Abstract

Biology lesson demands in the national curriculum are expected to be able to think critically. In addition, other aspects that must be considered in the learning of the cognitive style of students. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research that aims to describe the critical thinking ability of cognitive and implusive cognitive-style students in Biology learning through Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Puzzle media. The subjects of this study consisted of 24 students of class VII G SMP Negeri 2 Tuban consisting of 12 students reflective cognitive style and 12 students cognitive style implusif. Data collection techniques in this research are Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) developed by warli (2010) to find out students 'cognitive style and students' critical thinking test that refer to Ennis (1985) indicator. Further data on students' critical thinking ability with reflective and implusive cognitive style were analyzed using non parametric statistic using Mean Withney test. Based on the results of data analysis shows there are differences in the way students think critically between the cognitive-style reflective and implusive. Cognitive-style students are reflective in critical thinking higher than students with cognitive-style impulses. So it can be concluded that students with cognitive-style reflective critical thinking skills are better than cognitive-style students are implusive in Biology lesson through Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model using Media Puzzle.

Abstract

Mekanisme kerja otak memberikan kedudukan penting dalam memahami perubahan tingkah laku belajar yang dilakukan seseorang. Hal inilah yang melatarbelakangi tujuan penulisan makalah untuk mendeskripsikan kajian neurosains dalam perkembangan pembelajaran Biologi abad 21. Perkembangan teknologi yang digunakan untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran dapat dikaitkan dengan adanya konsep neurosains. Neurosains merupakan bidang kajian sistem saraf otak manusia yang berhubungan dengan kesadaran dan kepekaan otak dari segi biologi, persepsi, ingatan, dan pembelajaran. Proses pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi ini tidak selamanya mengesampingkan peran guru dalam pembelajaran tatap muka di kelas, melainkan diselaraskan dengan adanya pembelajaran tatap muka, dan inilah yang dinamakan blended learning.  Blended learning merupakan upaya mengkombinasikan pembelajaran berbasis internet (e-learning) dengan pembelajaran tatap muka (face to face). Pembelajaran tatap muka ini penting untuk mengaktifkan daerah-daerah penting dalam otak. Pembelajaran berdasarkan internet sangat dipengaruhi oleh teori belajar kognitif model pemrosesan informasi yang diawali dari masuknya informasi ke sistem memori, memori jangka pendek, dan sampai ke memori jangka panjang. Berdasarkan tujuan utama pembelajaran Biologi dalam meningkatkan keyakinan terhadap kebesaran Tuhan Yang Maha Esa berdasarkan keberadaan, keindahan, dan keteraturan alam ciptaan-Nya sangat berkaitan erat dengan kajian neurosains. Kajian neurosains memberikan pengetahuan tambahan tentang fungsi vital otak sebagai pendukung keberhasilan kegiatan pembelajaran, yang meningkatkan rasa bersyukur atas segala karunia Allah SWT. Kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan bukan hanya sekedar transfer ilmu dari guru ke siswa, melainkan dalam perjalanannya melibatkan adanya  impuls sebagai akibat adanya stimulus dalam lingkungan belajar. Saran yang dapat dilakukan sebagai seorang pendidik ialah selalu berupaya untuk menghadirkan lingkungan belajar yang mampu merangsang perkembangan otak siswa. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengaktifkan dendrit-dendrit untuk bercabang secara kompak, sehingga akan lebih mudah dalam menerima dan meneruskan informasi yang dapat siswa terapkan dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari. Abstract

Media in learning, one of them is LKS. The LKS should contain a summary of material contains to improve students understanding, but in reality LKS of IPA materials currently used is not sufficient to improve students understanding. The result observation at SMP Muhammadiyah 13 Kalen Lamongan indicates that LKS used has many deficiencies, that is not presented in contextual, difficult language to understand, unattractive images and lack of explantion of difficult word meaning especially climate change material. This resulted in low students learningmotivation and impact of decreased learning outcomes. Efforts to cope with the development of LKS. This research is aimed to develop LKS based contextual with glossary of climate change material to improve students to be valid, practical, and effective. This research is a research development with R & D method (Research and Development), and use model development of ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The result of LKS development showed valid 79,89%, practicality 70% with practical criteria, 93,3% completeness of study result with very high criteria, student response result gets percentage average 98,5% with criterion very effective, and N-gain analysis result is 0.5 with medium criterion. In conclusion, the development of LKS is considerad feasible to be used as a learning media for students.

Abstract

The research aims to increase the ability to find and connect concepts through implementation of instructions in hypothesis generation phase of discovery learning. This research is classroom action research that carried out for 2 cycles. Subjects are 28 students of high school students. The procedure of research consists: planning, observation, action, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, tests, documentation, and interviews. Validity of the data is performed using triangulation method. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and inference with the qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed the ability to find and connect a concept based on score of concept map in the pre cycle is range 2.84% - 5.41%. The average score of concept map in pre cycle is 3.46% with 12 students above average. The cycle I identified a score of concept map is range 5.8%-35.8%. The average score of concept map in the cycle I is 13.87% with 9 students above average. The cycle II identified a score of concept map is range 3.4% score-44.4%. The average score of concept map in cycle II is 18.3% with 16 students above the average, thus the ability to find and connect a concept based on range and an average score of concept map learners increased from pre cycle to cycle II, although the number of learners who is increasing is fluctuative.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang Analisis Vegetasi Tumbuhan Invasif di Kawasan Cagar Alam Lembah Anai bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi dan struktur tumbuhan invasif di kawasan Cagar Alam Lembah Anai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai bulan Juni 2016 di Cagar Alam Lembah Anai, Herbarium ANDA dan Laboratorium Ekologi Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Andalas Padang. Metoda yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metoda kuadrat dengan peletakan plot secara purposive sampling sebanyak 25 plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi tumbuhan invasif terdiri dari 12 famili, 19 spesies, dan 337 individu dengan Indeks Nilai Penting tertinggi terdapat pada spesies Arenga obtusifolia yaitu 27,36 % dan yang paling sedikit adalah spesies Rubus moluccanus yaitu 1,55%. Indeks keanekaragaman tumbuhan invasif tergolong sedang yaitu (H’ = 2,80).Keywords:        Analisis Vegetasi, Tumbuhan Invasif, Cagar Alam Lembah Anai.

Abstract

Professional development of teachers is ideally continuous implemented and is known by Continuous Proffesional Development (CPD). CPD is a renewal conscious knowledge and improving the competence of teachers throughout his working life. This study is a descriptive study that aims to depict of the kinds of professional development and the conception of the Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) on junior high science teacher in Surakarta. The subjects were science teachers of junior high school of Surakarta both public and private schools with a sample of 10 teachers. This survey study conducted in June 2016 using an open questionnaire instrument. Analysis of data used qualitative data analysis type of Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study concluded that the types of professional development carried out by the science teachers Surakarta includes activities Subject Teachers Council, education and training, workshops, and technical guidance. The study also revealed there has been no increase in professionalism is done by directly observing in the classroom is done in a sustainable manner. While Lesson Study is understood by science teachers with various understanding some of which has led to the understanding of LS as the collective activities of teachers. Abstract

This study aims to describe the reproductive organs and spermatozoa of local rabbits and New Zealand rabbits. This type of research is descriptive. The study was conducted at the Integrated Laboratory for maintenance and Biology Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang for observing images of reproductive organs and spermatozoa. The study was conducted from April to June 2019. 3-month-old rabbits were obtained from farmers in the East Java city of Batu. The results showed that the overall weight of the reproductive organs of New Zealand male rabbits was 3.7 grams, the right testicular weight was 0.82 grams, the left testis was 0.78 grams, penile weight was 1.4 grams, 0.7 grams was heavy from the epididymic ducts and vases efferen. The length of the right testis is 1.2 cm, the length of the left testis is 1.1 cm, the penis length is 1.4 cm, the length of the right vas deferens is 6.8 cm, and the left vas deferens is 6.6 cm. In local rabbits the overall weight of the reproductive organs is 2.25 grams, the weight of the right testis is 0.51 grams, the left testis is 0.48 grams, the penis weight is 0.86 grams, 0.4 grams is the weight of the epididymic duct and the efferent vas. The length of the right testis is 0.6 cm, the left testis is 0.5 cm, the penis length is 1.2 cm, the length of the right vas deferens is 4.6 cm, the length of the left vas deferens is 4.4 cm. Spermatozoa cells are clearly visible in the head and tail, but the observation of the number of New Zealand spermatozoa cells is larger and relatively larger than the local rabbit spermatozoa.

Abstract

Tarenna merupakan kerabat dekat dari  Ixora atau soka yang keberadaannya  belum dikenal masyarakat luas karena marga ini hanya dijumpai di hutan. Selain itu  Tarenna  tidak memiliki variasi warna bunga  yang menarik seperti   Ixora. Keanekaragaman  jenis Tarenna tidak dikenal  di Indonesia, hanya masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar hutan seperti masyarakat pulau Sumatra yang mengenal  Tarenna  dengan nama seperti kayu tabu (Lampung) kepala tupai dan pelaju (Riau), jalung (Jambi), kayu urat dan melinjung (Palembang) dan masih banyak lagi. Berpijak dari hal tersebut, penelitian ini mencoba mengenalkan Tarenna melalui mendeskripsikan hubungan kekerabatan fenetik 13 jenis Tarenna  (T. adpressa. T. bancana, T. confusa, T. constata, T. dasyphylla, T. fragrans. T. incerta, T. kobusii, T. longiflora, T macroptera, T. mollis, T. sumatrana, T. winkleri)  di Sumatera.  Penelitian ini menggunakan spesimen herbarium yang telah dikoleksi dari berbagai daerah di Sumatera yang tersimpan di Herbarium Bogoriense. Setelah spesimen dideskripsikan secara morfologi dengan menggunakan program clad97, akan dihasilkan fenogram yang digunakan  mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan fenetik deskripsi 13 jenis dengan indeks similaritas. Penelitian ini meggunakan 45 karakter morfologi.  Hasil fenogram tersebut yaitu terdapat dua kelompok besar. Kelompok pertama yang terdiri  T. adpressa. T. confusa, T. constata, T. dasyphylla, T. fragrans. T. incerta, T. kobusii, T. longiflora, T macroptera, T. mollis, T. sumatrana, T. winkleri mempunyai indeks similaritas   dengan T. bancana  sebesar 0, 58 dan ini merupakan indeks terkecil, sedangkan similaritas  tertinggi  (0,87) antara T. fragrans  dengan T. confusa.   Kata kunci: Hubungan Kekerabatan, Fenetik, Tarenna, Sumatera, Program Clad97

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine influence of implementation of Augmented Reality ECO-AR 1-3 media based on Discovery Learning model to improve ecological concept. This research is included in ex post facto research with quantitative approach. The subjects of the study were students of class X MIPA 2 and XI MIPA 7 each class consist of 35 students. Research sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The research design used post-group design. Data obtained from NEP and posttest questionnaire. Data collection used tests, documentation, observation, and questionnaires. The research procedure includes preparation, execution, data processing and completion. Validity test and instrument reliability test using Alpha Cronbach formula with counted by SPSS 21 program. Data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test, and non-paired samples T test with 5% significance level. Augmented Reality ECO-AR 1-3 media based on Discovery Learning using non-paired sample t-test has significance result on knowledge and attitude aspect less than 0,05 so that H0 is rejected. H0 rejected indicate difference of effectiveness between environmental literacy result from class XI MIPA 7 subject with class X MIPA 2. The result of research shows that there is an increase in anti-anthropocentrism aspect and the highest result in aspect of limit to growth.
