Abstract

Yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) dimanfaatkan sebagai obat tradisional untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah. Tanaman ini juga memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmenguji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun S. sonchifolius terhadap pertumbuhan E. coli FNCC 0091 dan S. aureus FNCC 0047, serta untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak daun S. sonchifolius yang optimal dalam menghambat pertumbuhan E. coli FNCC 0091 dan S. aureus FNCC 0047.Pada penelitian ini, pembuatan ekstrak daun S. sonchifolius dengan metode maserasi dilanjutkan dengan ekstraksi menggunakan rotary evaporator, sedangkan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode disc diffusion. Konsentrasi ekstrak S. sonchifolius yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100%. Aktivitas antibakteri diukur berdasarkan diameter zona hambat (clear zone) yang terbentuk di sekitar paper disc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun S. sonchifolius dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E. coli FNCC 0091 dan S. aureus FNCC 0047. Konsentrasi yang paling optimal dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E. coli FNCC 0091 dan S. aureus FNCC 0047 adalah konsentrasi 100% dengan nilai rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 9,87 ± 2,86(mm) dan 11,75 ± 4,34(mm). Semakin tinggikonsentrasi daun S. sonchifolius, maka semakin besar zona hambat yang terbentuk.

Abstract

Abstract- Tofu rice bran is one form of diversification tofu when not socialized . Tofu as a source of vegetable protein so the impact  of  tofu as a food product that can not be stored longer that required the use of a natural preservative solution that is safe and without any residue . Deacetylation of chitin chitosan as a result polycationic nature so as to reduce the rate of growth of pathogenic bacteria . Potential of Lactic Acid Bacteria ( LAB ) as a producer of lactic acid is expected to act as a natural biocoagulant . The purpose of the study was to determine the potential of chitosan as a natural preservative and potential of LAB as natural biocoagulant  in the manufacturing process tofu  rice bran. The research method are three stages: the first stage includes : BAL isolation and cultivation of industrial products fementasi yoghurt ; the second stage includes the study of the amount of inoculum BAL ( 5 % , 10 % , 20 % ) as biocoagulant ; study the concentration of chitosan ( 0.5 % , 1 % , 2 % ) as a natural preservative and the mixtures of rice bran and soy whey ( ratio 1 : 1 , 2 : 1 , 3 : 2 ) in the process of making tofu rice bran ; The third stage involves analysis of  product tofu rice bran for fat content , protein content , fiber content and microbial contamination include MPN Coliform , Salmonella and organoleptic Hedonic test the level of preference ( color , smell , consistency , flavor ) by panelists . The results showed that tofu rice bran with 10 %  inoculum biocoagulant , concentration of chitosan 2 % as a preservative and ratio of rice bran and whey ( 2:1 ) showed  the most excellent organoleptic . Keywords : Lactic Acid Bacteria ( LAB ) , biocoagulan t, chitosan , natural preservative , tofu rice bran

Abstract

The objectives of this research was (1) to know effectiveness of the use of vertical systematic practice module to improve the learning outcomes of vertebrate systematic practice. This research was a quantitative description of research conducted in Biology Education Department of FKIP UMS. The population in this research was all students of Biology Education who took practice of Vertebrate Systematics in the academic year of 2016/2017. The sample used in this research was the students of Biology Education semester VI class B who took the practice of Vertebrata Systematics in the academic year of 2016/2017. Data analysis techniques in this study used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis used non parametric statistic with Wilcoxon test. After the data were tested with non parametric statistic then tested its effectiveness to know the improvement of student learning result using normalized gain score technique. The results of this study indicated that the module practice vertebrate systematic classis amphibia ˝Effective˝ used as teaching materials, module effectiveness was based on the results of N-gain calculation in terms of the increase of cognitive test results of 0.43 are categorized ˝moderate˝.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of coffee beans shell extract as vegetable pesticides seen by the capability of pressing food activity and increasing caterpillar mortality to mustard greens. This research took place in the Biology Education Laboratory University of Sebelas Maret from May until July 2021. This research using an experimental method and Completely Randomized Design with two steps of tests there are preliminary test and primary test. The Preliminary test is a toxicity test to find out LC50 that is 15%, for the next is used to determine primary test concentration. There are five treatments of mortality test and food activity test that is an increment of coffee beans shell extract with the concentrations 0% (P1), 10% (P2), 15% (P3), 20% (P4), and 25% (P5) with five repetitions of a caterpillar. Toxicity test data were analyzed by probit analysis. Mortality test data is analyzed with regression linear and food activity test is analyzed by one-way Anova at significance level 5%, and continued with Tukey test. The research result is coffee beans shell extract has a significant effect on caterpillar mortality, with the higher mortality is P4 treatment that is 1005. The extract is also has a significant effect on food activity with the lower food activity at P5 treatment that is 8%.

Abstract

Learning media in the form of books or prints are increasingly being marginalized by more modern and sophisticated learning media. Therefore, it is important to compile an encyclopedia that is packaged practically. The high biodiversity in Indonesia can support the preparation of an encyclopedia. The purpose of compiling this encyclopedia is to find out the diversity of local birds. The preparation of the encyclopedia begins with analyzing the encyclopedia, designing the encyclopedia, and validating the encyclopedia. The results of the encyclopedia validation show that it is feasible to use with a material percentage of 75% and 91.67% media.

Abstract

This development research aims to evaluate the validity of Biology worksheets on thinking Critical for Class VIII Junior High School Students. LKPD biology is the result of the development of the concepts of systems in the human body, namely 1) the movement system, 2) the digestive system, and 3) the circulatory system. Research development using the Tessmer Model. The research is focused on the first micro cycle, which is about validity. The research was carried out for six months (July-December 2021) at Hasbunallah Middle School, Tabalong Regency. The research subjects to carry out content validity were three lecturers of the ULM science teacher master's degree. Aspects that are validated are the appropriateness of content, language, presentation and graphics. The data obtained from the research instrument in the form of a validity assessment sheet. Data analysis was done descriptively. The results showed that the validity based on the results of the expert team's validation had an average score of 75.00% with a fairly valid category, which could be used with slight revisions. LKPD can already be used in biology learning at school after revision, and is eligible to continue on individual tests.

Abstract

Sumber Village which is located in Dukun District, Magelang Regency is one of the villages that has the potential for educational tourism that can be developed. The existence of people who make a living as cobek stone craftsmen, pothil food producers, farmers, and breeders can be used as a place to learn new things. However, this educational tour still needs to be promoted online so that it is known to many people. Therefore, the service activities carried out are marketing of educational tourism based on the potential of natural resources through social media. The purpose of these activities is to promote educational tourism and the potential of the village to the general public. The method used is coordination with the Sumber Village apparatus, conducting surveys, interviews, taking photos, creating social media accounts, uploading content, providing direction and assistance to tourism managers. The results of this activity are the existence of social media accounts for educational tourism in Sumber Village and Cobek SMEs, as well as the understanding of tourism managers in using social media for promotion.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the community in Songbledeg Village about the new variant of covid-19 and the importance of vaccination. This socialization activity is carried out offline by applying health protocols, so that the people present are only representatives of each hamlet only. The people who attended were very participating in a series of socialization events and actively asked questions to the speaker. This socialization activity is useful for the community so that it is more understanding about the prevention of transmission and handling new variants of covid-19. In addition, the public becomes more aware of the importance of Covid-19 vaccination to increase immunity to the Covid-19 virus. Socialization activities that have been carried out by the KKN team have increased the knowledge of the people of Songbledeg Village about the new variant of Covid-19 and how to prevent it, and has increased public knowledge about the importance of Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

Online learning to anticipate the Covid-19 pandemic directly or indirectly has presented a new order in the learning aspect. One of the Learning Management System (LMS) technologies used at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is the Sistem Pembelajaran Daring (SPADA). Several features in SPADA have been developed to help students learn independently or guided, including summary, assignment, grade, URL and activity completion. Lecturers continue to try to anticipate problems in optimizing these features. These efforts continue to experience changes and developments because the self regulated learning that is passed by each student is not the same. This is influenced by a series of brain mechanisms in processing information or known as neuroscience. Student activities related to independent learning do not only involve cognition from a series of information processing, but a series of self-knowledge information that is included in the study of abilities and metacognitive skills. In this regard, the independence of learning in this study is explained in terms of cognitive, motivational and behavioral aspects using a questionnaire instrument and interview guidelines for 32 students in the Department of Natural Sciences Education Semester V of 2020. Based on the results and discussion, it is known that the difficulty in realizing learning independence because students do not know for sure the goals to be achieved, so it is difficult to determine various strategies for achieving them. The problem of self regulated learning encourages LMS optimization steps with SPADA features based on neuroscience studies. The first thing to do is to give students the freedom to learn according to their inclinations, so the suggestion that can be conveyed is that the lecturer should know the learning style of each student before using the LMS through the SPADA feature in developing student learning independence.

Abstract

Currently, environmental-based approaches are being encouraged, especially for entrepreneurial activities. Ecopreneurship is one of the efforts to carry out entrepreneurial activities that are concerned with environmental aspects, and not only concerned with profit. This ecopreneurship potential can be explored using photovoice, which is a learning medium through photographic techniques that have visual messages and narratives for the effectiveness of the meaning of the photo. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of Generation Z Ecopreneurship through a photovoice approach. This study uses a photovoice-based community-based design (FGD), which was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021 in Canggu, North Kuta, with a generation Z community of 8 high school students. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews, WhatsApp, recorder and logbook, then the data was analyzed by using descriptive. The results of this study showed that in FGD 1 the themes were dominated by ecology, economy, efficiency and effectiveness, while in FGD 2 the themes that emerged were ecology, economy, efficiency and social. This shows that there is a change in the perception of the emergence of ecological and social themes from FGD 1 to FGD 2, which means that the community's perspective has been more open after planting the concept related to Ecopreneurship. So it can be concluded that photovoice can be used to explore the potential of Generation Z Ecopreneurship.
