Abstract

Gender equality is defined as a condition where women and men have equal conditions to be able to realize their full rights as human beings and to be able to contribute, and benefit from development. Therefore, gender equality is part of the development target for countries that experience high development such as Indonesia. This research aims to understand whether aggregateive democracy is incapable of meeting the demands of feminists? Feminists demand that women should be involved in life in the state. What do women want to participate? and what does their involvement look like? The results showed that women and men have differences, but that does not mean men and women do not have equality. The results showed that women and men have differences, but that does not mean men and women do not have equality. Democracy has opened up space to achieve that equality, but equality between men and women is difficult to achieve even in an aggregative democracy. To achieve that, participatory democracy is the solution, the reason is that women have basic needs that men never think about in making decisions in the legislature. To realize women's involvement, the concept of geunder-neutral and gender-differentiated citizenship can be a theory that can be implemented, one of which is through the adoption of a sequence number election system by placing women in the first sequence number.

Abstract

Kafurui (massage) is a traditional healing or health therapy method, by applying pressure to the body either in a structured, unstructured, sedentary or moving place by applying pressure and done manually. This study aims to find out and describe the reasons why people choose Kafurui as an alternative treatment for fractures and to find out the process carried out by shamans in treating fracture patients in Liangkabori Village. The data collection technique used in this research is field research technique using two methods, namely involved observation and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that people choose Kafurui as an alternative treatment due to several factors, namely habit factors, economic factors, experience factors and easy-to-reach factors. The process of treating fracture patients depends on the type of fracture, the process of treating mild fractures, the shaman touches the broken part while saying two sentences of shahada after which the patient begins to be sequenced (kafurui). Severe fractures that are accompanied by wounds are not massaged at the beginning of treatment, but only blown with mantras, until the wounds begin to heal, then the sequencing process begins. The first step taken by the shaman is to reposition the bones or rearrange the bones that have been crushed so that they can return to their previous arrangement by sequencing. In this sugar cane fracture, since the patient came for treatment, the sequencing process has begun because there is no wound so that infection will not occur.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the roles of husbands and wives in the family and what the implications of changes in the roles of husbands and wives are for the family. The selection of informants in this study used the purposive sampling technique . This research uses the Theory of Social Change by William F. Ogburn. The data collection technique used in this research is field work using two methods, namely observation and in-depth interviews. This research is qualitative research using ethnographic research methods. The results of this study show that, role change in Molinese Village has slowly occurred in the 2000s and above and there are several families who experience it because of the lack of income in the family so that it affects the economy. However, with the entry of the oil palm company in this village in 2007, immediately the wives flocked to work as employees of the oil palm plantation as well as the husbands, but over time many husbands stopped working because of the wage system that was considered uneven and they chose to do gardening and some did not have a permanent job. Meanwhile, the wives are still working as employees of the oil palm plantation or PT MERBAU, until now. Some of the implications of changes in the role of husbands and wives on the family are the lack of harmony in the household, not having a tire, and the lack of a permanent job.

Abstract

This study explores the role of women in the Tolaki traditional marriage ceremony and the perspectives of men and women on this role. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive method and draws on socialist feminism theory. The findings reveal that women play a crucial role in various stages of the marriage customs. For instance, during the Mondutudu or proposal stage, the mother of the male/female side accompanies the family during the proposal. After the proposal, the bride-to-be is guided by a Tono Motuo or Female Traditional Leader, often the grandmother, who provides valuable advice for the future household. Additionally, women play a central role during the engagement ceremony, as they arrange for the treat of sekapur sirih Kalo Sara. The male party presents this treat through the Pabitara, which is then received by the woman. These customs highlight the important role women have in the Tolaki traditional marriage ceremony.

Abstract

This study aims to describe what factors influence the shift of Javanese language at the adolescent level in Mekar Jaya Village, Baito Subdistrict and Lawoila Village, Konda Subdistrict, South Konawe Regency and the impact of Javanese language shift on adolescents in Mekar Jaya Village. The data collection technique used ethnographic methods that are qualified by involved observation and in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the factors that influence the shift in the use of Javanese language at the adolescent level include: (1) Family factors, namely in Mekar Jaya Village the lack of interaction and communication using Javanese in the family so that it causes children to be lazy to learn and apply Javanese in the family environment and the scope of association in the community, while in Lawoila Village Javanese language is still taught. Parents accustom their children to communicate using Javanese. (2) educational factors, although living and attending school in an environment with a majority of Javanese ethnicity, the local language used in local content subjects in elementary schools (SD) is Tolaki local language, as well as in Lawoila Village although in everyday life using Javanese but the local language taught in elementary schools is Tolaki local language. (3) Social environment factors, although living in an environment where the community is of Javanese ethnicity, the language actively used by the community to communicate is Indonesian, unlike in Lawoila Village which still uses Javanese in the social environment and youth association. From the occurrence of Javanese language shift, the impact is that Indonesian is easily understood by ethnicities other than Java, meaning that Indonesian can make it easier for Javanese people to communicate with people in the neighborhood where they live.
