Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health problem that requires early diagnosis to prevent serious complications. This study aims to develop a CKD classification model using the XGBoost algorithm on the Kidney Disease dataset with 16,432 samples, which includes clinical features such as smoking status, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, BMI, and CRP. The method includes data preprocessing (missing value handling, categorical coding, normalization), dataset splitting (80% training, 20% testing), and hyperparameter optimization through grid search with 3-fold cross-validation. The XGBoost model was configured with optimal parameters (subsample 1.0, n_estimators 200, max_depth 6, learning_rate 0.2, colsample_bytree 0.8) for multi-class classification of CKD risk. The evaluation results showed an accuracy of 87.33%, with a macro avg F1-score of 0.87, a precision of 0.87, and a recall of 0.87, confirming balanced performance across all classes. Important features such as CRP and diabetes mellitus contribute significantly, supporting clinical interpretability. The conclusion of this study indicates that XGBoost is effective for CKD diagnosis, with potential integration into electronic health systems for mass screening, although further validation is needed on local Indonesian data. This research contributes to machine learning-based diagnostic innovations to reduce the burden of CKD.

Abstract

Sustainable gastronomy emphasizes culinary practices oriented towards health, environmental sustainability, and local economic empowerment. This study aims to optimize the potential of Fragaria (strawberries) as a local superfood through the application of Low Temperature Cooking (LTC) technology in cake production. The method used is a true experimental design with a Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) approach, involving a control group and a treatment group using the LTC technique. The products were organoleptically tested by 35 panelists, consisting of expert and non-expert panelists, for four main sensory attributes: taste, aroma, color, and texture. The results showed that the LTC technique was able to maintain the sensory characteristics and nutritional quality of the product better than conventional methods. The best formulation was obtained at a composition of 75% strawberry puree (P2) with an average score of 3.6, indicating a high level of preference for taste, color, and texture attributes. This study confirms that the application of LTC technology to Fragaria-based products not only increases the competitiveness of local gastronomy but also supports the principles of a circular economy and energy efficiency in the sustainable culinary industry. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing functional food products based on locally sourced ingredients with high nutritional value and that are environmentally friendly.

Abstract

This study aims to comparatively examine legal regulations related to criminal defamation occurring through social media during the regional head election (Pilkada) campaign period in Lamongan Regency. This study refers to the provisions of Law Number 7 of 2023 concerning Elections, which explicitly prohibits acts of insult or defamation during the election process. On the other hand, there are also regulations governing similar crimes in the electronic domain, as stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE). This study employs a qualitative approach with a comparative method to analyze the changes, advantages, and weaknesses in the provisions of the latest ITE Law, particularly in the context of political dynamics during the Pilkada campaign period in Lamongan Regency. The analysis shows that Law Number 1 of 2024 provides a more detailed and firm definition and limitations for the crime of defamation on social media. This regulation more clearly establishes the threshold for legal violations and the applicable sanctions, thereby creating greater legal certainty. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for law enforcement in strengthening legal protection for victims of defamation against individuals in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding Customer Experience and Hedonic Value in increasing Repurchase Intention in the hospitality industry. The problem of this study focuses on the analysis of the influence of Customer Experience and Hedonic Value on guest repurchase intention at Aston Hotel and Residences Batam. Using quantitative methods with a descriptive approach and multiple linear regression analysis, data were collected from 210 purposively selected respondents and analyzed through the Jamovi 2.6.44 program. The results showed that Customer Experience (X₁) and Hedonic Value (X₂) had a positive and significant influence on Repurchase Intention (Y). The regression equation obtained was y=1.838+0.205X1+0.650X2, y =1.838+0.205 X1+0.650 X2 with a significance value of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.956, indicating that 95.6% variation in Repurchase Intent can be explained by Customer Experience and Hedonic Value. Thus, the more positive the experience and emotional value the guest receives, the higher their intention to stay again at the hotel.

Abstract

This research examines the implications of Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2025 on Government Spending Efficiency for the implementation of legal aid services for the poor, with a particular focus on the EL-PDKP Legal Aid Institute. The right to legal aid is a constitutional guarantee, as stipulated in Article 28D paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and Law No. 16 of 2011 on Legal Aid, which affirms the state’s obligation to provide access to justice for all citizens without economic discrimination. However, the budget efficiency policy mandated by the Presidential Instruction has resulted in a significant reduction in legal aid funding, including a decrease in EL-PDKP’s budget from IDR 90,000,000 in 2024 to IDR 36,000,000 in 2025. This research employs a juridical-normative and empirical approach to analyze the tension between principles of distributive justice and the state’s constitutional duty to ensure access to justice. It also assesses the consistency of the Presidential policy with higher legal norms. Empirically, the study explores the concrete impact of budget cuts on EL-PDKP’s capacity to provide litigation and non-litigation legal services. The findings are expected to offer policy recommendations that are more responsive to the legal needs of marginalized communities, while reinforcing the welfare state function in realizing social justice and access to justice in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract Groupthink is a common situation in group decision-making, where the desire to reach consensus often overrides the critical evaluation of decision options. This phenomenon is more likely to occur in public organizations and bureaucracies that tend to be hierarchical and rigid. This study aims to identify the role of leadership in reducing the risk of groupthink through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Of the 32 articles analyzed, it was found that an authoritarian leadership style increases the risk of groupthink, while participatory, inclusive, transformational, vigilant, and ethical leadership styles have been shown to minimize this risk. This study contributes both academically and practically, particularly in understanding the relationship between leadership style and the potential for groupthink.
