Abstract

This study aimed to describe student attitudes towards learning physics with computer media use through theimplementation of cooperative type STAD model in SMAN I X3 graders West Bangkinang 2009/2010academic year which amounts to 35 people with a sample of two groups totaling 12 people. Collecting databy using the observation sheet at each meeting. The technique of data analysis using descriptive analysis. Results of data analysis shows that on average during the three meetings have been 77.8% of students with ascientific high category, 19.4% of students have been scientifically medium category, and 2.7% of thestudents is still low in the scientific attitude. Thus the application of physics learning with computer mediause through the implementation of an effective model for cooperative type STAD X3 geade students at SMANI west Bangkinang subject matter of heat.

Abstract

This study aimed to know students’ misconception level on dynamic motion. The subject of this research was all students of XII grade students at SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau with the number were 85 students. It was a survey research. The research data was obtained from the result of  three-tier multiple choice diagnostic test with the number of questions were 30 items. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The research result showed that the average of percentage’s students those had misconception on each submaterial were 57.01% for Force and Newton Law, 69.02% for Newton’s Law on Gravity, 49.18% for Work and Energy, 48.24% for Elasticity and Hook’s Law, 59.77% for Momentum, Impulse, and Collision, and 41.47% for Equilibrium and Rotational Dynamic. Generally, the students’ average of percentage those had misconception on dynamic motion was 54.71%. Therefore, it can be conclude that misconception level of XII grade students at SMA Negeri plus Provinsi Riau on dynamic motion is on the middle level.

Abstract

Critical thinking ability is one of the high-level thinking skills that are problem solving skills essentially. The main purpose of this research is to describe the level of students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The population in the study were 316 students of grade 11 of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. Samples were taken by purposive sampling so that a sample of 33 students. The instrument of this research is a test of critical thinking skills which is based on 12 indicators of critical thinking skills. Data was collected by giving a test of critical thinking skills to the sample. Data analysis in this study used descriptive, which provide an overview of the level of critical thinking skills. The results of this study provide information that the average percentage of critical thinking skills students of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru is 50.88% with a moderate level of critical thinking ability.

Abstract

Google Erath is a very useful application in the field of geology, geography and even in the field of social sciences. This article is an explanation on how Google Earth calculates the distance of a location to another location. When a position above the surface of Google Earth is determined, the latitude and longitude and altitude will be visible. To be able to calculate the distance of two locations requires the conversion of both locations for latitude, longitude and altitude into position x, y and z, where z coordinates is the average elevation measured from the sea surface. This conversion uses the basic science of spherical geometry and coordinate system. By using the manual calculation between the Rector building of Univeritas Riau in Pekanbaru to Monas in Jakarta, the distance of two locations is obtained of 954,239.5 m. The result of the conversion and distance calculation with this concept shows the value of almost equal to the distance measurements made by Google Erath which amounted to 953,065.1 m with the difference of around 0.123%. For the other 4 locations the percentage difference is almost equal to the average of 0.173%.

Abstract

This study aims to develope physics learning blog based on flipped classroom approach for grade X MIPA Senior High School. The developed product was learning blog which can be utilized as learning media for teacher and student at flipped classroom learning. Research method used was R&D with the ADDIE design approach. Research phase includes analysis, design, development, and evaluation. Data collection instrument include a sheet of students interest in learning using of internet that filled by students and learning blog validity sheet that filled by validator. Data was analyzed using percentage methods and descriptive techniques. Learning blog which has been developed then validated by 3 physics education lecturers as experts and 3 physics teachers as users. Learning blog contain of LKPD, learning videos, online quizzes, and chat. As for the assessment includes content aspect, linguistic aspects, and display aspect. While the avarage score of learning blog validity was 3,17 from experts with high category, while those of users was 3,17 with very high category. Therefore physics learning blog based on flipped classroom approach was valid and feasible to use.

Abstract

This study wasaimed to describe the level of student scientific consistency and representation consistency of class X SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru on rectilinear motion kinematisc material. The type of research was survey research. The subject of this research were 70 students. The data collection of this research used test, instrument of research used scientific consistency and representation consistency test the form of objektive matter which consist of 21 question wiht seven themes, each theme consist off three question with the same concept but presented in different representatiton. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data which showed the level of scientific consistency and representation consistency. The results showed that thepercentage of student at each scientific consistency level was 14.29% for consistent scientific, 20.00% for moderately consistent scientific and 65.71% for inconsistent scientific, while overall the students were at inconsistent levels for scientific consistency or that can be said they have no consistency scientific. For representation consistency, the percentage of students at each successive level was 17.14% for consistent representation, 28.57% for moderately consistent representation and 54.29% for inconsistent representation, while overall students were at moderately consistent representation level, mean that  studentshave consistency representation.
