Abstract

Sarimana U, Indarto N, Herrero J, Erika P, Wendra F, Zulhermana Z, Asmono D. 2019. Genetic diversity preliminary study of cameroon origin oil palm at PT. Binasawit Makmur. Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands. 8(2):126-133.  A plant breeding program needs genetic diversity information of germplasm, but the source of genetic diversity of oil palm plants in Indonesia is very narrow. In order to increase genetic diversity, the introduction of germplasm from Cameroon was conducted. The purpose of this study was to obtain a useful molecular marker in order to get genetic diversity information in Elaeis guinensis germplasm materials from Cameroon at PT. Binasawit Makmur (BSM). This preliminary research has been done in 2013. In this study, 300 samples of Cameroon oil palm DNA from 99 accessions and 10 samples DNA BSM material were analyzed by 9 microsatellite markers (simple sequence repeat; SSR). The 9 SSR markers used were very informative and we obtained 93 alleles with an average of 10.33 alleles per locus. The value of polymorphism information content (PIC) was around 0.746-0.889. The total genetic diversity was relative high (HT = 0.814). The coordinate analysis showed no groups in both 99 accessions and BSM material. Based on phylogenetic analysis, 9 SSR markers could show the genetic diversity between the populations. To validate this fact, it needs further research using more molecular markers and samples.

Abstract

Yasar et al, 2017. Prediction of Ground Water Potential for Optimization of Rainfed Rice Field in Supporting Food Security. JLSO 6(2):170-175.In Simeulue Island, that has the existed paddy field and generally of that is  rainfed. Recently, to irrigate the paddy field with that percentage is expected enough by natural meet of the necessity of paddy field by receiving the potential precipitation. However, rising of the climate change has caused paddy field activity is not fully runned by only utilizing the precipitation and utilizing the surface water, as irrigatiom water resource is not possible because of geological difficulty. This article aims to find a breakthrough related to the problem of irrigation water insufficiency through utilization of natural resource potency in Simeuleu Island. Presenting is descriptively done using primary data by way of field measurement and literature review to obtain a beneficiary of groundwater as irrigation water resource. Data acquiring in this research uses geoelectrical method by setting the Wanner-Schlumberger configuration of Resistiviti meter ARES. Data were obtained from one spread that was east-west oriented by having 460 m spread length and 20 m spacing interval. The coordinate of spread is at initial point N 02°25’14.2”/E 96°18’12.2” and at final point N 02°25’43.9”/E 96°18’27.1. Based on the 2D resistivity cross section shows that Situbok village (STB) is generally obtained a low resistivity value which is 2-100 Ωm in range and dominantly expected as alluvium. Low resistivity value can be estimated as a conductive layer (aquifer) which commonly consists of groundwater. On the cross section of resistivity value, the conductive layer is the layer which has the resistivity value less than 16 Ωm and laterally and vertically is existed at 240-360 m and 45-94 m, respectively.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effect of nutrient fertilization on the growth and development of nepenthes (Nepenthes mirabilis). The research was conducted from October 2011 until March 2012 at Sukarami village, Palembang, Indonesia. Factorial randomized block design with two treatment factors was applied. The first factor was NPK fertilizer dosage which consisted of three levels: Po = no fertilizer, P1 = 5 g, P2 = 10 g. The second factor was number of ants: S0 = none, S1 = 20, S2 = 40, S3 = 60. The results indicated that NPK fertilizer application of 5-10 g to the planting media could increase plant growth and development, particularly in plant height, stem girth, and leaf number of N. mirabilis. Giving 60 ants per plants into nepenthes pitcher could yield the largest pitcher number, 3-4 pitcher per plant. Combination of 5 g NPK and 20 ants, similarly, combination of 10 g NPK and 0 ants resulted in the largest leaf increment (10-11 leaves). Combination of 0 NPK and 60 ants resulted in the largest pitcher number (3-4 pitcher per plant).
