Abstract

The aim of the research is to develop an Android-based learning media on basic physics courses in informatics engineering at STT Ibnu Sina which is valid, practical, effective. This study uses a method with Four-D design applied to develop and test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of android-based learning media. The stages of the research include defining, designing, developing, and distributing. The results of testing the validity of Android-based learning media indicate that the learning media are valid. Based on the response of lecturers and students about the practicality of instructional media shows that learning media is very practical and based on student learning outcomes indicate that the Android-based learning media has been effectively used in basic physics learning. The results of data analysis show that Android-based learning media is better in improving student learning in the basic physics learning process. Then concluded that the Android-based learning media can be applied in learning basic physics. Android-based learning media can be developed more broadly along with technological developments in the learning process.

Abstract

The IT role that is likely to have the greatest effect on human resource processes is that of electronic forms processing transactions. recruitment through this portal is more intended to recruit indirect labor employees or employees who are not directly related to production and with a limited number. Therefore, many companies/organizations use Google Forms for the employee recruitment process which requires a large number of candidates. The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the effect of Task Characteristics, Technology Characteristics, and Individual Characteristics on Task Technology Fit and its influence on Individual Performance, User Satisfaction, Benefit, Utilization, Perceived Ease of Use, and Perceived Usefulness in the recruitment process using the google form. This research is quantitative research that will examine the effect of the variables, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable by testing the hypothesis. The population in this study was 219 members of the Association of Human Resource Practitioners (IPSM). The sample used in this study was 71 respondents who processed data using Smart PLS 3.2.9. The results of this study indicate that 8 of the 9 hypotheses show a significant and positive effect. This shows that IPSM members have adopted Task Technology Fit in their recruitment process by using the Google form. However, it is necessary to conduct further research with more respondents.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of hotel facilities and service quality on guest satisfaction at Fave Hotel Olo Padang, a prominent hospitality provider in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a causal-associative research design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 140 guests who had stayed at the hotel. The research instrument was developed based on established indicators for each variable and validated prior to data collection. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS version 30. The findings reveal that while service quality has a statistically significant and positive impact on guest satisfaction (β = 0.694, p < 0.001), hotel facilities do not demonstrate a significant effect (β = -0.029, p = 0.430). However, the joint analysis using the F-test indicates that both hotel facilities and service quality together significantly influence guest satisfaction (F = 808.268, p < 0.001), explaining a substantial portion of the variance. These results suggest that although guests value the tangible aspects of the hotel environment, it is the quality of interpersonal service interactions—such as responsiveness, empathy, and reliability—that predominantly shapes their satisfaction. The study contributes to hospitality management literature by reinforcing the pivotal role of service excellence in fostering guest satisfaction, especially in mid-range hotels. Practical implications are offered for hotel managers to prioritize staff training and customer experience strategies over mere investment in physical infrastructure.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of work discipline and work-life balance on employee productivity within the hospitality industry, specifically at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. Employing a quantitative, causal-associative design, data were collected from 102 employees using structured questionnaires and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that both work discipline and work-life balance exert a statistically significant and positive influence on employee productivity (p < 0.001). Furthermore, the model explains 71.9% of the variance in productivity, indicating a substantial combined effect. The results underscore the importance of structured discipline management and balanced work-life practices in enhancing performance outcomes in hotel operations. Practical implications include the need for reinforced supervision, flexible scheduling, and employee well-being programs to foster sustainable productivity improvements

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of communication and motivation on employee productivity within the hospitality industry, using Turi Beach Resort in Batam, Indonesia, as a case context. The research was driven by the operational challenges faced in resort environments, particularly those related to internal coordination and fluctuating work intensity. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was adopted, and data were collected through structured questionnaires from a sample of 147 employees. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to examine the individual and combined effects of the variables. The results indicate that both communication (β = 0.307, p = 0.001) and motivation (β = 0.438, p = 0.000) significantly and positively influence employee productivity. Moreover, the model passed all classical assumption tests, confirming its statistical robustness. These findings highlight the strategic importance of internal communication in fostering clarity and coordination, and of intrinsic motivation in driving consistent employee performance. The study contributes to the human resource management literature by emphasizing the dual role of communication and motivation as complementary drivers of productivity in high-contact service industries. Managerial implications suggest the need for structured communication systems and motivation-enhancing policies to improve organizational outcomes.

Abstract

Wise internet use is an important issue in today's digital age, where almost everyone, including children and adults, are connected through social media. Social media, which includes platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, allows users to share, communicate and create content. However, this rapid development also brings negative impacts, such as the spread of false information (hoaxes) and misuse of personal data. This research aims to educate high school students about the wise use of social media through an extension program at SMA Negeri 16 Padang City. The methods used were lectures and hands-on practice using information technology tools. The results of this program showed that the education provided succeeded in increasing students' awareness of the importance of wise use of social media as well as their ability to filter the information received. The conclusion of this study confirms the need for continuous education on digital literacy to minimize the negative impact of social media among adolescents.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out at Nagari Maninjau Tourism Village, West Sumatra. Nagari Maninjau Tourism Village has great potential in tourism. The objectives of this activity are: 1) Increasing youth knowledge in digital use, 2) Developing youth creativity in creating tourism content, especially MSMEs and homestays, 3) Having a positive impact on business actors to create a creative and innovative environment. The target of this activity is the youth of Nagari Maninjau who take part in training activities, especially the Maninjau Kreative group. The method of implementing this community service is carried out through 4 processes, namely: preparation, digital marketing training, creative digital process assistance, and assessment. Mentoring activities are carried out by direct visits and online via WhatsApp. Assessment is carried out to find out how the impact of activities that have been carried out by the community. The results of this activity are the increased knowledge of youth in digital marketing, then the implementation of homestay video content and culinary product design, to the formation of the Maninjau Kreatif group and Instagram Maninjau Kreatif Forum.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan mendeskripsikan tentang pelestarian budaya di Nagari Sipangkur Kecamatan Tiumang Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Pelestarian budaya lokal dan penguatan identitas tradisional masyarakat menjadi fokus utama dalam penulisan artikel ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat studi litelatur, dan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi lapangan dan observasi melalui wawancara dengan Masyarakat Nagari Sipangkur. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Nagari Sipangkur secara aktif melestarikan budaya melalui pertunjukkan seni gamelan dalam beberapa kegiatan masyarakat yang rutin diadakan, dengan demikian pelestarian budaya di nagari sipangkur menunjukkan kolaborasi, kreatifitas dalam sebuah komunitas masyarakat. Melalui penerapan seni gamelan dalam kegiatan sosial dan spiritual tujuan utamanya Adalah meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap nilai budaya tradisional, didalam pelaksanaannya terlibat juga generasi muda. Tiga dari sepuluh orang yang ikut serta didalamnya menunjukkan potensi regenerasi budaya.

Abstract

Partisipasi perempuan dalam olahraga masih menghadapi hambatan struktural, seperti keterbatasan akses, minimnya dukungan kelembagaan, serta dominasi konstruksi sosial yang kurang berpihak. Fenomena ini juga terlihat di Nagari Sipangkur, Kecamatan Tiumang, Kabupaten Dharmasraya, di mana keterlibatan perempuan dalam olahraga khususnya volleyball relatif rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pendekatan partisipatif dalam menguatkan peran perempuan melalui penyelenggaraan turnamen volleyball putri berbasis masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, pembentukan panitia lokal, serta pelaksanaan turnamen secara kolaboratif. Hasil menunjukkan partisipasi aktif 8 tim yang setara dengan 96 atlet perempuan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 20 panitia lokal dan 12 mahasiswa KKN, dengan tingkat kehadiran masyarakat rata-rata 250–300 orang atau sekitar 65 persen dari kapasitas lapangan. Berdasarkan survei evaluasi, 85% peserta merasakan peningkatan motivasi untuk berolahraga, sedangkan 78%  penonton menilai turnamen memperkuat interaksi sosial antarwarga. Secara analitis, data tersebut menegaskan bahwa turnamen olahraga lokal tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana rekreasi, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen pemberdayaan komunitas yang mendorong kesetaraan gender, memperkuat kohesi sosial, dan meningkatkan kapasitas kelembagaan lokal. Implikasi konseptual kegiatan ini menunjukkan kontribusi nyata olahraga komunitas terhadap pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals, khususnya pada aspek kesehatan, kesetaraan, pengurangan kesenjangan, serta penguatan kelembagaan masyarakat desa.

Abstract

Minyak jelantah adalah minyak goreng yang sering digunakan yang telah kehilangan kualitasnya. Pemakaian berulang minyak goreng dapat berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan seperti gangguan ginjal, hipertensi, stroke, dan pengentalan darah. Minyak jelantah sebenarnya dapat digunakan kembali ketika sudah melalui proses pemurnian ulang (reprosesing), tetapi karena keamanan pangan masih diperdebatkan karena minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang mengandung senyawa akrolein yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan tubuh, sehingga digunakan sebagai pengganti bahan baku industri yang tidak mengandung pangan yaitu lilin. Limbah minyak jelantah biasanya hanya dibuang begitu saja. Pembuangan limbah minyak jelantah pada saluran pembuangan dapat menyebabkan kerusakan ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka diperlukan pemanfaatan kembali limbah minyak jelantah sebagai alternatif non pangan yaitu lilin aromaterapi. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk menumbuhkan kreativitas masyarakat agar menggunakan limbah rumah tangga dengan cara yang lebih kreatif. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi cara membuat lilin aromaterapi dari minyak jelantah. Pelatihan berlangsung sesuai jadwal dan mencakup materi tentang pembuatan lilin aromaterapi, manfaatnya, dan proses pembuatannya. Selain itu, peserta dilatih membuat lilin aromaterapi bersama. Selama kegiatan berlangsung, antusias peserta menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat tertarik untuk mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini.
