Abstract

In learning the teacher still uses conventional models and methods so that students do not play an active role. This has a negative impact on student learning outcomes and has not achieved the objectives of the 2013 curriculum which requires students to play an active role in learning. Simple pictorial-based inquiry learning is expected to be able to train students to observe, ask, try, associate and communicate, with that the increase in the results of these students will increase. This type of research is pre-experimental designs. The form of the research design that will be used is the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class X MIPA 6 of SMAN 13 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 Academic Year totaling 33 people. Sampling in this study using Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing to determine the influence of independent variables on aspects of knowledge competence. Based on data analysis that has been done in the experimental class, two research results can be presented. The results showed that the average value of knowledge in the post-test was 78.6 higher than the pre-test of 31.1. The results of the hypothesis obtained the results of the study have t count  > t table. with differences in the ability of students that were significant at a significant level of 0.05. This shows the use of pictorial riddle-based inquiry models assisted by phet simulation on simple material of momentum, impulses and harmonious vibrations on learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 13 Padang. Able to make a greater contribution to improving student learning outcomes

Abstract

Changes in the industrial revolution 4.0 is a contextual aspect that is happening right now is a rapid change due to the discovery of new technologies. The changes are not only linear, but exponential. The impact is not only improving and improving, but it changes fundamentally which makes shifts in many aspects of life. These three STM components are related to each other. Science, Technology, and Society (STM) is an interdisciplinary field of study that seeks to explore and understand the many ways that modern science and technology shape modern culture, values, and institutions, on the one hand, and how modern values form science and technology. The existence of integration in the curriculum makes learning materials close to real-world situations. Thus, this integration is relevant to science because the natural essence found in the real world is an integrated pattern. Various problems are offered a solution by applying and using Multistrategic community technology. STM approach is an Indonesian translation of STS where this approach was first developed in the United States in the 1980s, and subsequently developed in the United Kingdom and Australia. Research objectives are needed for the final results to be achieved in research. Based on the background description, it can be stated the purpose of the study to be more directed. The purpose of this research is to analyze physics textbooks in class XI term 1 based on categories using Science, Technology and Society.Based on the results of analysis of Class XI Physics textbooks with the STM approach it can be concluded that 1) The aspects of science have a more dominant value compared to the aspects of technology and society; 2) Appropriate textbooks (“very good” category) with the STM approach are class XI Physics books for SMA / MA Class XI Curriculum 2013 Revised 2016

Abstract

This research is motivated by the facts in the field that students' understanding was low because students are not actively involved in learning. Learning activities of students can be optimized by the use of conducive equipment of learning. Equipment of learning is suitable to describe the active involvement of students in learning is student worksheet. The purpose of this research is to produce a student worksheet based on simas eric models on the content of measurement and vector that is suitable for physics learning in class X SMA / MA from the aspects of validity and practicality. The type of research applied is R&D (Research and Development) using 3 stages out of 4 4-D stages developed by Thiagarajan, et al. those are define, design, and development. Subject of the research are 33 students class XII from SMAN 3 Padang Panjang, 2 teachers Physics from SMAN 3 Padang Panjang, 4 Physics lectures from FMIPA UNP and a learning model developer. Validation of product are reviewed from two aspects those are the feasebility of equipment of learning and simas eric learning model. The analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysing using formula momen kappa. The result of validaty of the feasebility of equipment of learning was 0,83 with very valid criteria and validaty of simas eric learning model was very valid with value 0,85. The result of practicality by the teacher was 0,81 with very practical criteria and practicality by students was practical criteria with value 0,79.

Abstract

One approach which is suitable for learning Physics is the contextual approach (CTL approach). To implement CTL approaches the textbook used must be able to facilitate CTL approach. Currently there are many textbooks in circulation with various writers. For this reason, it is necessary to find out whether the outstanding textbooks have been able to facilitate CTL approaches in learning. The solution to this problem is to analyze the extent to which textbooks facilitate the implementation of CTL approaches. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The population in this study are all senior high school physics class X textbooks circulating in West Sumatra. The sampling technique used Purposive Sampling type. The sample in this study was the four most textbooks used in West Sumatra Senior High School based on survey results. Data collection techniques in this study is study of documentation. The instrument used for data collection was an analysis sheet containing 7 CTL components. Then the instrument translated into 39 indicators. Each indicator contains one instrument. Data in this study were analyzed using simple statistics. From the research results the best book in facilitating CTL approach is Mediatama’s book with a percentage of 68.94% and the lowest score meeting is the Tiga Serangkai’s book with a percentage of 62.07%. All Textbooks are suitable for use in physics learning using the CTL approach.

Abstract

Achievement of student competencies in learning physics is still relatively low. The results of the distribution of questionnaires in the UNP Laboratory Development High School showed that teaching materials and learning approaches used in the learning process were less varied so that they were unable to provide adequate competency achievement for students. The teaching material used in the study is interactive teaching material with character values in a scientific approach developed by Haflianita Hasanah (2018) which has been tested as valid and practical. As for the effectiveness of teaching materials has not been done. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of Interactive Teaching Materials Loaded with Character Values in Scientific Approaches to Wave Material and Optics Towards Increased Competence of Class XI Students in the UNP Laboratory Development Laboratory.The type of research used is Pre-experimental Designs with One-Group Pretest-posttest. The sample in this study was class XI MIA 2 with a total of 30 students, taken by purposive sampling technique. Data collection tools in the form of pre-test and post-test written tests for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude competencies, scoring rubrics for skills competencies. Analysis of the effectiveness test was performed using a correlated t test. After conducting research and continuing with analyzing data, it can be concluded that Interactive Teaching Materials with Character Values in Scientific Approaches on Wave Material and Optics are effectively used in learning at a real level of 0.05 which can be seen from an increase in students' learning competency in the aspect of knowledge at the time after using Interactive Teaching Materials. The results of the effectiveness based on the calculated value obtained is smaller than the value of the table. The t value obtained is -31.12 while the value of -table is equal to -1.701.

Abstract

In 21st century education requires the produced of quality human resources. The emphasized skills are students have the ability to think critically and solve problems, communicate and cooperate, create and renew, and literacy skills. The government's efforts in answering the demands of 21st century education are by implementing the 2017 revised 2017 curriculum. The reality in school showed that physics learning has not been implemented well, one of student’s literacy is still low. One solution to develop physics teaching materials with scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of physics teaching materials with scientific literacy.Type of research was Research and Development (R & D). The object of this research was physics teaching material that contains scientific literacy in matter of scale, measurement and vectors. Sources of data from this study were obtained from the results of validation of teaching materials. The validation results were obtained from three  physics lecturers. The data collection instrument used was a validity test sheet to determine product validity. Data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis of the results of product validation. Based on the analysis of the data from the research,it can be concluded physics teaching materials with scientific literacy on the material quantities and measurement, vector have validity with category very high with an average validation value of 88.73.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum emphasizes a learning process that is student-centered, active, interactive and integrated with a scientific approach. One supporting factor for the creation of learning is the availability of good learning resources. However, the reality in the field of learning resources used is not in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum, does not meet the needs of students, and does not fully meet the criteria for good teaching materials. Teaching material used in the form of printed teaching materials that contain subject matter and questions only, without the scientific approach that includes it. Teaching materials that utilize technology are still in separate forms such as videos, animations, images, which have not been packaged in a single unit (not yet interactive). Therefore, it is necessary to design teaching materials that utilize technology such as Android on smartphones. This study aims to produce products in the form of android-based teaching materials for learning physics in sound wave material, light waves and valid optical devices. This research focuses on making an Android-based teaching material product in the form of an interactive module in accordance with the steps of making teaching material in the form of a module according to the Ministry of National Education (2010). Like the planning stage, the preparation phase (determining teaching material, type of software, models and storyboards) as well as the preparation of teaching material. The validity of the product was assessed by three physics lecturers from FMIPA UNP and one physics teacher at SMAN 8 Padang. Based on research that has been done, produced a product in the form of teaching materials based on Android. This teaching material contains text, sound, animation, music, and video. The research product was also categorized as very valid in terms of the content of teaching materials, grammar, graphics, scientific approaches and software utilization with an average value of 89.11%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze junior high school science textbooks based on environmental literacy content. The research analyzed the books based on the contents of aspects of environmental literacy, namely: knowledge of the environment, cognitive skills, attitudes towards the environment and behavior towards the environment. The object of this research is the junior high school science textbook. The research population was five in 5 junior high school science textbooks that were analyzed. Sampling was carried out using a two-stage sampling technique. The results of this research indicate an imbalance in the proportion of aspects of environmental literacy contained in the book. All textbooks analyzed emphasize more knowledge of the environment. From the five books analyzed, it is known that the book which has environmental circulation is book 1, which is 78 scores. And the book that has the lowest environmental literacy is the book in book 3 which is 55 scores.

Abstract

Education is an effort in forming a human character. Strengthened of the government by formulating Presidential Regulation No. 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education. But the reality in the field is not in accordance with the expectations that the government wants, this is in accordance with the questionnaire to students at SMAN 1 Batang Anai. It is known that the learning motivation of students is lacking due to the lack of practicum and its support such as student worksheets. Using student worksheets makes the teacher easy to deliver material, so that time becomes more effective. These teaching materials will be used by students during learning, therefore the students’ worksheets can be taken from the worksheet. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research by producing products in the form of student worksheets that are integrated character values by using the Learning Cycle 5E model on valid class XI fluid material. This research is a descriptive study using steps to prepare student worksheets according to the Ministry of National Education. This study aims to describe the validity of the student worksheets that have been made. Validation was assessed by three UNP Physics lecturers and one physics teacher at SMAN 1 Batang Anai which were conducted twice. The instrument of data collection used is the instrument validity and the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques for product validity. Two results were obtained, the results of the first study produced a product in the form of student worksheets that integrated character values with the 5E Learning Cycle model. The results of the second study are the results of the validity test conducted twice, with the average value of the first validity being 84 with very valid criteria and the average value of the second validity is 92 with very valid criteria. So, the conclusion of this study is the integrated worksheet of student values with the 5E Learning Cycle is very feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was found out the physics textbooks for senior high school Grade X Semester 2 has facilitated the implementation of contextual teaching and learning in senior high school. This research used descriptive method, where data collection used purposive sampling method. The population in this study are all senior high school physics textbooks grade X used in Indonesia and circulating in West Sumatra. The sample in this study were four physics texbooks Grade X Semester 2 in  senior high school used by several schools in West Sumatra. Colecting of data used instrument which contains seven component of contextual teaching and learning, which are translated into 39 items. The results showed that the presentation of physics textbooks for grade X semester 2 had facilitated the Implementation of the contextual teaching and learning. Textbook that greatly facilitate the implementation of a contextual teaching and learning and are suitable to use by schools is Sunardi’s book, which have an average value of 85% on the very facilitating category. While the textbook that has the lowest value is Marthen Kanginan's book with an average value of 63%  which is categorized as facilitating.
