Abstract

The aim of this research are to improve motivation and students activity of learning class X1 SMAN 1 Kampar Kiri by using think talk write strategy. This class action research has been done on March till May 2010. Subject of the research are 32 class X1 student of SMAN 1 Kampar Kiri with 14 males and 18 females. Parameters of the research are motivation with several indicators namely: interest, relevancy, hope, result, and students activity. The average score means of student motivation before research treatment is 2,93 (medium category), after cycle 1 get increase to 3,48 (medium category) with increase presentation 18,15%%, cycle 2 can make increase till reach means 4,92 (high category) with increase presentation 34,38%. The average student activity increased from cycle 1 is 65.6% and the cycle 2 is 83.2%. Using think talk write strategy can improve motivation and students activity of learning class X1 SMAN 1 Kampar Kiri.

Abstract

Action research has been conducted with the implementation of inquiry - based learning strategies in the implementation of applied biology laboratory activity and to improve student learning outcomes . The experiment was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013 in the Biology Faculty of Teacher education Program UR . Subjects were students take courses in Applied Biology with a number of 52 students ( 10 men and 42 women ) . Parameters measured were activities in practicum and student learning outcomes . The study consisted of 2 cycles with 6 meetings . The data were analyzed descriptively . The results show there is an increase in activity and student learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle . Student activity in cycle 1 : submit ideas , doing experiments , working together , observations classified as category very well , whereas hypothesize , ask and make conclusions either classified category . While on cycle 2 activity categories well and asking other classified categories classified as very good . Learning outcomes in cycle 1 is very good very good category 17 students ( 32.69 % ) and second cycle increased to 31 students ( 59.61 % ) . Overall the implementation of inquiry -based learning can enhance the activity and student learning outcomes in the practicum course in the second semester of Applied Biology academic year 2012/2013 in Biology Education Riau University.Keywords : Botany , inquiry

Abstract

structure of sapling strata vegetation in Hutan Wisata Rimbo Tujuh Danau Kampar regency Riau province on July 2011. Method which had been used in this research is plot method in 10 x 20 m and main plot in 20 x 20 m that’s distributed regularly. The sample was gotten from 3 locations, they are Tanjung Putus lake, Pinang Luar lake and Pinang Dalam lake which were chosen by purposive sampling. The result of this research was founded 22 species of sapling from 19 familia, they are 14 familia from 14 species of sapling in Tanjung Putus lake, 11 familia from 13 species of sapling in Pinang Luar lake and 13 familia from 16 species of sapling in Pinang Dalam lake. Dipterocarpaceae and Myrtaceae are the most of familia. The species of sapling strata vegetation that had the highest Important Value Index in Tanjung Putus lake and Pinang Dalam lake is Kuras (Dryobalanops sp.) while in Pinang Luar lake is Samoram/Cengal (Hopea mengarawan). Varians Indeks (H’) from 3 locations is about 2,298 – 2,539. Smilarity indeks on 3 research locations to be compared have some smilarity. The conclusion from the result of this research is varians of sapling strata vegetation that were founded in Hutan Wisata Rimbo Tujuh Danau can be divide to middle vegetation.Keyword : compotition, Hutan Wisata Rimbo Tujuh Danau and structure, sapling.

Abstract

The aims to determine the effect of chitosan concentration and smoking time on the quality of smoked catfish (Pangasius sp.) and produce Student Worksheet design. This research was divided into two step, there is experimental step and the Student Worksheet design. At the experimental step, used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Factor I is the concentration of chitosan, and factor II is duration of smoking time. This study consisted of 12 treatments with 3 replications so that there were 36 experimental units. Parameters observed were protein content, fat content, water content and organoleptic on appearance, scent, taste and texture. The results showed that the effect of chitosan concentration and smoking time had an effect on treated with 3% chitosan and 3 days of smoking showed the best results, with the total protein content was 35.89%, fat content was 29.72% and water content was 15.27%. Meanwhile, the organoleptic test results of smoked catfish on the aspects of appearance, scent, taste and texture, the best treatment was also found in smoked catfish with 3% chitosan treatment and 3 days of smoking time. The results can be used as a student worksheet design on Food Additives material for class XI high school.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness addition of chitosan shells on the shelf life of salted fish cork (Ophiocephalus striatus) in February and May 2015. The results are used to develop the concept of learning modules on the subjects of food biotechnology Biotechnology. This research was carried out by two phases: the field of research and development phase of learning modules. Research conducted experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, which consists of 4 treatments and 3 replicates in order to obtain 12 experimental design. If there is a real test there will be a further test DMRT. The parameters observed water content, protein content, fat content, organoleptic color, aroma and texture. The results showed that administration of chitosan have a significant effect on water content, protein content and fat content in cork salted fish (Ophiocephalus striatus). Chitosan concentration of 2% is the best concentration. Where to lower the water content of 23.11%, amounting to 0.182% fat content can also increase the protein content of 60.95%. While the color and aroma of salted fish most preferred cork panelist in the treatment of 1.5% while the texture of the panelists preferred the treatment of 1%. Results of the study can be used as a learning module that is in the food preservative materials on subjects Biotechnology. Keywords: Chitosan, Salted fish Cork, Learning Module.

Abstract

  The objective of this research was to examine the allele frequency and dissemination A BO blood group of SMUN  I Melayu student, Bengkalis regency. This research have done on November 2001 – February 2002. Survey method was used in this study. The parameter observation was allele frequency  IA, lB, and IO. Data  analyzed  by  using Hardy  Weinberg  Law  and  chi  square.  The results shows that  the allele frequency IA (0,152), lB (0,326), 1° (0,522). There was no equilibrium in allele dissemination.   Kay words : ABO blood group, dissemination, equilibrium. SMUN I Bengkalis regency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Parasitology is the study of living organisms as parasites in humans and their relationship as causes of disease, disorders and death. In the course of parasitology, students are faced with the problem of some diseases by parasites that are widely circulated in society, so students are required to have a broader knowledge of a disease caused by parasitic organisms. Thus, the ability of literacy attitude is needed. Literacy of science is an important ability to support the ability to explain and apply science in life. However, in fact the ability of science literacy has not been trained properly. For that done a research in improving the attitude of science literacy in students. This study aims to analyze the improvement of science literacy attitude aspect in biology education students through the application of problem based learning model (PBL) in the course of parasitology. This study is a quasi experiment with non-equivalent pretest research design and posttest control group desaign. The sample of this study consists of 36 students who take the course of parasitology. Technique of data collecting is done by using scale scale of science literacy attitude which arranged by likert scale. Data analysis used SPSS 22 program. The result showed that the N-gain class of experiment and control class were in medium category (0,56 and 0,44). It can be concluded that the learning model of Problem Based Learning can improve the science literacy aspect in biology education students who take the course of parasitology. Keywords: Parasitology, Literacy and Learning Model of PBL

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to analyze student's metacognition skill profiles atSMPN 23 Pekanbaru academic year 2014/2015. This research was performed on 17th to 28th November 2014. The sample in this research is class VIII as many as 108 students were selected through stratified sampling technique. The data collection instruments used were a closed questionnaire and interview. The whole point questionnaire covered otherwise valid and reliable. The collected data were analyzed descriptive. Picture of student’s metacognition skills of SMPN 23 Pekanbaru obtained as follows: metacognition abilities of students in designing learning strategies (Planning) has developed differently with a score of metacognition 73, metacognition skills of students in selecting and using learning strategies ( Management Strategies) developed very well expressed by a score of metacognition 81, the ability to monitor student’s metacognition learning strategies (Monitoring) has developed differently with a score of metacognition 73, student’s metacognition skills in combining different learning strategies (Debugging) expressed always very good with metacognition score of 81 in the assessment of the ability of metacognition learning strategies student’s (Evaluation) declared progressing well with a score of 79. Overall, the metacognition scores of students is 77, then student’s metacognition skill profiles of SMPN 23 Pekanbaru class VIII in Biology Science Education declared the school year 2014/2015 is growing very well. Key words: profile of student metacognition skill, junior high school, sainsBiology learning

Abstract

The research has been to know understanding of the biology teachers to the unit level education curriculum (KTSP) at SMAN in Kuansing regency 2013 year. This typenof research is a descriptive study. The sample was biology teachers SMAN in Kuansing regencies, with indicators the concept of unit level education curriculum (KTSP), development program, implementation of learning, and evaluation of learning. Data collection technique using written tests total of 30 question. From the research results obtained percentage understanding teachers can be seen from the indicators concept KTSP is 60,2% (quite category). The development program is 67,7% (quite category). The implementation of learning is 75,6% (good category). And the evaluation of learning is 65,8% (quite category). From the research results can be concluded that understanding of the biology teachers to the unit level education curriculum (KTSP) at SMAN in Kuansing regencies 2013 year is 67,3% (quite category).Keywords: Understanding, Biology teachers, KTSP

Abstract

The effect of Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) and Benzyl Adenine (BA) of concentration of leaf eksplan Citrus sinensis L.  by in vitro was studied at tissue culture laboratory of Balai Benih Induk Pekanbaru, The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with three replicates.  The treatment consist of A (without NAA and BA), B (0,1 ppm NAA and 0,1 ppm BA), C (1 ppm NAA and 0,1  ppm BA), D (10 ppm NA and 0,1 ppm BA), E (0,1 ppm NAA and 1 ppm BA). F (1 ppm NAA and 1 ppm BA). G (10 ppm NAA and  1 ppm BA), H (0,1  ppm NAA and  10 ppm BA), I (1 ppm NAA and 10 ppm BA) and J (10 ppm NAA and 10 ppm BA),The results of this experiment showed that respond growth of good leaf eksplan.  NAA and BA at concentration  0,1;  1 and  10 ppm can yield forming o f root and callus can’t forming of buds. Callus initiation and root quickest of concentration  10 ppm NAA and 0,1 ; 1; 10 BA ppm that is  10,00 and  14,66.   Amount    root o f concentration  1 ppm NAA and  10 ppm BA is 29,66 and wet weight of callus high at gave of concentration 10 ppm NA and 10 ppm BA is 0,25 gr.   Key words : Citrus Sinensis L, BA, Eksplan, NAA
