Abstract

This study aimed to know effectiveness of the use of molecular biology module based on learning cycle 7E to empower the thinking ability (cognitive) of biology education students. The study type was quasi experiment with one group pretest postes design, using one class that was experiment (implementation of module). The experimental class was treated with pretest and postes. Data obtained were data of students' thinking ability and data source obtained from biology student of Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo University. The data was analyzed by inferential statistics. Measurement of students' thinking ability before and after the implementation of module was calculated with N-Gain. The data of thinking ability was also analyzed using t test paired sample, preceded by homogeneity and normality test. The result of this study showed that the improvement of thinking ability from pretest and posttest score after N-Gain tested, the students got N-Gain score 0.75-1 as many as 7 people with high category, N-Gain score 0.31-0,70 as many as 11 people was categorized moderate and N-Gain score from 0.07-0.10 as many as 4 people with low category.  Pretest and postes score of students' thinking ability then tested of homogeneity and normality showed that the data was normall and homogeneous so that it continued with t paired sample test. T test Paired sample obtained Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailled) below 0.05 0.000, it can be concluded that there were significant differences between prestes and postes students' thinking ability. It shows that the use of molecular biology module based on learning cycle 7e effectively empower the thinking ability of biology students.

Abstract

Abad 21 merupakan abad pengetahuan yang ditandai dengan kemajuan teknologi dan aplikasinya di semua bidang kehidupan. Makna lain era pengetahuan adalah pemanfaatan otak manusia sebagai sumber daya yang mulai dioptimalkan dalam semua sisi kehidupan, termasuk dalam hal pendidikan.  Pemanfaatan otak manusia sebagai sumber daya dalam persaingan global menjadi tantangan yang lebih berat dalam dunia pendidikan karena munculnya berbagai inovasi intelektual, sementara pendidikan yang merupakan bagian tatanan masyarakat dalam suatu negara seringkali menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari politik, kebijakan, tujuan serta semua elemen kekuatan dalam bernegara, tidak terkecuali dengan Indonesia sehingga makna demokrasi dan otonomi dalam pendidikan seringkali menjadi sulit untuk diartikan yang semestinya

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in interest and student learning outcomes in science teaching in primary schools. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisted of two meetings with the various forms of energy and material use. Research subjects elementary school students grade IV No 20 Gunung Pangilun Padang Utara. The instrument of this study is the observation sheet student's interests, learning activities observation sheets, and achievement test students' interest in learning the instrument. The results showed that students' interest in learning science in one cycle is 64.4 percent, and in the second cycle of 82.2 percent. Student learning outcomes in a single cycle on average 63.5 and 83.5 in the two cycle becomes. Besides that, it also revealed that an increasing mastery learning students from one cycle is 45.8 percent and in the second cycle of 91.6 percent. Analysis of teachers in implementing learning activities in a cycle that is 79.1 per cent and 91.6 per cent of the second cycle. The use of models in the media can increase interest in science learning, learning outcomes and teacher activities . Therefore, the model can be used medium primary school teachers as one of the media in learning science . Besides, teachers also need to make a good plan in accordance with the science curriculum in elementary schools . Keywords : Interest and learning outcomes, media models, learning science

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman arthropoda dan peran biologinya pada tanah sawah irigasi dan tegalan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di daerah persawahan di daerah Sragen pada bulan Maret – Mei 2016. Metode Penelitian dengan menggunakan pitfall trap atau perangkap jebakan yang diletakkan area persawahan dan tegalan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel arthropoda yang diperoleh diidentifikasi dan dianalisis di Laboratorium pendidikan Biologi. Hasil yang diperolah dari penelitian ini adalah diperoleh 8 ordo arthrophoda yaitu diptera, aranae, coleoptera, hemyptera, hymenoptera, orthoptera, lepidoptera, dan dermaptera.  Sawah irigasi memeiliki keragaman arthrophoda yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tegalan. Secara garis besar ada empat peran biologi dari jenis arthrophoda yang ada, yaitu predator, herbivore, fitofagus dan pollinator.

Abstract

The study program of Biology education in Unitri (University of Tribhuwana Tunggadewi, Malang) is a new study program, which has been operated for 1 year. Biology education has a vision that is a pioneer of biological educators who are based on cultured scientific as well as a center for the development of biology learning formed on multicultural and populist. To become a biology educator in accordance with the vision, the students are expected to understand the behavior or learning style to avoid the stress of learning that affects the continuity of the lecture. Students of Unitri who are mostly from Eastern Indonesia tend to be more vulnerable from learning stress since they have to adapt to different environments. Therefore, a research about student learning style analysis and its influence to learning result is conducted. De Porter and Hernacki divide learning styles into three types: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Based on the results of the learning style questionnaire given to 47 new students of biology education, 17% of students have visual learning style, 34% is auditory, and 49% is kinesthetic. To determine the effect on learning outcomes, the eta correlation test with significance value of learning result (score from the midterm test of cell biology course) is 0.086 bigger than α (0.05) which means there is no significant relationship between learning style of area with the score from the midterm test of cell biology course. This insignificant relationship can be influenced because students are new students who have not realized and understood their learning style. Hence, that special treatment is needed such as the existence of teaching materials or learning media that accommodate the learning style in order tp obtain significant results on the learning outcomes.

Abstract

In addition to agriculture, tourism became one of primary economic income for communities around MountCiremai, West, Java. Unfortunately, the landscape of West Java has many potential causes to disasters, mainlylandslides. Mapping of disaster susceptibility area is needed as a consideration of tourism planning. The studywas conducted in Gunung Ciremai National Park, Kuningan. Using Geographic Information System tools, fiveenvironmental parameters i.e: slope, land use, elevation, rainfall and lithology, spatially used to build alandslide susceptibility map by weighted-overlay methods. Then, susceptibility map is overlaid with the  TNGCareas. The result is a TNGC area with each susceptibility class.

Abstract

Abstract- The objectives of this research are (1) to know abiotic component in Nusakambangan Island, (2) to know preferency of  habitat inclination Lepidoptera in Nusakambangan Island (3) to know the diversity of Lepidoptera in Nusakambangan Island.This is descriptive qualitative research. Method that used in this reseacrh consist of several stages; (1) determine observation location,(2) gathering data of abiotic and veegetation habitat of Lepidoptera, (3) gathering data of Lepidoptera composition. The result show that faound 52 species from 3 family, there are Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, 1 superfamiliy Hesperidae dan 1 subfamily Polyommatinae. There are 22 unidentified butterflies until species level. Habitat preference are influenced by many factors. The factors are abiotic and biotic factor. Abiotic factors include humidity, light intensity, and air temperature. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini sebagai langkah awal untuk meneliti peran cacing tanah terhadap hara N dan C didaerah berkapur. Penelitian dilakukan pada musim penghujan dilahan berbagai system budidaya tanaman yang meliputi 13 SPL tanaman: (1) jati, (2) mahoni, (3) sengon, (4) akasia, (5) jati, akasia, (6) jati, jambumete, (7) mahoni, ketela pohon, (8)tebu, (9) kacang tanah, (10) jagung, (11) sawah irigasi, (12) sawah tadah hujan dan (13) lahan terlantar/semak. Lokasi penelitian pada lahan tanah berkapur dengan kemiringan 0- 15 %., Sampel cacing tanah diambil secara manual dengan menggunakan metode monolit (25 x 25 x 30 cm3). Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan mengenai eksistensi cacing tanah ditinjau dari kepadatan dan biomasa cacing tanah pada lingkungan berbagai system budidaya tanaman dilahan berkapur. Kepadatan populasi cacing tanah yang tertinggi adalah 176 individu/m2 pada budidaya tanaman Kacang Tanah. Sedang kepadatan populasi cacing tanah terendah dari 13 SPL didapatkan pada budidaya tanaman Sengon yaitu 16 individu/ m2. Untuk biomasa tertinggi ada pada budidaya tanaman Akasia yaitu 112,32 gram/m2 dan yang terendah ada pada polikultur jati-akasia 4,64 gram/m2. Kesimpulan yang didapat pada hasil penelitian adalah: (1) ada perbedaan eksistensi cacing tanah pada berbagai sistem budidaya tanaman di lahan berkapur ditinjau dari kepadatan dan biomasa. (2) Perbedaan eksistensi cacing tanah pada berbagai system budidaya tanaman dilahan berkapur disebabkan oleh perbedaan iklim mikro dan kualitas seresah Kata kunci : Eksistensi cacng tanah, system budidaya tanaman

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektifitas dua jenis koagulan tawas dan biji kelor terhadap limbah usaha jasa cuci pakaian dalam menjernihkan air serta untuk mengetahui korelasi efektivitas koagulan dengan kandungan BOD air. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan perlakuan yaitu tawas dan biji kelor sejumlah 0,05 g; 0,1 g; 0,15 g. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas tertinggi dan terendah pada tawas masing-masing adalah  88% dan 58,6% pada konsentrasi 0,15 g dan 0,05 g,  sedangkan pada kelor efektivitas tertinggi dan terendah adalah 82,9% dan 77,9 % pada konsentrasi 0,15 g dan 0,05 g. Semakin efektif kerja koagulan yang digunakan maka semakin rendah BOD yang terdapat pada air limbah jasa cuci pakaian, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai korelasi endapan kelor = 0,871.  Kata kunci : Biji Kelor, Tawas, BOD, Kejernihan, Limbah Jasa Cuci Pakaian

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kualitas air di tiga sumber mata air, yakni Sumber Jiput, Sumber Cakarsi, Sumber Ngrempi, yang berada di Kota Kediri. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April-Mei  2013. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei, penentuan area dan titik sampling menggunakan metode purposive  random sampling berdasarkan titik keluarnya air dan aliran sumber mata air. Pengambilan  sampel dilakukan pada setiap plot yang telah ditentukan dan menggunakan rangka jaring berukuran pori 1 mm dengan 15 kali ulangan pada setiap plot pengambilan sampel. Sampel yang diperoleh kemudian diidentifikasi menggunakan buku  panduan penilaian   kesehatan sungai melalui pemeriksaan habitat sungai dan BIOTILIK (Daru, 2011). Berdasarkan nilai Family Biotic Index (FBI) Makrozoobentos untuk sumber Jiput, sumber Cakarsi, dan sumber Ngrempi berdasarkan kualitas airnya diklasifikasikan ke dalam kualitas air yang tercemar. Nilai Family Biotic Index (FBI) dari ke tiga sumber tersebut yaitu, 6.42, 6.69, dan 6.37. Keberadaan jenis makrozoobentos EPT (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera dan Trichoptera) yang sangat sedikit juga mengindikasikan bahwa ke tiga sumber tersebut tercemar.
