KABANTI: Jurnal Kerabat Antropologi, merupakan ruang bagi mahasiswa Strata 1 (S1) Jurusan Antropologi, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB), Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) yang dikelola oleh Kerabat Antropologi FIB UHO sendiri. Kabanti adalah jurnal ilmiah antropologi yang mengajak kerabat antropologi untuk berpartisipasi menulis artikel ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan kajian-kajian antropologi dan etnografi. Kabanti diterbitkan dua kali setahun pada bulan Januari dan Juli. Nama Kabanti (Buton) atau Kabhanti (Muna), diambil dari tradisi berucap pantun dalam kedua suku tersebut. Kabanti membawa nilai-nilai moral, nilai-nilai keagamaan, petunjuk kehidupan atau petuah, sindiran, percintaan, serta nilai-nilai budaya dan adat istiadat. Tradisi Kabanti, yang bertujuan memperkokoh nilai dan norma dalam masyarakat, saat ini mendekati kepunahan.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hambatan pernikahan yang diselesaikan melalui Penyelenggara Pembantu Penghulu (P3) dan juga untuk mengetahui mekanisme penyelesaian hambatan pernikahan melalui P3. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi (pengamatan), dan wawancara (interview). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hambatan yang sering terjadi dalam pernikahan di Desa Wungka Kecamatan Wangi-Wangi Selatan adalah hambatan ekonomi dan perjodohan. Adapun mekanisme penyelesain hambatan itu dengan cara potodenako (kawin lari). Kawin lari hanya bisa dilakukan di rumah imam atau Penyelenggara Pembantu Penghulu (P3) dengan tahapan menikah: Datang di kediaman P3, Musyawarah dan menentukan hari baik sesuai kepercayaan masyarakat Wakatobi, Ijab kabul. Meskipun potodenako (kawin lari) adalah bentuk penyimpangan namun masih banyak yang menyelesaikan masalahnya dengan kawin lari tersebut.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan interpretasi pelaksanaan tradisi hepatirangga dalam menyambut malam lailatul qadr. Menggunakan teori simbol oleh Victor Turner dengan metode etnogfafi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi hepatirangga merupakan salah satu budaya ritual tahunan pada masyarakat Kelurahan Wandoka Selatan seperti mewarnai kuku dengan daun pacar yang telah dihaluskan dan sebagai bentuk ucapan syukur serta menghormati arwah nenek moyangnya dengan berkunjung ke pemakaman keluarga yang telah meninggal dunia karena bisa kembali merayakan malam lailatul qadr. Tradisi dilakukan tepat pada malam ke 27 sebagai salah satu cara untuk menyambut hari lebaran. Tradisi hepatirangga selain menjadi ajang pencarian jodoh juga dimaknai sebagai bentuk cerminan perilaku masyarakat untuk berpikir sebelum bertindak dalam melakukan sesuatu. Menurut kepercayaan masyarakat setempat daun patirangga tidak hannya digunakan untuk mewarnai kuku tetapi juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bentuk media dengan leluhur serta daun pacar sebagai pengobatan tahunan dalam hepatirangga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan proses adopsi pengetahuan lada pada masyarakat di Desa Laromerui Kecamatan Routa Kabupaten Konawe, perbedaan hasil panen lada antara masyarakat lokal dan masyarakat Bugis di Desa Laromerui Kecamatan Routa Kabupaten Konawe. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Proses adopsi pengetahuan bertani lada pada masyarakat di Desa Laromerui Kecamatan Routa Kabupaten Konawe diantaranya: a) Pemilihan bibit lada, b) cara pengolahan lahan, c) cara menanam, d) cara perawatan tanaman, dan e) cara panen. (2) Perbedaan hasil panen lada antara masyarakat lokal dan masyarakat Bugis di Desa Laromerui Kecamatan Routa Kabupaten Konawe dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya: a) luas lahan yang dimiliki, b) cara perawatan, c) jumlah pohon lada dalam l hektar lahan, d) hasil panen dalam 1 hektar, dan e) hasil jual yang mereka peroleh dalam 1 hektar kebun lada.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana jejaring kekerabatan orang Bajo menopang atas pencahariannya serta bagaimana jaringan kekerabatan pada orang Bajo dapat memudahkan pergi atau berpindah ke wilayah yang baru. Teori yang digunakan yaitu teori Jringan Sosial Menurut Zanden (1990). Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode etnografi oleh james spradley. Hasil penelitian ini ialah jaringan kekerabatan pada Orang Bajo dapat menopang mata pencahariannya di karenakan adanya keterikatan hubungan kekerabatan yang terjalin antara Orang bajo itu sendiri dan bagaimana sebuah komunikasi selalu terjalin meski berada di daerah yang berbeda dan Orang Bajo ini sendiri tidak pernah melupakan suatu hubungan yang sudah terjalin sejak lama, Serta bagaimna jaringan kekerabatan itu memudahkan mereka ketika akan berpindah atau menetap di suatu wilayah.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the reasons why FIB UHO students use the veil and how to deal with negative stigma when in a public environment, how to choose the type of vehicle, and how to adapt in the learning process. The results showed that there were three main factors that became the main reason for female students to use the veil, namely the veil as an identity of goodness, the organizational doctrine adopted, and environmental factors. The ways in which veiled students overcome obstacles are divided into several points, including how to deal with negative stigma, how to choose the type of vehicle when traveling and how to adapt to the campus environment. Overcoming negative stigma is done by displaying good behavior, being patient, showing achievements, giving explanations and removing the veil while in the family environment in the village. The methods used in choosing the type of vehicle when traveling are renting an ojek with a female driver, asking family or relatives to take them, using public transportation (pete-pete) when there are female passengers and walking if this is not possible. Use public transportation. To adapt to the campus environment, the way to do it is to choose a front seat so that later when given the opportunity to speak, the voice of a veiled woman can be heard clearly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the socio-economic condition of the community in Dahiango Village, Mawasangka District, Central Buton Regency, which generally talks about health, education, community work, and community housing conditions. This research uses the theory of Human Ecology by Rambo by using qualitative methods. The results of the research on the social conditions of the community, the educational condition of the community is still very lacking, so they only work as field farmers, laborers, wood bearers and traders, health facilities for the Dahango community are not adequate, in the village there is already a Polindes building but there are no facilities, the community only can check his health twice a month. Economic Conditions For the work of the people of Dahiango Village, they have potential, they have local wisdom values ??such as making baskets from forest rattan, but the community has problems in marketing their products, lack of community education so that they do not have expertise in marketing their baskets, lack of traders who enter in Dahiango Village so they only sell it to the people in the village.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the reasons why Bugis nobles migrated to Basala District and how Bugis nobles showed their identity in overseas areas. The results of this study indicate that the arrival of Bugis aristocrats in Basala District was due to a family invitation factor and the desire to improve the economy, due to the area of ​​agricultural land available and the price of land which was relatively cheap compared to their native area or in South Sulawesi. The way Bugis aristocrats show their identity with the call of Pung and the difference in dowry given to noble descendants, not only that, nobility can also be distinguished by looking at the roof of the three-story house. There are several suggestions from this research, namely, the people in the District, including the Bugis nobles, to maintain good relations, and for the government to continue to develop the culture of the people in Basala District, including the Bugis tribes who are there.

Abstract

              This research is entitled ''The Myth of the Muna People Against Lake Motonuno''. The purpose of the study was to reveal the knowledge of the Muna people about the Myth of Lake Motonuno and the reasons for still maintaining this belief. This study reads the data with the thought of Radclive Brown, with the ethnographic method. The results of the study, the knowledge of the Muna people about Lake Motonuno as a sacred place that was passed down from generation to generation. The existence of Lake Motonuno is because people use it as a source of life so that it raises things that are taboo in the form of myths to maintain the wisdom of Lake Motonuno. This is in accordance with Radclive Brown's proposal on the term value ritual. Whatever a person in material terms, a place, a word or a name, an occasion or event, a day of the week or a period of year that is the object of a taboo avoidance ritual can be said to have a value ritual. Radclive Brown also states that there is a belief that violating a taboo will result in undesirable changes for the person who violates it. So, for generations, people still believe in the myth of Lake Motonuno.

Abstract

The method of data collection in the study used ethnographic methods that emphasize involved observation, in-depth interviews, interpreting and analyzing various observations, the data were analyzed from the beginning of the research in a qualitative descriptive manner. The research shows that (1) The students in Lalalara Village play online games almost every day. They play from morning until late at night. The place where students play online games is in boarding houses, warkop to campus. The types of online games that are often played are PUB-G Mobile, Call of duty and also Free Fire. (2) The factors that cause Lalolara students who are used as informants in student research who play online games are caused by interesting game features, long enough game play duration, fun playmates and also competencies held by online games. (3) Implications of Lalolara students who play online games. Students who play online games almost forget their surroundings and they even begin to hesitate to interact with their surroundings since they often play online games.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the symbolic meaning of the meta’ua tradition in the Sompu community and why the meta’ua tradition is still maintained by the Siompu community. This research user symbolic theory by Clifford Geertz. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection carried out by observation and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the symbolic meaning of tools and materials including the meaning of drums, meaning of gongs, shields, long machetes, spears and fraingipani flowers. The meanings of behavioral symbols include the meaning of humaano Baruga (eating together in a traditional house), the meaning of fomani dance and the meaning of aroano rewu (picking up trash). The meta’ua tradition is still maintained by the Siompu community because it has positive values including: the meta’ua tradition can contribute to the life of the Siompu community, especially in realizing social solidarity, as an arena for community gathering, establishing communication between communities, creating mutual cooperation and mutual cooperation. Help each other complete the work a nd there is a sense of shared responsibility in completing the work so that it is still maintained and cultifated.
