Abstract

This research aims to determine the composition and diversity of soil insect in Riau University Arboretum, and obtains an alternative learning source. The method of this research is survey. Locations were selected based on purposive random sampling considering 3 habitat types. The parameters used in this study is the composition and diversity of soil insect. Physical and chemical parameters measured were soil temperature, pH, water content and organic matter content. The data obtained are presented in tables and graphs then analyzed descriptively to be associated with the learning set of material. Based on the research that has been conducted, there are differences in the composition of soil insects at each research station. Of the three stations, there were obtained 5 orders and 12 species. Order were found which is consist of Hymenoptera, Collembola, Orthoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. At the first station, found as many as 494 individual. At the second station, there was found as many as 217 insects and found 271 insects in stations III. The diversity of soil insect is classified as moderate with scale 1-3. The results can be used to develop inquiry-based learning animal diversity in the form of Student Work Sheet.Keywords : Composition, Diversity, Learning Inquiry, Soil Insect

Abstract

interactions on levels of vitamin C and weight loss of chili (Capsicum frutescens L.), which is performed at the Laboratory of Biology Education and the Laboratory of Soil Science FKIP Faperta UR on November-December 2011. The research design was randomized block design (RGD) factorial with two factors: package varians and time of storage. The package varians consist of plastic, newsprint, and banana leaves, and the time of storage consist of 0 day (control), 3 days, 6 days and 9 days with three replications. The parameters in this reseach are vitamin C levels, weight loss, color and texture of chili. The levels of vitamin C and weight loss were analyzed by ANAVA and then tested by DMRT 5% level, while the observation of color and texture were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the interaction of a banana leaf package varians and storage of 3 days have the highest levels of vitamin C is 55,17 mg and the interaction of a newsprint package varians and storage of 9 days showed the highest weight loss is 26,32%. Banana leaves package varians have the highest levels of vitamin C 51,16 mg and the lowest weight loss is 5,95%. 3 days storage time have the highest levels of vitamin C 53,12 mg and the lowest weight loss is 7,84%. The conclusion is the interaction of banana leaf package varians and 3 days time storage gives the best quality of color and texture compared to other treatment interactions. Banana leaves are good for package chili. The increasing of time storage will increase the weight loss, decrease the vitamin C level and the color and texture quality of chili.Keywords : Chili, Levels of vitamin C, Package varians, Time of storage, Weight loss

Abstract

This research have purposed to know about effect of fish palette to growth Kiapu that conducted in the strands of metal house in Biological education Laboratory FKIP UNRI and PKA Faperika UNRI at June-July 2007. This research is an experiment with complete Random Design (RAL) that includes 4 treatment on the dosis of palette about 0; 4,5; 6 and 7,5 gr/10 L each with 6 time retesting. The parameter have observed included chemical physics of water factor is ammonia, free of CO2, disolved oxygen, pH and temperatur, while biology factor have observed is the growth of kiapu enveloped long of roots, sum up roots, wide of leafs, sum of leafs and sum of seeds. The growth of Kiapu data have analyzed with the ANOVA with the DMRT continued test on 5% of significance. The results of research indicate that gift palette of fish is effecting to water quality (ammonia, free of CO2 and disolved oxygen concentration) affecting also to biology factor of Kiapu is long of roots, sum up roots, sum up leafs and sum up seeds except wide leafs. On the A2 (6 gr/10 L) is effective for increasing sum up roots, sum up leafs and sum up seeds.

Abstract

The most problem occurs in the praticum in the real laboratory, so it's not going well. It can affect the depth of concepts, principles, laws and theories that must be understood by the biology teacher candidates. One of the alternatives that can be done is practicum to use a virtual laboratory. The purpose of research is to develop a practical guidebook for animal tissue materials in practicum activities using virtual laboratories for teacher candidates. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of PMIPA FKIP Riau University in December 2020–May 2021. It used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation expert and response questionnaires. The results showed that the guide books is good quality and suitable to be used as independent learning resources to increase content knowledge for teacher candidates.

Abstract

Has been studied to determine the ability of creative thinking and mastery of the concept of students in learning biology class XI SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. Research was conducted in January to March 2011 with sample student is 1 and XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. This research is an experiment with a class XI IPA 1 as a classroom experiment and XI IPA 2 as the control class. The parameters used in the study of creative thinking skills and mastery of the concept of students. The result of creative thinking skills can be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 69.40 with less category, while the control class at 56.60 with less category. The result of student’s mastery of concepts can also be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 80.08 with a high category, while the control class at 68.29 to the medium category. Student learning outcomes can also be seen from the experimental class at 74.74 and 62.45 for the control class. Based on research that has been done, the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) in teaching biology showed better results in terms of creative thinking skills, mastery of concepts and student’s class XI IPA SMAN 2 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2010/2011.Keywords: Creative Thinking, Concept Mastery, Problem Based Learning (PBL)

Abstract

This research aims develop weblog media about environmental contamination material to determine the reflective thinking skills of junior high school students. The development of a weblog as a learning medium used the ADDIE model. In this research up to the development phase. The weblog design has gone through the validation phase. The validation was performed by 4 validators using a validation sheet. Student responses were collected using a questionnaire and reflective thinking skills using multiple choice test. The developed weblog has been tested on 20 students of 8th grade. The results showed that the use of blogging media positively impacted students' reflective thinking skills, given the increase in mean pre-test and post-test scores from a score of 69.5 to 82. The increase in reflective thinking skills was seen in of the three indicators of reflective thinking, namely reacting from 79% to 81,5% in high category, elaborating from 50% in low category to 75% in high category and contemplating from 67% in normal category to 78,4% in high category. The use of blogging media to reinforce thinking skills is also supported by the results of student responses with an average result of 92,8% for aspects of reflective thinking.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this research to determine the effect of the hormone 2,4-D and BAP on callus growth Kasturi Orange (Citrus microcarpa).  This research consisted of research using experimental method completely randomized design factorial.  Parameters observed is percentage of explants, while appearing callus, callus width and texture of the callus. Research results and a growing percentage of the width callus explants were analyzed by ANOVA and a further test DMRT at 5% level, when it appears callus and callus texture done by descriptively. The result shows that a combination of hormones D4B1 and D4B2 produces a callus emerged fastest of 3.3 HSK. The highest percentage of callus formation that is 100% contained in the treatment of D2B0, D2B0.5 - D4B0. The mean width of callus was highest in treatment D4B2 with a width of 0.97cm. Embryogenic callus resulting by treatment of D2B1, D2B2 ,and D3B0.  Keywords: Hormones, Callus, Orange Kasturi

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the biological activity and learning outcomes of students with learning model Cooperative Script implementation on SMP VII5 class Pekanbaru 14 Academic Year 2012/2013. The research was conducted in April-May 2013. The subjects were 14 grade students VII5 SMP Pekanbaru, amounting to 32 people (15 students and 17 female students). Parameters measured were student activity consisting of 6 indicators and student learning outcomes consisting of absorption, mastery learning of individual students as well as teachers' activities. The average activity of students in the first cycle is 78.75% (average) increase in cycle II with an average activity of students is 91.92% (excellent). Absorption of students in the first cycle is 77.56 (enough) increased to 82.75 (enough). Mastery learning students in the first cycle is 59.38% (completed) increased in the second cycle to 81.25% (complete). Teachers activities in the first cycle with the average of 94.4% (very good) increased in the second cycle is 95.8% (very good). From the research it can be concluded that the application of learning models Cooperative Script can increase the activity and student learning outcomes biology class Pekanbaru VII5 SMP 14 Academic Year 2012/2013.Keywords: Coopertaif Script, student activities, Biology Learning Outcom

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn nursery technology, the storage of scions always requires approriate optimization of shelf life and good packing This study aims to determine the effect of shelf life and storage materials on viability of soursop (Annona muricata) var. Ratu grafting by applying randomized factorial design with 2 factors: storage time and type of packing materials, with 3 times repeatation. The duration of storage time factor consist of 5 levels: 0 day, 3 days, 5 days, 1 week and 2 weeks meanwhile packing materials factor consist of 2 levels: parafilm and polyethylene. The highest survival rate was obtained at 0 day shelf life time and parafilm as storage material, whereas the lowest one was shown at 2 weeks storage with polyethylene as storage material.Keywords: Scion, Grafting, Storage, Packing Material, Soursop

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of the Student Profile Task CompletedCourse In Learning Program Development Biology (P3B) In Biology EducationProgram, University of Riau. This study was conducted in May 2012 to November2012 at the Faculty of Teacher Education Study Program of Biology, University ofRiau. This research is descriptive. The population of this study is the first semesterstudents and students of semester 2011/2012 2012/2013 using the total sample. Theparameters of this study consisted of primary data, lesson plans and worksheets onstudent class of 2010 and secondary data, lesson plans, worksheets, InstructionalMaterials, Media, and Assessment Tool for the student of 2009 Based on the resultsobtained for RPP research on student semester 2011/2012 (78.25%), student semester2012/2013 (70.09%), designing student worksheets on odd semester 2011/2012(74.82%), student semester 2012/2013 (60.06%), designing teaching materials (76 ,41%) medium (67.50%), and assessment tools (77.50%). It can be concluded that theability profile class of 2009 students who have taken classes in the first semester2011/2012 P3B in completing the task subjects P3B higher than regular student classof 2010 who have taken the course P3B in odd semester 2012-2013.Keywords: Profile, Development Biology Learning Program, Learning Tool
