Abstract

This research is aimed to study the effect of project based , cooperative type GI and conventional learning strategies on higher order thinking ability of graders XI SMAN 2 Pematangsiantar. This quasi experiment was implemented as pre test and post test control group design. The population was all grades XI MIA SMAN 2 Pematangsiantar in Academic Year 2014/2015, consisted of seven classes. As many as three clasess XI4 (PjBL), XI5 (GI) dan XI7 (conventional) were chosen as samples by cluster random sampling technique. Research instruments was  higher order thinking ability (Cognitive test C4-C6). The parametric assumptions showed that the data were normally distributed and homogenous. The Anacova and Tukey’s test, were used for hypothesis testing by using SPSS v.19 statistical software. The result showed that project based learning, cooperative type GI and convensional learning strategies significantly affect student higher order thinking ability (F=14.24;P=0.000). Students who were taught by project based learning strategies (77,88 ± 7,35) had significantly different higher order thinking ability compared with those who were taught with cooperative type GI (71,10 ± 6,95) (P=0.001) and conventional learning strategies (68,05 ± 10,38) (P=0.000) even thought cooperative type GI learning strategies wasn’t significantly different compared with conventional learning strategies (P=0.237). Based on the result of research can be concluded that students higher order thinking ability on project based learning had higher than cooperative type GI and conventional learning strategies.Keywords: PjBL (Project Based Learning), Cooperative GI (Group Investigation), Biology Higher Order Thinking Ability.

Abstract

The development of Student is one of lectures in the department of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Ahmad Dahlan University; in the second semester. The common learning strategy, expository strategy, was useless in increasing the activeness and learning responsibility of students. One of efforts to overcome the problem was a Lesson Study. The lesson Study implements models, strategies, approaches, and methods which is appropriate to situation, conditions and problems faced in learning activities. Lesson Study was carried out by a number of lectures in three scientific activities, planning (Plan), implementation (do) and reflection (see).The aim of this research was to implement Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray learning model in order to improve the activeness and responsibility of students during the implementation of lesson study. The lesson study was carried out by involving 4 lectures and 50 students. Data of activeness and responsibility were collected and then further analyzed. The result shows that the implementation of Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray learning model during the implementation of lesson study increased the activeness and learning responsibility of students. Keywords :activeness , learning responsibility , cooperative learning model - Stay Two Two stray

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serbuk bunga sukun (Artocarpus altilis L.) sebagai isi ulang anti nyamuk elektrik terhadap pengendalian nyamuk Aedes aegypti  L. dan untuk mengetahui kadar bunga sukun yang paling banyak membunuh nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara menguji isi ulang anti nyamuk elektrik yang terbuat dari bunga sukun terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan 5 pengulangan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis varian satu arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT. Rata-rata kematian nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. pada perlakuan l adalah 0,0 ekor, perlakuan ll adalah 5,6 ekor, perlakuan lll adalah 9,2 ekor, perlakuan lV adalah 12,2 ekor dan perlakuan V adalah 15,6 ekor. Setelah itu dilakukan BNT maka rata-rata jumlah kematian nyamuk pada perlakuan lI dibandingkan dengan perlakuan (III, IV, V), perlakuan  III dibandingan dengan perlakuan (IV dan V) dan perlakuan IV dibandingkan dengan perlakuan V. Perlakuan  II membunuh nyamuk paling sedikit yaitu 5,6 ekor dengan presentase kematian 28% dan perlakuan V membunuh nyamuk paling banyak yaitu 15,6 ekor dengan presentase kematian 78%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan analisis varian satu arah dengan  tingkat kepercayaan 99% menghasilkan F hitung (198,26) > F tabel (4,33) dan BNT  dengan taraf signifikan 0,01 maka dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh serbuk bunga sukun (Artocarpus altilis L.) sebagai isi ulang anti nyamuk elektrik dan kadar 2 gr adalah kadar bunga sukun yang paling banyak membunuh nyamuk.   Kata Kunci : Bunga Sukun, Anti Nyamuk Elektrik, Aedes aegypti

Abstract

Palm oil is the largest agricultural product produced by Indonesia. Palm oil contains a large group of vitaminE which are tocopherol and tocotrienol which have been widely reported their efficacy in inhibiting the growthand development of diseases such as antioxidants, anti-cancer, cholesterol inhibitors, prevent premature aging,and cardioprotective effects. This study aims to segregate and identify the intensity of each isomer ofTocotrienol Rich Fraction (TRF). Segregation and identification are done through using columnchromatography, UV-visible spectrophotometer, and HPLC. The spectral pattern of TRF shows the presenceof tocotrienol isomers at wavelengths of 292-298 nm. Five spectra patterns identified with the highest intensitywere demonstrated by the γ-tocotrienol isomers at 10.86 min, δ-tocotrienol at the minute of 9.36, α-tocotrienolat the minute of 12:42, α-tocopherol at 21.11 and α-T1 at 17.35 with 0 intensity.

Abstract

Endemisitastikus (Muridae) Sulawesi sangattinggi. Studi kromosom tikus (Muridae) di Sulawesi belum banyak diketahui termasuk kromosom Rattus hoffmanni (Matschie, 1901). Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kromosom tikus Rattus hoffmanni (Matschie, 1901) dari Gunung Bawakareng Sulawesi Selatan. Kromosom diambil dari sumsum tulang humerus dengan perlakuan inhibitor mitosis Kolkisin 0.005%, larutan hipotonis KCl 0.075 M dan larutan fiksatif Carnoy. Pewarnaan kromosom dilakukan menggunakan Giemsa. Kromosom dianalisis menggunakan program ImageJ Levan Plugin dan dibuat kariotipe. Hanya satu individu R.  hoffmanni betina (MZB 37043) yang menunjukkan kariotipe representatif. R.  hoffmanni memiliki 2n = 44, FN = 61 dan FNa = 59. Kariotipe hasil studi ini merupakan kariotipe pertama pada spesies R.  hoffmanni.

Abstract

Abstract - This study aimed to examine the effect of GA3 to peanuts on the generative phase. Using a completely randomized design(CRD) with five treatment sand five replications, treatments were:0 ppm GA3, 20 ppm, 40 ppm 60 ppm and 80 ppm GA3. GA3. The observations made are: when the first flowers appear, the numberof flowers, number of fruits, fruit weight planting. The data were analyzed by ANOVA 1 factor, if F major hit f Table continued with DNMRT test at level 5%. From the results showed that administration of GA3 significantly affect the number of flowers and number of pods, but did not significantly affect the time the first flowers appear and the weight of planting pods. It can be concluded that the administration of GA3 increase the numberof flowers and number of pods on the plant peanuts Keywords: gibberellic acid(GA3), peanuts (Arachis hypogea. L)

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Tahun 2015 diperkirakan jumlah wanita usia menopause di Indonesia  mencapai lebih kurang 24 juta orang. Lebih kurang 35% osteoporosis dan 50% osteopenia. Osteoporosis  merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang belakangan menjadi masalah di Indonesia sebagai efek peningkatan usia harapan hidup. Osteopororosis menurut WHO adalah penyakit metabolisme tulang dengan ciri  pengurangan kepadatan  tulang (T score < -2,5) yang mengarah pada terjadinya fragilitas tulang sehingga meningkatkan risiko patah tulang Metabolisme  tulang melibatkan banyak faktor, namun demikian  estrogen merupakan salah satu faktor yang cukup potensial  terhadap  pengaturan  kepadatan tulang  pada perempuan demikian juga pada laki-laki, namun demikian mekanisme peran estrogen dalam memempengaruhi kepadatan tulang belum banayak diungkap. Kajian ilmiah ini bertujuan  untuk mengungkap kejelasan mekanisme aksi biologi estrogen/fitoestrogen  pada metabolisme tulang dalam mempengaruhi kepadatan tulang atas dasar pendekatan biologi molekuler. Hasil kajian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi informasi  tentang bagaimana peran estrogen/fitoestrogen dalam mempengaruhi kepadatan tulang pada umumnya dan menjadi tambahan wawasan untuk  menyiapkan bahan ajar  Endokrin  untuk sekolah menengah maupun perguruan tinggi.   Kata kunci: Estrogen, metabolism tulang, kepadatan tulang, osteoporosis

Abstract

Successful tissue culture of soursop plants requires proper sterilization techniques and hormone levels toproduce good shoot growth. This study aims to determine the effect of sterilization techniques and mediumcomposition of soursop explants, using factorial completely randomized design with 2 factors: sterilizing agentsand medium composition, repeated 3 times. Hydrogen Peroxide, Mercury and Sodium Hypoclorite used assterilizing agents. The medium composition used in this study consisted of 3 levels: MS 0, MS 0.5 ppm BAP+ 0.05 ppm NAA and MS 1 ppm BAP + 0.1 ppm NAA. The best treatment is MS medium 0.5 ppm BAP + 0.05ppm NAA with hydrogen peroxide sterilizing agent which produces the highest propagation level and lowestcontamination level.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know: (1) the creative thinking ability of male and female students at Surakarta State Senior High School; and (2) the difference of creative thinking ability between male and female students at Surakarta State Senior High School. This research uses ex post facto method. The sampling technique uses stratified proportional random sampling. The sample of the study was 36 students, consisting of 18 male students and 18 female students in a Surakarta State Senior High School. The students' creative thinking ability is measured using an essay test developed by Ulfah in 2016. Indicators of creative thinking ability measured include the ability to think fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive and independent t test, calculation using SPSS vers. 21 with a significance level of 0,05. The results showed the average percentage of students' creative thinking ability of 55.21% in sufficient category. The findings of each indicator are as follows: flexibility of 77.08% in the creative category; originality 35.42% in less creative categories; fluency 72.92% in the creative category; and elaboration 35.92% in less creative categories. Different test results of creative thinking ability between male and female students showed no significant difference.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini dususn dengan pijakan rendahnya nilai UAN dan resahnya guru mengahdapi UAN serta rendanya taraf berpikir kritis siswa pada bidang IPA. Jika proses pembelajaran biologi khususnya dan sain pada umunya dikelola dengan baik, maka akan diperoleh hasil belajar yang baik. Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran ditentukan oleh banyak faktor, salah satu di antaranya partisipasi aktif siswa, seperti menyampaikan ide, mengajukan pertanyaan, dan menjawab pertanyaan. Kesempatan partisipasi sulit diperoleh setiap siswa jika pembelajaran diselenggarakn secara klasikal. Siswa yang mempunyai keberanian dan pandai dalam mengemukakan pendapat selalu aktif mendominasi kelas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang memberi kesempatan kepada seluruh siswa agar berpartisipasi. Salah satu cara yang dapat meningkatkan partisipasi seluruh siswa adalah membentuk siswa dalam kelompok koperatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyusun perangkat pembelajaran biologi berbasis pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, NHT, dan TPS dan mengetahui kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran yang telah disusun Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan mengikuti tahap-tahap Four D Models yang terdiri atas Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate.  Namun, pada tahap Disseminate belum dilakukan. Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dengan menggunakan tipe pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD , NHT, dan TPS masing-masing dikembangkan empat RPP sesuai jumlah materi sehingga jumlah keseluruhan 12 RPP.  Buku Siswa sebanyak empat materi yaitu Ekosistem, Daur Biogeokomia, Pencemaran Lingkungan, dan Pelestarian Lingkungan. Lembar Kerja Siswa  sebanyak 3 tipe kooperatif  yaitu STAD, NHT, dan TPS masing-masing terdiri dari 5 LKS sesuai materi yang ada dan LKS sesuai setiap model pembelajaran kooperatif. Jadi jumlah keseluruhan 15 LKS. Lembar Tes Hasil Belajar dan Kunci yang tertulis dalam bentuk kisi-kisi lembar penilaian. Berhasil dikembangkan 18 soal yang berbasis berpikir kritis. Pada dasarnya perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mengacu pada standar  BSNP. Hasil pengembangan perangkat berkategori sangat baik dengan kata lain perangkat yang disusun peneliti yang terdiri dari RPP, buku siswa, dan LKS  serta tes hasil belajar layak untuk diujicobakan. Hasil validasi RPP memperoleh  3,88 berkategori sangat baik , buku siswa memperoleh nilai  3,5 berkategori sangat baik , dan LKS memperoleh nilai 3,66 berkategori sangat baik, dan yang terakhir tes hasil belajar validasinya juga berkategori sangat baik.   Kata kunci : perangkat pembelajaran, kooperatif, berpikir kritis
