Abstract

Nasopharyngeal cancer patients with stage I – IV will cause painful symptoms such as signs of swelling due to the growth of abnormal tissue in the nasopharynx. Symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer can interfere with daily activities, the fulfillment of daily needs, and the need for rest. The dependence of nasopharyngeal cancer patients with stage I – IV is very minimal to carry out daily activities both physically, psychologically, socially, and in control of disease or symptoms related to treatment and care. This study aims to explore in-depth the meaning of the experience of a partner with nasopharyngeal cancer as a caregiver at home. This research is a descriptive phenomenological study. Data was collected by depth interviews and field notes. The participants in this study were 10 people who were selected by the purposive sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using the Colaizzi approach. The results of the research analysis found 3 themes, namely helping patients in meeting basic needs, impact on caregivers, and wisdom for caregivers. In general, caregivers feel neglected, lack information on how to care for their partner with nasopharyngeal cancer and the use of health care facilities. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that couples should be more informed about the disease of partners who have nasopharyngeal cancer in the form of health education.

Abstract

Headaches are one of the most common nervous system disorders with a major impact on public health. They can be caused by various etiologies, and some of them are symptoms of serious pathology. The location and intensity of the headache are related to the etiology of the headache. In some cases, headaches can be accompanied by pain due to myofascial trigger points (MTrPs), which are small hyper-irritating spots located centrally within bands that have been injured or overworked. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs) Pain and the Type, Location, and Intensity of Headaches. This type of research is analytic observational with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected in October and December of 2014, and a sample of 50 people was drawn using a consecutive sampling technique.Data were gathered through neurologists' history-taking and physical examinations, as well as interviews using a numerical pain scale (NPS), and then analyzed using Fisher and Mann Whitney. The results showed that MTrPs were positive for M. sternocleidomastoid in 38 people, M. trapezius in 36 people, M. temporalis in 31 people, M. masseter superficialis in 20 people, M. suboccipital in 18 people, M. levator scapulae in 34 people, and M. obliquus superior in 20 people. The highest number of active MTrPs was 4 in 15 people, and referred pain from MTrPs was present in only 5 people. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs) pain and the type of headache, but there is a relationship between Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs) pain and the location and intensity of the headache.

Abstract

The Health Information System was developed primarily to support health management. The information system used is more focused on a computer-based information system supported by a medical record unit. Electronic Medical Record is the use of information technology devices for collecting, storing, processing and accessing data stored in patient medical records in hospitals in a data-based management system that collects various medical data sources. In managing the health information system, providing access to patient data in digital format, it is hoped that it will make it easier for medical officers to track patient data from time to time, making it easier to obtain patient health information. The process of implementing the system management in this study can be divided into five things, namely: 1.Human Resources, 2.Policies and institutions, 3. System implementation, 4. Data and its management, 5. Access and data integration. This serves to improve the quality of comprehensive health services to patients and medical personnel in helping to provide better health services. In the integrated patient health information system management model, it must provide access to patient health information and allow the exchange of data managed by several medical officers, patient data managers and other hospitals. This is supported by a health information system equipped with a data security system and support from the head of the hospital.

Abstract

Maternal mortality is still a global health issue even though it is decreasing every year. In Indonesia, based on the 2015 SUPAS, the maternal mortality rate reached 305 per 100000 live births, this figure is still very far from the SDGs target (Bappenas, 2017). Postpartum hemorrhage or better known as post-partum hemorrhage (HPP) is a cause of maternal death with an incidence of 1%-6% of all deliveries (Wormer et al., 2022). One of the efforts to prevent the occurrence of HPP is by implementing active management in the third stage of labor. This discussion aims to collect and analyze articles to identify the effectiveness of active management as a treatment for the third stage of labor. The results of this discussion show that the management of the third stage of labor with an active management approach reduces the amount of blood loss and shortens the duration of the third stage of labor compared to physiological management. However, these studies have low or even very low quality. Meanwhile, research on the active management measures of the third stage showed insignificant results regarding the main outcome in the form of the amount of bleeding. So that further research is needed regarding the effectiveness of the application of active management in the management of the third stage of labor and whether active management should be carried out in all low-risk and high-risk patients.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is categorized as elderly if a person is 65 years old. At that age, the physical and psychological abilities of the elderly are decreasing. Since 2004, the President of Indonesia through Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2004, the government has aimed to improve social welfare by improving nursing home facilities, one of which is bathroom and toilet facilities. Given the accidents that most often occur to the elderly in the bathroom and toilet. This effort really needs to be done because the elderly's movement ability has decreased a lot due to a decrease in sensory and motor capacity. In addition, the nervous system of the elderly will experience changes marked by the death of cells in the brain continuously, this results in reduced blood supply to the brain. Such conditions cause a decrease in processing capacity will result in slow body reactions and decreased sensitivity of the five senses. Given this trend, there are more and more studies related to the bathroom for the elderly. The results of research from researchers that have been published in journals related to bathrooms and toilets for the elderly, no one has yet complexly analyzed the interior design of bathrooms and toilets for the elderly that are comfortable and safe. For this reason, before redesigning, it is necessary to analyze the interior design that is safe and comfortable according to the capacity of the elderly as users.
