Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of firefighting foam stored in the ARFF warehouse at Kualanamu International Airport. Foam is the primary extinguishing agent used in airport firefighting operations, especially for incidents involving flammable liquids. A decline in foam quality can directly affect firefighting effectiveness. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that major factors contributing to foam degradation include unstable room temperatures, direct exposure to sunlight, and improper storage practices, such as mixing foam with other equipment. Additionally, budget constraints remain a key obstacle to constructing a dedicated foam storage facility. These results highlight the importance of proper foam storage in compliance with regulations and the need for adequate infrastructure to maintain foam effectiveness in emergency situations.

Abstract

This research analyzes the performance of the main Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle, Foam Tender (FT) 11 Oshkosh Striker 3000 from 2013, at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The role of ARFF is crucial in ensuring aviation safety, especially in handling aircraft accident and fire incidents. FT 11 is vital for minimizing impact and saving lives; periodic performance analysis is therefore essential for operational readiness according to strict international standards. The objective of this study is to evaluate the conformity of FT 11's performance with the Regulation of the Director General of Air Transportation Number KP 547 Year 2015 concerning Technical Operational Guidelines for Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, and to identify the impact of performance degradation on the overall operations of the ARFF unit at the airport. A qualitative research method was applied, with data collection through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and comprehensive documentation studies. This approach was chosen for its ability to understand factors influencing vehicle maintenance effectiveness, including technical skills, environmental factors, and policies, as well as to capture the perceptions and experiences of personnel in the field. The research findings are expected to present key findings related to the actual performance conditions of FT 11 based on applicable standard parameters, and to provide a comprehensive analysis of the implications of this performance on the readiness and responsiveness of the ARFF unit in emergency situations. The discussion will include an evaluation of the physical and functional condition of the vehicle, an analysis of the impact of performance degradation on operational efficiency, and an identification of gaps between actual conditions and established standards. Based on these findings, the research will formulate concrete recommendations for improving vehicle maintenance systems and enhancing personnel training programs to increase emergency preparedness and response effectiveness, which will ultimately support the improvement of aviation safety at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport..

Abstract

A clear and well-structured organizational system is a crucial factor in ensuring the effectiveness of emergency services at airports. This study aims to: (i) identify the organizational structure of the Airport Rescue and Firefighting (PKP-PK) Unit at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar, (ii) assess its alignment with operational needs and emergency service standards, and (iii) evaluate personnel competencies in relation to national and international regulations. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation review regarding the structure and competencies of PKP-PK personnel. The findings indicate that the PKP-PK organizational structure at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport formally complies with existing regulations, both in terms of hierarchy and functional division. Each position, from unit head to operational staff, carries clear roles in supporting emergency operations. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including the limited number of certified personnel, insufficient succession planning, uneven training implementation, delays in equipment procurement, and the lack of joint simulation exercises with stakeholders. The study concludes that although the organizational structure already meets operational requirements, the effectiveness of its implementation still requires strengthening personnel competencies, improving training quality, and enhancing cross-sector coordination to ensure optimal emergency services.

Abstract

Driver payroll management is a strategic aspect of financial management accounting because it not only accounts for a significant proportion of labor costs in logistics company operations but also directly relates to the well being of workers, the primary drivers of distribution. This study aims to analyze and design an integrated management accounting system that can improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of driver payroll at PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk. Using Research and Development (R&D) methods, the study was conducted in the logistics business unit through observation, interviews, and document review related to the existing payroll system. The results indicate that the integration of a digital based system accelerates the payroll process, increases transparency, and strengthens operational cost control. This system ensures salaries are paid fairly, on time, and according to regulations, while minimizing administrative errors. These findings underscore the importance of digital transformation as a managerial strategy to support operational performance and provide appropriate rewards to drivers, the primary drivers of logistics services.

Abstract

This internship report aims to identify and analyze the financial transaction recording procedures implemented at PT SMART Tbk Padang Halaban and to assess their relevance to Sharia accounting principles. The internship was conducted for one month, from January 16 to February 16, 2023, in the Checkroll Clerk Division, which handles labor administration and operational financial recording. The research methods used include direct observation, interviews with company staff, and documentation of financial recording activities. The findings indicate that PT SMART Tbk has implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system using the SAP platform, enabling a more systematic, accurate, and efficient process of financial transaction recording. However, some administrative tasks are still performed manually using Microsoft Excel, which may lead to delays and potential human errors. In general, the company’s recording procedures comply with conventional accounting principles such as objectivity, reliability, and measurability. Nevertheless, from the perspective of Sharia accounting, the system has not fully reflected Islamic values such as justice (‘adl), honesty (sidq), transparency (amanah), and the avoidance of riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (speculation). Therefore, this report recommends that the company begin integrating Sharia accounting principles into its financial recording system through human resource training, the adjustment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the development of Sharia-compliant modules within the ERP system. Such integration is expected to enhance the company’s ethical and spiritual accountability, ensuring that its financial reporting is not only technically reliable but also aligned with Islamic ethical values.
