Abstract

Companies in the print media publishing industry have been encouraged to transform to new media by the changing media consumption patterns of audiences due to increasing technological developments. This condition eventually led to a series of consequences for the companies in the industry to transform their production and consumption processes in order to meet the needs of the society in the digital era. The same thing happened to Gramedia Magazine, where they adopted a digital transformation strategy through the transformation of the old production process into a production process integrated with an information system in the world of information technology. This dissertation tries to describe this transformation process, using the perspective of the theory of mediamorphosis, to give a view of the transformation taking place from the perspective of the publishing world as a response to technological evolution. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection through interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The results of the study found that there were changes in strategies made in content production, resource empowerment, and technology systems with the aim of maintaining its sustainability in the publication industry in the digital age.

Abstract

Tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum, Mill) are fruit vegetable plants that people need every day. Procurement of tomatoes can be cultivated in polybag containers, planted in the yard or on the moor. The ability of tomato plants to grow in polybag containers requires nutritional support in the right dose, right type and at the right time so that production is optimal. One factor that needs to be considered is the vegetative growth process and preventing flower loss. The dry season greatly affects the plant growth process. By administering a dose of KCl to tomato plants, it is hoped that it will increase growth and prevent flower loss, making the process of flowers becoming fruit more optimal. The research was structured in a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 7 levels, namely D1=6 gr/plant, D2=7 gr/plant, D3= 8gr/plant, D4= 9gr/plant, D5=10gr/plant, D6=11gr/plant, D7= 12gr/plant, each treatment was repeated 3 times. The parameters that are considered are plant height, number of leaves, age at flower emergence, number of flowers, total number of fruit and fruit weight (g/plant). The results of the research showed that treatment with various doses of KCl fertilizer had no effect on the growth of plant height and number of leaves. A dose of 10 g/plant gave an increase of 0.89% in the age at which flowers appeared and an increase of 3.33% in the number of flowers compared to the recommended dose of 9 g/plant.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how Generation-Z's political participation will be in facing the simultaneous general election agenda in 2024. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive research method, and the results of this research explain that Generation-Z's political participation in general elections is an important thing that cannot be denied by election organizers or election participants themselves. The increase in voter participation is in line with people's understanding of exercising their right to vote, such as generation Z as first-time voters. Strengthening political participation plays a central role in increasing Generation Z's understanding and involvement in simultaneous general election contestations. In fact, Generation-Z's political participation is a real manifestation of a person's or citizen's involvement in electing state leaders, and directly or indirectly influencing government/state policy. Generation Z's inclusive political participation will also bring long-term benefits to Indonesian democracy, by involving them from an early age and providing positive participation experiences, we can form a generation of voters who are educated, informed and trained in making intelligent political decisions. This will strengthen the foundations of our democracy, create a more inclusive political climate, and build strong political awareness among Generation Z.

Abstract

E-procurement transformation aims to increase effectiveness and efficiency in order to minimize budget expenditure while obtaining the goods/services needed at reasonable and cheap prices with the best quality. In 2023, the Magelang City Government received an award as the best goods/services procurement manager in Central Java, however, there are obstacles such as employees still having difficulty operating E-procurement, resulting in procurement ineffectiveness and inefficiency. These constraints support the confirmation of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT 2) model. The aim of the research is to identify the influence of variables in the UTAUT 2 model on the implementation of E-procurement by government goods/services procurement employees in Magelang City. This research uses a confirmatory quantitative method with a cross-sectional design processed using PLS-SEM. The research results show that there are 4 accepted hypotheses, including Social Influence and Habit have a significant effect on Behavioral Intention, and Facilitating Conditions and Behavioral Intention have a significant effect on Use Behavior. Meanwhile, the 6 hypotheses that were rejected, namely Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Facilitating Condition, Hedonic, and Price Value, had no significant effect on Behavioral Intention, and Habit had no significant effect on Use Behavior. Suggestions that can be given to increase the adoption of E-Procurement acceptance are by conducting regular and periodic outreach and training.

Abstract

Violence refers to physical, verbal, or psychological behaviors carried out to injure or harm others or other beings, including acts of physical abuse, bullying, and warfare. Its impacts often harm societies and individuals, violating human rights principles. Violence can affect the mental and physical conditions of individuals who are victims of it. The purpose of this research is (1) to analyze the meaning conveyed in the film "Malignant" and (2) to analyze the representation of violence depicted by actors within the film "Malignant." The method used by the researcher is a qualitative approach, where the film "Malignant" by James Wan, released in 2021, serves as the primary data source analyzed. The analysis technique used is semiotic analysis from Charles Sanders Peirce, consisting of signs, objects, and the use of signs (interpretant). The analysis results show that the film "Malignant" combines supernatural horror elements with mystery and thriller elements to create a gripping story with many surprises. "Malignant" creates a tense atmosphere with various captivating scenes. It narrates the life of a woman who often receives visions of gruesome murders, which disrupt her peace. These murders are carried out by a terrifying figure. The woman named Madison, portrayed by Annabelle Wallis, also experiences violence from her husband while she is pregnant, leading to a miscarriage. Additionally, at the beginning of the story, her husband is also killed by the same terrifying figure.

Abstract

The incorporation of Virtual Reality (VR) into stationary cycling routines presents a promising strategy for boosting exercise motivation, particularly through the utilization of good digital architectural environments initially created for therapeutic objectives. The primary objective of this research is to investigate the impact of VR's digital architecture design on motivation levels during physical activity. A repurposed VR system was utilized in this investigation, showcasing digitally simulated natural surroundings in a program involving 18 participants. These individuals underwent evaluations utilizing the Behavioral Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire (BREQ) alongside initial surveys concerning exercise behaviors and familiarity with digital gaming. Findings demonstrated a significant enhancement in motivation, achieving an estimated success rate of 83.33% within the participant group, especially evident among those with previous gaming exposure. Nevertheless, external motivational elements such as perceived duty and social pressure also surfaced as noteworthy considerations. Despite these concerns, feedback was predominantly positive, affirming the effectiveness of the VR system in elevating exercise motivation. The results propose substantial ramifications for the expansion of VR applications in exercise programs, promoting the need for more extensive research to evaluate long-term effects and broaden participant demographics to authenticate and broaden these findings. This investigation underscores the potential of VR in rendering exercise more interactive and flexible, proposing a revolutionary approach to improving physical activity participation.
