination of). Data collection instruments used were sheets of validation and student questionnaire responses. Sheets validation judged by five validator which is composed of three lecturers and two junior high school teacher that consists of four aspects: the feasibility of the content, language, and kegrafisan dish. Results of the study the average score for the validation of the feasibility aspects of the content, language, serving and graphic on module to obtain an average score of 3.4 with very valid category. Feasibility aspects contents obtained an average score of 3.5 in the category of very valid, linguistic aspects obtained a score of 3.4 with very valid category, next to the aspect grain obtained a score of 3.4 category is very valid, and aspects kegrafisan obtain an average score of 3, 3 categories are very valid. While the average score of students' responses to a questionnaire developed module is 3.4 to excellent category. It was concluded that biological science learning modules oriented scientific approach that has been developed can be used and tested by teachers as an alternative in learning activities. Keywords: Critical thinking, Development, Module, Scientific Approach

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the ability of the Student Profile Study Program FKIP Riau University Biology Education in Developing Learning Tool on Course PPL II 2013/2014. Research conducted at the University Campus Biology Education FKIP Riau in February 2015 to April 2015. This research is descriptive population in this research is the students of Biology Education FKIP Riau University. While the sample in this study are students who take courses Second Field Experience Program (PPL II) Academic Year 2013/2014 which amounted to 43 people. The research data derived from primary data obtained directly through the instrument in the form of sheets of assessment of learning tools and secondary data obtained from the document recapitulation of the value of the course PPL II Academic Year 2013/2014. Based on the research ability of students PPL II in preparing the study on subjects PPL II Academic Year 2013/2014 can be seen that the RPP showed excellent category criteria with the percentage of 95.17%, LKS demonstrate sufficient criteria categories by percentage of 62.33%, the Draft Evaluation criteria showed excellent category with the percentage of 87.78%, so that the students' ability to construct a learning tool in the course PPL II Academic Year 2013/2014 classified as excellent with the percentage of 81.7%. Key words:  profiles , capabilities , subjects PPL I

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe biology teachers’ Technological PedagogicalContent Knowledge (TPCK) at Public Senior High School in Pekanbaru. This studyheld on November 2013 until March 2014. The sample of this study was 33 biologyteachers at Public Senior High School in Pekanbaru that selected by random samplingtechnique. This study conducted with closed-ended and open-ended questionnaire.The closed-ended questionnaire consists of 35 items and is 7 subdomains. Thesubdomains are Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK),Content Knowledge (CK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK),Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK). The closed-endedquestionnaire items is valid and reliable. Descriptive study was implemented in thisstudy. The result showed that biology teachers’ TK at Public Senior High School inPekanbaru was good enough (M=3,38), PK was good (M=4,05), CK was good(M=3,92), TPK was good (M=3,70), TCK was good (M=3,70), PCK was very good(M=4,26) and TPCK was good (M=3,94). An overall, biology teachers’ TPCK wasgood (M=3,72). That result indicated that biology teacher at Public Senior HighSchool in Pekanbaru could implement their technology knowledge in biologylearning.Keywords: Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Senior High School,Biology Teacher

Abstract

This study aimed to improve learning outcomes biological activity and X.2 grade students of SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2012/2013 through the implementation of cooperative learning model make a match. This research is a classroom action research was conducted in October-November 2012. The subjects were students of SMAN 10 Pekanbaru X.2 class numbering 30 people consisting of 12 male students and 18 female students. The research instrument consists of learning tools and data collection instruments. Research procedure consists of the planning, implementation of action, observation and reflection. Parameter study consisted of student activities, teacher activities and learning outcomes. The results show the average activity in the first cycle is 81.91% (average) increase in cycle II with an average activity of students is 88.12% (excellent). Average absorption of the first cycle students is 66.81% (average) and increased in the second cycle with an average 82.16% (excellent).Mastery learning students in the first cycle is 63.33% (complete) and 36.67% (not finished), and the second cycle increased to 100% (complete). In cycle I, a group award for four groups earn great rewards and a group of super honored. In the second cycle all super group awarded. Activities of teachers in the first cycle with the average of 92.85% (excellent) on the second cycle increased to 100% (very good). From the results of this study concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model Make A Match can enhance biological activity and learning outcomes of students in Grades X.2 SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2012/2013.Keywords: Cooperative Models Make A Match, Activities and Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop the classroom-based assessment on biology subjects for XI grade Senior high school. Assessment consists of seven graderoom-based assessment techniques. There are paper and pencil test, attitude, performance, product, project, self-assessment and portofolio. The development Class-based software is based on ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The development was conducted at Biology Education University of Riau and the limiting test was conducted at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The research held on January until April 2014. Used research and Development (R & D) design with ADDIE model. Subjects consisted of four Basic Competencies (KD) in the XI grade Senior high school. Data were collected by filling the validity of the assessment sheet by each validator which consists of internal and external validators. Collected datas were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Average results of the validity of class-based assessment are: 3.6 for the paper and pencil test, 3.7 for attitude assessment, 3.7 for performance assessment, 3.6 for product assessment, 3.6 for project assessment, 3.8 for self-assessment and 3.7 for portofolio assessment. On the last stage of the research, a limiting test on the XI grade senior high school. The results from validation, we can conclude that the class-based assessment in high school biology subjects class XI obtain the category of very valid and can be implemented in the learning process.Keywords : Biology Subject, Classroom-Based Assessment, Development

Abstract

This study aims to determine the insect pollinators species in horticulture cropsflowers at Penyasawan Village Kampar Regency and for designing learning media arethe relevant to the Interaction Patterns of Living Things concept. This research is adescriptive study was conducted from June to November 2013. The method in thisstudy used a survey method. Determining of the research location by purposivesampling, based on the types of gardens in the Penyasawan Village Kampar Regency.That are cucumber (Cucumis sativus), luffa (Luffa acutangula), peppers (Capsicumannuum), and eggplant (Solanum melongena). Biological parameters measured is theinsect pollinators species, and physical parameters measured are temperature,humidity and light intensity. Based on the results of this study, founded 12 species ofinsects pollinators include Xylocopa confusa, Xylocopa latipes, Amegilla.sp, Apiscerana, Trigona.sp, Ropalidia fasciata, Nomia punctata, Hylaeus.sp, Meghachile.sp,Syrphus.sp, Hypolimna Bolina, and Appias libythea. The results of the study in theform of videos and photo of specimens will be used as a learning source of biologysuch as learning media (interactive multimedia) to supported the Interaction Patternsof Living Beings concept on material living interactions in the junior high schoolclass VII.Keywords: Insect pollinator , horticulture crops, multimedia biology learning

Abstract

The study has been conducted to determine the structure of horn beetle populations (Orycetes rhinoceros) In Palm Oil Plantation Village Community Kenantan - Riau Kampar regency, held in June-September 2011. Determination of purposive sampling stations were done by considering the age of oil palm trees found in the study site. Samples taken Orycetes rhinoceros with three ways, namely, using mist nets, ferotrap, and direct sampling. Parameters measured include: biological parameters of abundance, age structure, and biomass. While the physical-chemical parameters of temperature, humidity, and wind speed. The results showed that the population abundance at the station I found the pupa 43 tail, tail imago1 73, and 60 head while imago2 abundance at station II, the pupa 30 tails, 61 imago1 imago2 tails and 40 tails, the highest abundance occurred in August and abundance lowest occurred in June, the age structure is most commonly found in the age structure of the imago1 stadia breeding period and the highest biomass of biomass on imago1 stadia.Keywords: Coleoptera, Orycetes rhinoceros.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research has been carried out (PTK), which aims to enhance motivation and learning outcomes Biological science using Mind Mapping Strategies in Quantum Learning in class XI Science 2 Nurul Falah Pekanbaru SMA FY 2009/2010. The study was conducted on May 21, 2010 until the date of June 7, 2010. number of students in research as many as 40 people (12 male students and 28 female students). The parameters of this study is the motivation and learning outcomes. The results showed that the average score of the students' motivation before learning to use Mind Mapping Strategies in Quantum Learning is 2.12 (Medium), and the average score of motivation after learning to use Mind Mapping Strategies in Quantum Learning is 3.01 (High) , with a percentage (%) increased motivation for 42.01%. The average absorption cycle 1 students 77.8% (good), while in cycle 2 the average student absorption of 84.4% (very good). Mastery learning of individual students in cycle 1 (daily tests I) that is 90% (complete), at cycle 2 mastery learning students increased to 100% (complete). The final conclusion of Learning Implementation Using Mind Mapping Strategies in Quantum Learning to Enhance Motivation and Learning Outcomes High School Students Science Biology Pekanbaru Nurul Falah School Year 2009/2010.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The purpose of this study was to develop a learning module oriented guided inquiry model of the material circulation system of class XI in improving students' critical thinking skills. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education Studies Program Faculty of Teaching and Education University of Riau and SMAN 1 Pekanbaru in February 2015 - May 2016. The research is a research development by using ADDIE model of integration to the stage of development. Instruments of data collection in this study is the assessment sheet / validation module, student questionnaire responses and critical thinking skills assessment sheet. Once the module is developed, validated by 4 validator then the tests I at 12 4th semester students of biology education FKIP UR and II trials in 20 students in Class XI SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. The tests for aspects of the content presented, language, presentation and kegrafisan module obtained an average score 4.20 (valid). Aspects of the content presented is obtained an average score 4.28 (very valid), aspects of language obtained a score 4.07 (valid), then to obtain a grain aspect score 4.16 (valid) and aspects of kegrafisan obtain an average score 4.30 (very valid). In the student questionnaire responses in the experiment I belong to the category module SB (Very Good), while the second test the response of 20 students of the modules developed is 84% in one study and 82% in the second study with either category. As for the average results of analysis of students' answers on the learning modules acquire 82% considered good value. Abstract

Have implemented quality improvement research learning courses in Biotechnology Biology Education Guidance and Counseling Program at the University of Riau July to December 2013. Evaluation of student learning outcomes is done by comparing the student learning outcomes before and after implementation of the CBC. The samples were student results of 2005, 2006, 2007 ( before CBC ) and the class of 2008, 2009, 2010 ( after CBC ). Descriptive analysis of the data by comparing the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of learning outcomes and analyze the weaknesses in the implementation of the lecture and practicum students who have obtained. Results showed that without the use of practical learning outcomes for the class of 2005 earned an average value of 75.59, class of 2006, the average value of 73.71 and the class of 2007 with an average value of 76.72. Overall average value of 75.34 . While learning to use lab results to the class of 2008 with an average value of 72.32, for the class of 2009 with an average value of 76.66 and for the class of 2010 with an average value of 76.72. Overall average value of 74.94. Learning outcomes are assessed on the cognitive aspects of the implementation of learning theory after CBC ( 74.94 ) is lower than before using CBC ( 75.34 ), the psychomotor aspects of the implementation of the learning lab ( 76.33 ) is higher than the results of the study only assessed from the theory. Thus the addition of psychomotor aspects make students more easily understand and can apply the theory in practice, so as to improve learning outcomes.Keywords: Competency-Based Curriculum, Learning Outcomes, Theory and Practice of Biotechnology
